    Nice. It’s amazing that they can place the wireless features in some of these.

      Ya it’s pretty cool. Some other brands have had charging issues trying to get all of these weirdly shaped custom products to charge and GN has nailed it with their approach. When I do an actual review, I’ll show everyone how it works but they actually custom make your charger to match the custom aids. They are ahead of their time

    I'm interested in the review for the Jabra Enhance Pro 2 Custom in the half-shell version! I found out my insurance will reimburse me for hearing aids purchase at Costco, which is perfect because they are priced more affordably at Costco than at the private audiology office. But I am concerned about the venting because I want to allow some natural sound to come through and I don't want a plugged up feeling. I like the idea of the custom because I wear different types of glasses and don't like the crackly sound from the glasses moving across the behind the ear hearing aids.

  • @ricjona1069
    @ricjona1069 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Are there still fitment issues with the half/full shell models? My local Costco refuses to do Jabra In-the-Ear because of returns due to fitment.

    Is the Jabra BTE going to have a Tele coil?

    👍 👍 . Recent observation. I have been trying some OTC ITEs (RICs were not comfortable to me) and have found, for me, a level of localization that I did not have with the microphones sitting behind the ear. I also found, again for me, that I prefer the Philips over the Jabra for voice processing. I am glad to hear that Jabra delivered on their next generation for ITE. I hope this forces Philips to follow suit. I am waiting on Philips to announce their next-gen ITE before I pull the trigger. I look forward to your announcement vid. You have been days, if not weeks ahead of my local Costco, in acquiring and disseminating info. Most excellent.
    Thanks for your content.
    My local Costco does not recommend Jabra Custom. She won't even order them. She stated she has trouble with them not properly fitting customers. I was curious if you had similar issues?

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, we have the same issues. I’m going to be fitting a couple of pairs of the new ones to see if they have the same issues. They are just so big and sit way outside of the concha and ear canal. We will see. The good news is, if they don’t fit or you don’t like them, Costco has an amazing return policy. The bad thing is, after we have so many returns, we quickly figure out what works and what doesn’t and we tend to stay away from what doesn’t work.
      The reason they are bigger is due to the recharge ability which is the reason I mentioned in the video that I want the normal battery option.

      @ricjona1069 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HearingClub So based on all the info I have and the criteria I've set, I'll have to wait for the next generation Philips ITE products. I hope they jump to the 9050 platform for their Custom ITEs but based on Philips previous releases I expect it to be based on the 9040s. Based on your experience with Philips, what are your thoughts?
      Thanks again.

    Do these new Jabra hearing aids work any better with Android phones? My current Enhance Pro 20s are constantly having a variety of connection problems with my Pixel 5a5g running Android 14 and even with my iPad running iPadOS 17.3.1. I've had them for over 4 months and visited the store for help a few times and I'm almost ready to just return them to Costco and get a refund.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All of the Mfi (made for iPhone) hearing aids run better and have less connectivity issues on iPhones. I have no experience with iPads so I can’t speak to that. Do they run better on android? It depends on the phone. The latest Samsung phones seem to work well but anything else is a roll of the dice.

      @@HearingClub Thanks for your reply! If I chose to purchase an "older" iPhone to use JUST to control the hearing aids and use with wifi at home and not get a cell provider for it, how far back can I reliably go .. iPhone 11?, 12? 13? Also any issues you can think of if I did that?

    Brian; love your reviews. Question are all Costco stores now selling the new Jabra "Power Bte" aids? to help us who have profound hearing loss? Generally what is the cost? I now wear KS-10 but plan to change to Jabra -- but ask the questions as I live 250 miles from a Costco.

      Yes all costcos sell the Jabra power bte’s. I believe they are the same as the RIC’s, 1,599.99

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No sir to the 6 months question. You can, however… use more occluding domes. One of the interesting things about nice headphones is they are completely occluding. They sound better, the lows can’t escape. Use more occluding domes.

      Unless is a typo, Costco provides an 180-day trial period/return policy; therefore, if your hearing aids are 120 days old, you would still be within the trial period to return the hearing aids

    Thanks for all of the videos, Brian!
    I have a pair of the Enhanced Pro 20 RIC, but the sound is scratchy, tinny, or too much high frequency to my ears.
    I'm assuming the custom-fit ITE could help round them out with more low-frequency or bass sounds I hope for?
    I got the impression from my fitter (I could be wrong) that the Jabras tend to operate more at the high frequencies. In your experience, could the Phillips 9040s or the Rexton Reach a better choice if I am struggling with the high frequencies?
    Thanks, I hope my questions make sense.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This can all be adjusted via the fitting software. Ask your fitter to increase the lows a bit. You can also adjust them yourself using the equalizer in the app. Try it out and see if you like it. Even if you had customs (ITE, ITC) you could still increase/decrease the lows and highs. Hope this helps!

    Hi Brian, thank you for the updated information. I went by my local Costco after seeing your video. I really wanted to see the size of the Jabra Pro 20 Custom ITC. I have been waiting for a custom in ear version with all the modern features. I was told that, unfortunately, they do not have a sample hearing aid for me to look at. I would need to buy and pay for the set and have impressions made, then wait for my hearing aids to be molded and shipped back. This seems like a crazy process to have to go through, just to see if I even like the look of these hearing aids. I am going to pass for now and see if anything changes as I cannot believe many people will purchase sight unseen. Also, do you have any information on when and if Costco will begin using 3D digital scans instead of the old impressions?

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We have a demo dummy model but it’s not going to be the same as yours. It’s a custom product so they are right, there’s no way to see what yours will look like. Someone with smaller ear canals will have a smaller itc than someone with larger ear canals. There’s a lot of properties that determine the overall size and shape of each individual hearing aid. Everyone is different.

    On this type of hearing aides, does the ear act like a natural ear horn? Also, does this hearing aide have a directional focus program? Although the
    ear itself is directional. By the way, Brian, I love your videos.

    Very good. I have a hearing test next week at Costco and you have been educating me. Watching lots of your videos (big thanks). I think I am leaning toward the Jabra Pro 20. The Phillips has 24 channels but I have not found how many channels the Jabra 20s have. Can you let me know please. Thank you, Doug

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The jabra has 17 channels. This is more than enough. Anything beyond 8-9 channels is plenty to be honest. A lot of brands advertise tons of channels because everyone knows of this specification and think the more channels the better the hearing aid and that is just not the case. I’ve seen some OTC hearing aids advertising 64 channels and they are worthless.

    Unbox away! We get to see what comes with the hearing aids before we buy. Can’t go wrong with that! I am right on the line where having a hearing aid could be beneficial for me. My issue is getting clarity from voices through a speaker. My ideal hearing aid would be one that sounds like my ear buds.

      If you’re indicating that you wish your HA will have audio quality like your current earbuds this is one thing and you can make a hearing compromise in choosing HA like Philips for example, renown for their music sound quality. But if you care primarily for improving your hearing, especially in noisy environment Resound Omnia 9 or latest model, Nexia should be your choice. At Costco GN Resound’s retail version is Jabra Enhance 20 Pro for you.
      So, majority of us with typical senior severe hearing loss in high frequencies and less loss in mid- and low frequencies sound range - need to make a choice between audio music quality and best hearing in noisy environment. One can not have both in today’s premium prescription brands HA.
