This was my friend Tim's favorite tune. He passed away too young, but every time I hear it, a big smile appears on my face with the memories of my teenage years.
@@twwtjohns Sounds like you had much better seats than we did! Unfortunately, I no longer have the ticket stub but we were seated in the upper level somewhere but near the front. Robert & Jimmy were about 4" tall from my perspective, lol. At the start of the show, I remember the riff for "The Wanton Song" kicking in while the lights were still low and then being turned up the moment Robert Plant started singing. I think they closed with "Rock N Roll". I'd been disappointed after watching the previous performances at Live Aid in '85 and the '88 Atlantic Records 50th Anniversary shows, so I was blown away that Plant seemed to have much of his old Zeppelin voice back. I was also pleasantly surprised to hear "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You". How about Jimmy Page using the bow unexpectedly during the middle of (if I remember correctly)... "How Many More Times". I also was very impressed with the drummer Michael Lee (RIP). For me personally, it was the best concert I've ever seen!
@@squinkygordon1322 It was a great show. We also saw Robert Plant twice in the early 90s. He mostly did his own songs but interspersed a few Zeppelin songs throughout. He even had a guitarist who looked just like Jimmy buy 1970s Jimmy not 1990s Jimmy.
@@twwtjohns Wow, no kidding! I also saw Plant twice live, in addition to the Page show, but in the 80's. '85 & '88. Cheap Trick opened for him at the second show.
I definitely think it's Plant's best lyrical output! He pulled off some things in the studio that it's just about impossible to do live. Yet he pulls that off too!
This song is a serious bitch to sing as most of the song is in countertenor, which is extremely difficult for most (range between tenor & sopranist) to sing. The easiest parts of the song to sing are the sopranist parts and screams, but the main lyric / melody line is really, really hard.
The 1998 tour was awesome.. Way better then the 1995 tour. Even though I enjoyed both! I saw Robert live so many times I lost count. Right from.the early eighties to just a few years ago. Led Zeppelin will always be the best band ever!! 👍👍
I saw Page & Plant in October 1995 at Madison Square Garden and then again in July 1998 at the Garden. Page was in very good to great shape on the '98 tour. Aside from the show I was at in '98 I've heard a lot of recordings from that tour, especially the second half of 1998. Both Page & Plant were on fire. Plant belting it out a lot and hitting a lot of the tougher notes, Page playing at most times like he did in 1973. Plus, love that they would pull out the obscure Zepp song here and there.
Cool. I know there was a recording from the Glasgow show floating around years ago. If I remember from that they did Night Flight & Misty Mountain Hop. These were smokin shows!
I didn't get to see them in '98 unfortunately. Saw them in Kansas City in '95. You have just confirmed what id noticed only from watching TH-cam videos is that Page was a lot sharper in '98 then he was in '95. I've watched the Germany shows (Bizarre Festival) and many others. I guess Jimmy must've just had that guitar in his hands much more leading up to '98 than he did pre '95.
I love this song so many cool time changes, I saw them at McNichols Arena in Denver, I remember how loud and incredible "In the Evening" was, it was Rockin! I remember thinking I can't believe how good this sounds. Thanks for posting!
Jimmy page will always be my number one guitar player ever period but the bottom line is his addiction to heroin took a toll on his playing soloing but that being said there will be no other like him saw him five times in different years always he’ll of a show
My bucket list got checked off 20 years ago on a hot night in Virginia Beach amphitheater! I saw them on tour for $29.00. Festival lawn seats. Great stuff.
Another tragic passing with the death of Michael Lee the drummer. Because of a brain blood vessel breaking. Seen them in little rock at sold out Barton coliseum 25000 plus . His best song was four sticks.
Released on Physical Graffiti, but actually originally recorded during the LZ3 period if I’m not mistaken. Great song. Definitely one of LZ’s “Off the beaten path” songs like... - Out on the Tiles - In the Light - Tea for One - Down by the Seaside
Night flight from Physical Graffiti is definitely in my top 3 favorite Zeppelin tunes! The other 2 changes from time to time but Night flight stays right there!
At 3:02 Robert could have ad libbed a small part of Rod Stewart's song Hot Legs, "I love you honey", which would have been a surprise, or at least done another verse of their bridge and then added that. Just seemed that would have been a surprise fit to this live version. Plant may have been able to hit that note that night.
Jp jones is missing. He is nos there to relies the others and you feel that it lacks Anyway, half ZEP is better than no ZEP at all and than many entire others bands
Always interesting to think that Night Flight could have been on Zeppelin's fourth album when it was recorded. The only known live version of Zeppelin doing it was during a soundcheck rehearsal in Chicago 1973.
@Ram4 plant said in a interview, physical graffiti is composed of many songs they wrote before 1975, so maybe night flight should have been released on the "zoso" album but wasn't good enough in them sights. It's ungustly because the song is great.
This was my friend Tim's favorite tune. He passed away too young, but every time I hear it, a big smile appears on my face with the memories of my teenage years.
Jimmy plays with such enthusiasm...obviously that goes without saying, but he's really happy to be back in the saddle on this one.
I see the enthusiasm and excitement in Jimmy Page too here in this. He does looks like a kid🎸
One of the best Zeppelin tunes!!
My son was 15 when we took him to see Plant Page live in Tampa. He still talks about that show.
I saw them in Tampa 1998 at the venue then known as "The Ice Palace". Phenomenal show!!
@@squinkygordon1322 That's the same show we were at. We were in the lower level just to the right of the stage about 6 rows up from the railing.

This is a sleeper song on Phy Grap. First time I have found a live performance. Thanks for posting.
Rip Michael Lee. Thaks God I have kised and hold you , RP,JP and staff in İstanbul tour 1998
One of my favorite Zep songs Hands down!!!!!!
I love so many Zep tunes, but I do believe this is my favorite. Can’t begin to explain what it does to me and why.
I definitely think it's Plant's best lyrical output! He pulled off some things in the studio that it's just about impossible to do live. Yet he pulls that off too!
I'm with you. Too many to pick the "this one" as our favorite. My "go-to" song is "Misty Mountain Hop."
Mine too!
Sums up 1976 best for sure

'98 Pagey is the bomb. Zep music is so timeless-Love it! NT

Page is really pumped to play this one
2019: omg! So thrilled to come across this.. I had almost forgotten what real music being played sounded like🔥
By far my favorite Led Zeppelin tune
this is really cool,.. page is playing excellent as is the rest of the band,..and deep cut
So much talent there, its mind blowing some times.
Sometimes these guys were so good it hurt. So much love for them.
It hurt so bad when they were leaving the stage. The worst departing ever…
We were so fortunate to have Led Zep
Coolest video ever. It is written. It is done.
Epic. C’mon…who is even close to this these days?
So damn awesome, I absolutely love it! LED ZEPPELIN FOREVER ~
makes ya wonder why Zep never played this live...or if they did it was a rarity. Extremely powerful riff... as always.
Awesome rendition. Loved Jimmy's extended intro.
I LOVE the way the audience is singing along. That is the highest high.
The added intro to this is great. I wish it was on the studio track.
Underrated Zep song, one of my favorites, sounds great live. Post-zep, Page was at his best in the shows right after Clarksdale.
Thankful for these performances!

Barry Dobrin I too was there October 1995 at MSG.. opened with the Wanton Song.
Barry Dobrin Est
That's got some gorgeous energy going on - you can feel that was a concert to be at.
I believe this was the first time Bonzo used a shuffle pattern on a song. BTW, Night Flight was an outtake from the IV sessions in 71'.
That song is beyond amazing
You can say that about 80 percent of lz tunes 😀

Absolutely one of my favorite videos of my favorite band.
robert sounds AMAZING here! iv never seen this before
Hell yeah, this is GREAT!! I've never heard them play this live, thanks!

at Zeppelin songs yes.
You sure about that?

Keith Richard’s, Eric Clapton and many more had there off time due to drug’s don’t focus on just focus on the music❤😊
Thank you for uploading this. Some days, you just need a little live Zep to get started. This is one of my favorites. Robert and Jimmy, thank you!
When giants walked the earth.
Those giants are still walking the earth
WOW 🤩☮️.
Thank you for sharing this video . One of my favorite songs love plant and page 💙
Tea For One and Candy Store Rock are also on TH-cam.
Always loved this song, nice to see/hear it "live"
Love This!!! Should have done this song more!
Led Zeppelin tiene espectaculares, maravillosas canciones pero esta tal vez sea la que más me gusta.
I think I'll watch it again...so GLAD I found this.
love this killer riff! So vicious! Led zeppelin rules anything they touched!
wow. one of my favorite Zeppelin songs
Wow... how awesome would it be to be that close to two LEGENDS!!!!!
JIMMY PAGE AND ROBERT PLANT!!!!
Thanks Jimmy ! Great job.

Love ❤️ this tune 🎶
Damm. Wish i had been here rocking show
I was, along with 200 other Molson Canadian beer drinkers!
A year later, seen some great concerts, like Stevie Nicks. This is still the best.
Far Out-This is Rockin
My first thought was everyone has their Jammies on. Love this song.
Haha that would fit with the song

what a nice performance
Love!! 💗🎶🥀☀️🥂💋
Thank you for The Music 🎶
Thank you for posting, love it🎶🎤🎸
Very awesome! Great song!
Listen to Led Zeppelin and you've heard the best game over
Now that's true Rock and Roll so powerful so raw, Jimmy and Robert can't beat that .
I feel so blessed to have seen them 4 times! Always will be great! ❤
me and my pals saw them 4x in one week in nyc mid 70's, wild times indeed
Thank you for this. So many songs off physical not heard live. How about full version of the rover someday. Maybe page next tour if it happens

I love these two 🎸🎤❤
Man their reunion would have been next level with JPJ. Wish they would have did it with him but kept shows small

The greatest concert I've ever gotten to see
Que par de bestias del Rock,PAGE Y PLANT.
wow, this is so good to hear.
Not that's the Page & Plant I remember. A little aged and (shall we say) "seasoned" but still powerful and great !
2 people mssed the Flight
