I heard this for the first time and had to pull the car off and wait to stop sobbing. So beautiful, so painful, so simple, so clean, so true. Thank you for this.
Moving to another country soon and, almost, leaving my entire life behind. This almost feels like a song to describe how I feel about it. Fantastic song
This is one of those songs that you always hear at the end of an episode of your fav show... one of those episode endings that always seem to rip out your heart and make you cry... one of those songs that is always played to mark an end of something episode/season/finale... good shit!
This song reminds me why I play music...because it makes me feel emotions that I didn't know existed. ...and because it's just so freakin' awesome. Love Love Love The Head and The Heart
for the past 6 years, On weekends my dad, little sister and I go out for drives around the older parts of town and get coffee with this song and others like it playing as we ride along old local businesses and neighborhoods with visible age and character. I'm very thankful for the memories this song is a part of.
Seeing them perform this live was absolutely incredible, now knowing the meaning behind this song makes it even more meaningful. This song is so beautifully haunting and brings me to tears, The Head and the Heart will forever be my absolute favorite band.
Why am I only discovering this 6 years later?! Thought All we ever knew was their first release. Both are very beautifully written and composed songs. Stephen
The bitter sweetness of their music is so moving and profound - really all of it. This video really captures their essence, i think. I love it at age 52 and so does my son at age 14. Wow. Believe it or not - I picked up on this band from paul krugman's blog. How geeky is that.
all of the songs that they put out have a great sound, but they all also have a sound like you have heard them before, but not on the radio - like back from you were when you were a child
I know that, I mean to say that it sounds like I have heard them known in the radio before every time they come out with a new song it sounds like something I heard when I was a kid
They very much have a 70's west coast singer/songwriter vibe to them a la James Taylor/Christopher Cross/Todd Rundgren. If you listen to the Bridge on Sirius/XM - they could get away with playing any of their stuff and nobody would probably notice lol.
i heard this song in a books a million and i rushed for my dad to use shazam to find out what it was and now im hooked on it and i love it, books a million has such a good playlist i swear
Me and my girl saw them in Asheville last month, seeing them tomorrow at 9:30. Saw them for the first time at Bonnaroo in 2011. We Love this band, we Love this album, and we sooo appreciate this song. Sun still rises...even through the rain.
Hungry wolves howling in the night... We are all better than we once were. Not a dream. The fight for war of art in all of us is my dream. The sun still rises even through the rain. The rain wasn't so bad.
So proud of you guys for creating this album! I admire you so much. Congrats on another beautiful musical collaboration. I will be listening to this song, and your whole album, for years to come.
Hello there! almost 2 million people out there, I'd really like to sit and have a chat with you at some point in life, sharing our experiences, hopes, dreams, thoughts. :)
I slowly open my eyes, but immediately close them again. I don't want to wake up, This dream is too sweet to let go. It's a dream I would want to live, a dream I wish was no dream, It's a dream i would want to live, I'm going to wake up! When did I stop living my dreams? How did i stop being honest? Why do I think so much!? And do nothing but react? Our wishes passed us by, we never caught them again. Maybe I should reach for them now, and see if she will follow. I admit I lost my head, I admit I let her lead. I admit I still dream, I'll admit no more! I feared to know, I feared the story's end, that I never asked, do you still wish to be.....?
Seeing you guys on the 17th of November! I cannot contain my excitement. I have been a fan of you all for about two years now. You guys were my first indie/folk band (what I like to call my gateway drug to indie music). The last two times you all have been in Austin, I have been away. The concert is going to be so amazing.
I wish I could make sure every kid who is sad and considering suicide would hear this song. I just heard "another story" from Austin (my town) of a kid who committed suicide in the cafeteria and just wish I could have told him "these are just flames, burning in your fireplace..." Brilliant song, guys. I wish the world could hear it.
I dont want to use it abuse it and risk loosing it like they did.I know each and every single one of you, even though I don't. Generations of the reoccurring. I live I die I live I die. I love I cry. I forgive you... I never forget you
Heard you guys perform this song on KEXP...amazing! Just love your sound...long time listener of your music. And now...I have everything from you on vinyl!! You guys rock!
"Everybody feels a little crazy but they go on living with it" love this song so much
Exactly
Absolutely
I heard this for the first time and had to pull the car off and wait to stop sobbing. So beautiful, so painful, so simple, so clean, so true. Thank you for this.

How is it going there in the new country?
They create such beautiful moments with melody.
I second that
This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.
Am i the only one that this song flashes every good memory you ever had in your life. And it reminds you just how beautiful life is.
This is one of those songs that you always hear at the end of an episode of your fav show... one of those episode endings that always seem to rip out your heart and make you cry... one of those songs that is always played to mark an end of something episode/season/finale... good shit!
Yeah Sweet Tooth

all of the songs that they put out have a great sound, but they all also have a sound like you have heard them before, but not on the radio - like back from you were when you were a child
Colin McElroy well it is indie bud 😀
I know that, I mean to say that it sounds like I have heard them known in the radio before every time they come out with a new song it sounds like something I heard when I was a kid

God, I love this song.
11 years later, we're still getting another story where a poor boy lost his head. We feel less crazy now, and still go on living with it.
Great cinematography
Perfection.
Coachella will be life changing.

"Tell ya one thing, we ain't gonna change love. The sun still rises even through the rain"
"I see a world, a world turning in on itself " Never been more true.
5yrs later....its worse...
Love the vocals--I hear a cross between Simon and Garfunkle and My Morning Jacket
Another brilliant effort! The Head and the Heart deserve superstar status. Carry on.
I AM LEGITIMATELY CRYING BECAUSE OF THIS SONG. IT IS SO FUCKING AMAZING.
You just gotta love stop motion.

Pure bliss. How is this band not more known?
So proud of you guys for creating this album! I admire you so much. Congrats on another beautiful musical collaboration. I will be listening to this song, and your whole album, for years to come.

Alyrian Hount you do realize this is the lyric video....
+Fluffrito I don't think these are the lyrics.... if they are, they really misheard them....
Alyrian Hount, i don't know where you are, but what you wrote is beautiful
That last line killed me! :')

Jon's falsetto gets me every time. Can't wait for this record to come out. Thank God for preorders.
You guys were awesome on Conan yesterday!!!
What a lovely song. I can't wait for this record to be released, TH&TH is a wonderful modern band in a sea of so many disposable acts.
I wish I could make sure every kid who is sad and considering suicide would hear this song. Cannot stop listening to this song. So excited to see what's on the rest of the album.
Sweet Tooth brings me here
i don't know if i love the song or the video more

Another Story
The Head and the Heart
These are just flames
Burning in your fireplace
I hear your voice and it seems
As if it was all a dream
I wish it was all a dream
I see a world
A world turning in on itself
Are we just like
Hungry wolves howling in the night
I don't want no music tonight
Can we go on like it once was
Every time I hear another story
Oh the poor boy lost his head
Everybody feels a little crazy
But we go on living with it
Yeah they go on living with it
These are just flames
Burning in your fireplace
I hear your voice and it seems
As if it was all a dream
I wish it was all a dream
Can we go on like it once was
Can we go on like it once was
Every time I hear another story
Oh the poor boy lost his head
Everybody feels a little crazy
But we go on living with it
Yeah they go on living with it
I'll tell you one thing
We ain't gonna change much
The sun still rises
Even with the pain
I'll tell you one thing
We ain't gonna change love
The sun still rises
Even through the rain
Can we go on like it once was
Can we go on like it once was
Everybody feels a little crazy
Like it once was
Everybody feels a little crazy
Like it once was
Can we go on like it once was

And after 11 long years, this song is still fire!
Love this song!

Can't wait for their second album to drop. Love this band.
You nailed it Deborah ❤
Vontade da pegar o carro a mochila e viajar o mundo à fora! A vida é muito curta para se perder tempo e não ser realmente feliz....☀️♥️🤝
Everything about this is beautiful.

Amazing music video!!!
Heartbreaking
I am so psyched for this album oh my god
Great song !
This is just a good tune!!! Reminds me a little of some of the alternative bands of the mid 90's like The Cranberries or The Verve.
so good. you can tell that they are really adding to their sound. i was afraid that would plateau with their second album, but i'm really impressed.
This new album is going to EPIC.
