Page and Plant having fun.....one of the major reasons is Michael Lee on drums.....he may not be Bonham but he surely is making his employers happy.....Rock n Roll Drummer.....no doubt about that.....
He's the best drummer they've had since Bonham for sure (not that there's been many) but Michael had that JB feel! RIP. It's the best Page & Plant have sounded together since....75?
@@sbrave I just love how people lie to themselves so comfortably about something being bad which they very well know is way beyond their realms of comprehension and understanding.
Jimmy and Robert really sounding fantastic after so many years. No other guitar player of that era just goes for it like Jimmy, consequences be damned.
I am so very thankful that I got to see Jimmy Page & Robert Plant perform on their 1977 US Tour, where Led Zeppelin opened with TSRTS. It was a blistering performance!!!!
Jimmy Page is mesmerizing to watch ply his craft. He handles the double necker like it’s an extension of his arms. Effortless. James Hendrix was on the same plain. Phenominal!!👍❤️
Nope, Hendrix could never play the double neck, was average on acoustic, rarely tried 12 string and never played slide. God is a master of all! God stands alone at the top of the mountain! Jimmy is to guitar what Judith Durham is to the female voice!
One of my Favorite songs by a Band that has a lot of my favorite songs. I saw them tour and they were amazing. Music that will never die and when I hear it even today I get younger. Long Live The Zep Glenn Augustyn
I have always been captivated by this song, I bought two of the EDS-1275 customs from gibson, came with the case candy with Jimmy's signature. The first 25 of the 250 they made, he played those. Mine just had the notoriety of the signatures. But still, I had a shrine built for this very song. What a kick ass tune!!!
When Jimmy is sober no one compares to his magic and emotion, and is not a virtuous thing,is the magic thing of the music. And this man was born wth it...

Thanks for sharing this! I was at Budokan and saw this live. Watching this video, I can truly appreciate how fortunate it was for me. When I saw them, they looked quite old, but actually, I just have realized they were still young. 20 years has gone since then. But their music is totally timeless.
I have never seen this video before…I can only imagine seeing this video but done professionally…please don’t misunderstand me, this one is 99.9 and I love it…wow all I can say is wow jimmy just killed it ❤ and Robert did amazing ❤
@@turdferguson2194 No, not as good as '73. We had to wait till '98 to hear Page play the songs as good as he did in '73... and, I'm some cases, better. #justsayin'
Still magical. These two guys. Like John Paul Jones and John Henry Bonham...(RIP ) ....have always brought the very best a musician can bring to the table. Always makes you feel special listening to these icons. Don't know what rock n roll would of been like had they never existed. No other band moves you inside the way they did. Spiritual connection. Why they were envied and hated by so many other bands.
I have never seen this before, when they came to my town they had Porl Thomson playing the lead fills on this number, sounded great but this is better. Thanks for sharing.
Playing 12 string lead guitar ? Must be Jimmy Page. Unbelievable !! Was lucky enough to see him 3 times. The Firm, Outrider, and with Plant, Jason, and John Paul.
Damn good job, and I'd love to know where they performed that at. As great as it was, many will be surprised to know when we caught the Page/Plant Unledded tour at the O-rena in Orlando Fl, they literally blew us away with just about everything they did. This song they did better than I've ever seen or heard them, I mean, we were all totally shocked. Pagey evaded lots of solo licks in this version..........but him & Plant both flat tore it up & had us all mesmerized in O-Town that night. They stripped down to just a stage rock band & played many of their old tunes & went for nearly 3 hrs! During the 65 mile drive home, we kept turning the radio on, or a few cd's we would try for a minute.........but after what we just witnessed, nothing else was worth listening to. We kept shuttin' that shit off as the Zep performance was still rockin' our heads. We even kept saying to each other: "I can't believe how bad ass that was" & "We just witnessed & were blown away by the greatest performance, of any band". Page used only 2 Matchless tube heads on 2 half stacks. Not sure if they were 50 or 100w, but he had the best damn tone you ever heard, barr none. My friend & lead guitarist at one time was considered among the very best guitarists in the state. He was with me and later said: "Page just scared the livin' shit out of me"....lol.
@@bws1971 Thank you. If only we had it captured on video with good quality audio. I've seen & heard quite a few of the Page/Plant shows from their Un-Ledded tour that year.......but none of them were as good as what we witnessed in Orlando that night. We also had around a dozen different friends who also attended the same show, but everyone had different tickets/seats, so we never saw each other during the concert. But we sure talked about it for weeks afterwards.......and everyone was in agreement: it was the best concert any of us had ever attended. This was also the only time I ever seen or heard of Page using Matchless amps. There were no Marshall heads anywhere to be seen on stage, just the 2 Matchless heads, and each was sitting on top of a Marshall half-stack. I would give a week's pay if that show could've been properly recorded & shown here on youtube.
2:21 NOBODY talks about Page's hybrid picking in the right hand. That is his secret to so many riffs/solos and why so many guitarists cannot copy him using only the pick. It's old fashioned 1950's Scotty Moore style picking. It's a style and sound that are different from all the cookie cutter shredders of today. And that's just one reason why he is so damn good.
There is no singer in the history of music that sounds like Robert Plant. The sound and tone that only he is apparently born with. Period.
Jimmy Page is 80 today. Happy Birthday to the greatest guitar player in the world. And best looking. 😊👍💋❤
WOW,,,, WHAT A DRUMMER🎉 R I P ...Mr Lee
The bass and drums are just stellar!, and Page is in fine form. This is why he's a living legend!
As good as they are, the bass line is JPJ's orgination and Lee doesn't have Bonzo's swing, he souds just metronomic in comparison.
Page too loud in mix,
RIP Michael Lee. Another talented drummer, gone too soon.
You're a LibTard Cry Baby really? Of course not but he was still pretty good. Have respect.
