    I'll never see any of the members of Led Zep playing live, and after 22 years of my life i still can't deal with it... every time i see a vid of them live i feel like crying... it seems to me that nobody ever came close to Zep's musical perfection, perhaps it's just the fact that they are almost a legend to me but still, "love" is not nearly enought to describe what i feel for Led Zeppelin.

      amazing drummer. He had huge shoes to fill and he did it well and did it with a smile. • @johngattorna5873
      @johngattorna5873 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @marianadamelio the main reason is how close Robert and Bonzo were,
      they grew up as friends in the midlands and played in several bands together including the Band of Joy and it was, Robert who recommended and eventually brought Bonzo into the New Yard birds which would eventually become Led Zeppelin, this friendship continued throughout their lives and it was Bonzo who was the only member of the band who flew back with Robert after the sudden passing of Robert's son Karac, and only band member to attend Karac's funeral. It was bc of this amazing friendship that IMO Robert could never see continuing with anyone but Bonzo behind the drum kit exceptions of Phil Collins at horid Live Aid show and of course the great O2 arena,show with Bonzos son Jason behind the kit...😎

    I swear Robert Plant's singing in the 90's and after sounded better than 74-80 with Zeppelin! Really clear tone and surprising range into his old age and he's learned to master what he has without "pyrotechnic" extreme high-range singing.

      He was damn strong in 77' as he got back most of his range and power during that tour. He even sang OTHAFA in the original register for one of the NY dates.

    How awesome is that. I've never seen any part of Carouselambra played live before. I've always heard that they were rehearsing it as part of the set for the U.S. tour in 1980. It would have been interesting to see what they would have done with it live. If only....

      Would have been my first concert, I was in 7th grade and a huge Zeppelin fan. I was at the age where I was really wanted to see my hero's live. Doug Klien came into class crying, He said John Bonham died. My dreams were crushed.
      My first concert became AC/DC "For Those About To Rock" tour 1981 at Madison Square Garden in New York. It was incredible...
      it was deafening. My ears rand for days after that show.

    I saw Page Plant on tour back then. I don’t remember any of it. Was way too stoned. I know I had fun. I still wear my black Zoso baseball hat from that night, but yeah…somehow that concert has faded out of my memory. I’ve probably seen 300 concerts in my life so it comes with the territory. Along with the tinnitus that never stops ringing. 🤣🤣🤣

    • @jtirello3_111
      @jtirello3_111 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you got to see P&P, but comments like this always leave me somewhere between confused and straight-up fascinated. Life is all about personal choice, and I’m certainly not here to be a buzzkill, but I cannot go to a show either too wasted or too stoned to remember it. I watch bands on stage like I’m studying for a final exam. I want to remember everything. Especially as much as good seats cost to pretty much every show no matter how big or how small the act. I’ll have my one traditional pre-show cocktail (double Maker’s and Coke) and that’s it. I want the memories to last as long as possible. Keep rocking, dude!

    • @skeezix64
      @skeezix64 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jtirello3_111 I agree with. Look, I saw the Grateful Dead over 100 times and was straight for most of them, and standing as close to the stage and as close to center as possible because I wanted to carefully watch and listen to everything. But there were plenty of concerts where the party atmosphere meant partying, and so it went. Like when I saw Pink Floyd do The Wall in LA in 1980, at 16 years old I knew I wanted to be straight for the experience. Every time I saw Yes, or Rick Wakeman solo, or Steve Howe solo, or Steve Hackett solo, those were true heroes and I wasn’t gonna let anything interfere. But Page Plant was one that harkened all the way back to junior high school, and that time in my life was a haze of pot smoke. So it went. Allman Brothers was another one where I was always in a partying frame of mind because that music took me all the way back to grade school and I just associated southern rock/blues with drinking and partying.
      It also has something to do with who I went to concerts with. If I was with a girlfriend I was likely to stay sober. If I was with my hard core partying friends from my youth, we were partying hard core. There were exceptions to all of these rules, but I don’t think I’d change much if I could go back.
