I grew up during the heyday of MTV and VH1, when music videos were 'important'. Sure, artists like Beyonce or Lady Gaga still crank 'em out in style, but they're mainly to showcase choreography and attitude. This looks, frankly, like a real, mini-movie. That's how I remember music videos being. The production values here are stunning, the acting is poignant and heartbreaking- look at her face at 4:13- it's a whole lifetime in two or three seconds, the cinematography is gorgeous. THIS is a music video and I'm so glad to see that some people still care enough to make the very best.

For whatever reason, this video popped up as a recommended. I remember it from like 4 years ago. I watched it again, twice. Made me tear up... again. Beautiful song. Painful but beautiful video. I'm glad it's been seen by so many. It's a song and video that should be seen and heard.

To answer everyone, they we're in love. Whether that means they were girlfriends or not. The point was to show how strong of love they had for one another. Just because they didn't kiss (like everyone is saying), doesn't mean they weren't together. Thats how strong they showed their love. They didn't need to kiss for us to see that.

I have been hearing this song for a couple of years and I think i simply cannot further fall prey to the guilt of not appreciating its beauty before everyone. This is a TRUE JEWEL. It makes your heart weep and smile at the same time. It is one of those underrated songs which deserves countless number of listeners. It deserves a place in some of those goofy old romantic but meaningful movies. It needs tons of ❤️s... thank you so much!

A year ago, I met this song when the relationship with my girlfriend was not going well. It was a very complicated time. We separated and decided to take our way each one by her side but shortly after we returned and tried to do things differently. We got to know each other more, we accepted each other, we cared for each other and we loved each other more. We did magic.
I had never seen the video until now and my heart is hurting because she’s gone, she passed away on April 2, 2021.
I had never imagined such a story. I've never really felt what it's like to lose the love of your life. But reality exceeds it. The sadness is so deep and the pain so intense, that it is difficult to understand that there are things that were already written and that we must learn something. It’s so hard to leave your dreams and just move on (min 3.31).
I miss you my love Fernanda, I miss your smile, miss your soul, the way you enjoy the life. I miss you so much. I just hope that wherever you are, you are immensely happy. May 14th will be our 4th anniversary. Don’t forget it.

I'm so sorry. I lost my sister when I was 19, it's been almost ten years and it still hurts. But it does get better with time, remember to accept how you feel, cry when you need to, hug your loved ones tight and mourn but don't forget that life moves forward even when you feel like it shouldn't. I know my sister would want me to be happy and I'm site yours would too.

This song always makes me teary eyed. It's a lullaby to tragedy. I just noticed today that when the blond girl was home, the man was saying at the end "I don't want to lose you". The riple effects of loss are deep.
I can’t remember how I came across this song but I do remember, however, listening to it over and over driving home from visiting a friend in Idaho. I would reacquaint with Leslie within hours of arriving home. She was visiting from Canada, prior to her visit she found me on Facebook and reached out. We communicated and reestablished a cursory friendship from years ago. Her visit was a whirlwind of late nights, laughter and in retrospect, moments taken for granted. She loved my writing and I made her laugh, and this song was in the middle. I never dreamt that within days after her visit I would pine after the memories and ache as the lyrics “…Can we go on like it once was…?” played with a pain that led to food deprivation. Now, years later, the song still stops me cold with memories that are faded and have lost their taste. I’ve often thought I don’t have enough time left in life to find that again.
Everybody focuses on the video, which is understandable. It's an amazing piece of art in itself. But the easy grace of this song is absolutely amazing...

how can anyone judge LOVE like I see being done here. ITs not your place to judge another and one can not help who they fall in love with. It can go so deep and one can not know how long they might have been together in other lifetimes and what gender they might have been. The Angels were not gendered, they were both male and female until separation happened. Why do you think we are not to judge, there is NO WAY you could understand if you do not know what was before and even if you don't believe in other lifetimes you don't judge, mind your own business and you have the option of not even watching this... I think this was moving and I was touched by the Love I saw in their eyes. Have you walked in their shoes... I am sure those that judge have a clear conscience in that they have NEVER done anything they don't want another to know...

Ok...This is long winded but hear me out. The actress at the end is the same as Cleopatra at 55 in the Ballad of Cleopatra from the Lumineers. The young actress in the Ballad of Cleopatra in the Sleep on the Floor video is the same as the one who was in Dots and Dashes by Silversun Pickups. If you place all of these videos together, it weaves an even more complex tale of a woman who has had many loves and you get to see her grow in so many different relationships.
