Wow Sam, that’s so good to hear! I’m so happy to help sort out some of this very confusing and sometimes misleading information. Keep us updated please on how everything goes!
Nice balanced explanation of the latest hearing aid technology from GN. I used that to purchase the PREMIUM package of the Enhance Select 500. Looking forward the 90-day trial period. I've been a GN ReSound user for about 15+ years. Wanting to step up to the latest technology without having to spend $10K. This maybe the answer.
Yes! I hope people realize they don’t have to spend 10k anymore on stuff that’s out there for a fraction of the price. Let us know how they work for you please 🙏
Love your videos! I just got Rexton Bicores from my local Costco and love them. (I’m listening to your video on them now. )Your videos gave me the courage to make the appointment! Thank you.
You know what, this comment makes me so happy, I’m going to pin it up so everyone can see. That is so great and I’m so happy for you. If you find the right hearing aid and have a good hearing aid fitter taking care of you, this can be life changing.
I tried the Select 300 earlier this year and returned them wasn't impressed with them or the app to much noise to much amplification, do you think there's enough of an improvement that I should give the 500 a shot? I trust your judgement and thanks for the input.
I would go in and try both and see which sounds better. And bring someone with you who’s voice you have trouble understanding. Not every hearing aid place will allow you to try on 3 different brands and actually walk around in a noisy environment to really test out the pose reduction. Take advantage of this fully
I really want help with tv streaming, I have Jabra aids, and can’t spend 299 for there’s,is there a better(cheaper) Plus agree 3 yr warranty,vs 1 yr, because my first pair went bad after 2 years!
Just received the 500s, and I am appalled by the streaming quality. I've used Audicus aids (currently have the Omni 2) for the past few years and although they have not been perfect (hence my curiosity about Jabra), they have served as decent earbud replacements and I've enjoyed streaming hours of music and video through them. My Jabras, on the other hand, are almost literally painful to use for streaming. What gives? I put in a request for reprogramming, but I have my doubts this can be improved enough to make me keep them. I have them connected to an iPhone and have fiddled with the equalizers a bit...I can achieve some improvement, but they are still quite tinny and unpleasant. There are so many things about Jabra that impress me, this is just such a strange fail. I guess I've been spoiled with my other aids.
UPDATE: I finally got a response to my reprogramming request. I was told that they cannot make adjustments to streaming only. They offered to make the overall sound of the aids “smoother.” I decided to try that. It did improve streaming such that it isn’t actively painful to listen to music, but the fullness and richness still isn’t there. If Jabra is going to attach their name to these and tout music streaming as a feature, they need to get with the program. Some of us have experienced better, and this is unacceptable. Has anyone at the company actually used them personally? Your competitors have shown us that “hearing aids aren’t for that” is not something we should just accept. Everything else about Jabra is fantastic.
I have recently decided that it is past time to buy HAs, and I'm leaning heavily toward the Pro 20. Your (and other's) videos have raised a couple questions. 1.) Do ALL Costcos follow best practices, or just select stores? I haven't seen anything to support BP at Costco. 2.) Unfortunately, before I could make an appointment, I broke an arm. What effect will this have on putting the aids on? From what I've seen, it takes some twisting and contorting with both arms to properly insert them. I can easily reach both ears with the "good" arm, but I don' know how critical it is to use two hands. Thanks for your time and the information you provide.
All Costcos are supposed to follow best practices and I’ve worked in 2 different locations that follow best practices, I mean it’s the protocol. It’s our job to do our job. I’m not a genie or a soothsayer so I can’t see what the others are doing and don’t know exactly what they are doing but I imagine they do their job lol. I’m sorry just not sure how to answer this other than, ya they should. As far as the broken arm, do you live alone or do you have someone there with you. If you have someone with you then you should be ok. If you are on your own, you may have trouble.
@@HearingClub I understand. I think I'll find out more when I have an appointment. the interview can work both ways.😁 As for the arm, I put that question in the comments in the hope that someone reading through here may be willing to share a similar experience. Hello, I am using Jabra Pro 20 and do a lot of flying. Do you know any way to stream the aircraft seat screen audio to my Jabra Pro20 ? Will the AirFly Pro Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter work in this case ? Thanks.
Ah, Dr Cliff. IMHO, after watching him once I said never again. He acts like he is the hearing aid god and he knows all. His bashing of all other places and types of HA are junk if they don't get sold by him. I have a friend that was going to buy from him and after telling him about Costco's pricing he followed up and bought his Jabra pro 20's @costco. I love my Jabra pro 20's and glad I watched your channel. I never knew what I was missing until I test drove them and bought mine.
Love your videos!!! I'm going to Costco in 2 weeks and going to get the Jabra 20's. I live about an hour away so will they be able to make adjustments remotely?
Absolutely. Once they do your initial fitting, we are then able to make most adjustments remotely as long as you have a smartphone and have your hearing aids connected to the phone and Jabra enhance pro app.
Great video I'm going to Costco this weekend to buy the top Jabra model. I had the old Phillips that took a battery I think it was called 9010 and they didn't work with my Samsung phone so I stopped using them I'm very excited to get these new premium Jabra hearing aids.
Thank you for the great content. Very informative and gives me the information I need to move forward with 500. Sadly there is no Cosco close to me, so getting the premium package with the 500 is a must.
I remain unsure as to whether the direct purchase of the Jabbra 500 utilizing a privately obtained audiogram can achieve best practice level care. Isn't in ear testing required ? I am currently trialing the Oticon ($6k !!) and I have ordered the Jabba select 500 to compare. These will be my first set of hearing aids.( moderate to sever high freq loss with tinnitus)
You are correct, not ALL of the best practices procedure and protocols can be done without an in person appointment and even then, an in person appointment may or may not do REM. There are several “best practice” procedures. Never heard the term “best practice level care”
If I may ask an additional question. Will any audiologist who does in ear measurements be able to test the Jabra select 500 , or any other hearing aids for that matter?
This all depends on how bad your hearing is, how loud the hearing aid is programmed and how loud you set the hearing aids yourself. Someone with a mild loss will get a much longer battery time than someone with a severe loss. However, they should last all day.
Thanks for the information. I just purchased these hearing aid a month ago and they are awesome! I've been wearing hearing aids for 8 years. Quick questions. When you refer to noise reduction using app are you referring to restaurant mode?
Kind of. With Jabra, you have several options to attack the background noise. One option is changing programs to the restaurant or noise program. There should also be a noise filter option in the app as a second option.
have had my pro 20s (mild to moderate high freq loss) for a couple of months from our local costco (juneau, AK). no complaints whatsoever. pretty darn effective, not just amplification, but noise reduction, feedback resistance, all-day comfort. i don't think you can do much better that these, especially at the costco price point. hope you have as much luck as i have!
I have had the Costco Enhance Pro 20 for two months now. I notice no improvement in my hearing. I consider my loss just inconvenient as trying to hear a cashier across the desk or when ordering food etc. I have another appointment in about three weeks. Do you think a different brand, ie Rexon or Philips 9050 would give me better results or should I just return them. Thank you.
Brian, Been wearing some Widex hearing aids for 10 years and considering getting new ones, they are the behind the ears RIC type. I know from watching your videos that the Jabara top end hearing aids are highly ranked. Does Costco also sell the premium package like offered on line with 3 year support or warranty? Also, what is your current choice for best Costco hearing aid? I would be more comfortable dealing with a Costco rep than ordering online. Thanks. You really provide a great service with your videos. ……Joe
thanks a lot for the kind words Joe! Right now, I would probably recommend the Philips or Jabra hearing aids since rexton is having some issues... I would try both the Jabra and Philips and see what you like better, which ones sound better etc... go demo both and let us know what you decided to do.
I was at a senior breakfast last month and a bunch of us were sitting around our table comparing our hearing aids and apps. Lol what a Boomer thing to do!Those of us who had bought from Costco were very satisfied with product and service. I may look young but I’m on Medicare. which pays nothing for HA.

She’s pretty excited. (I heard the guy trashing Costco too. Bad form … he was actually saying the 6 month trial was bad. Seriously). Anyway, thanks for these videos!
I upgraded my older Jabra hearing aids to the Jabra Enhance 500 hearing aids. They won’t stay paired to my IPhone while using the phone. I returned them. Highly dissatisfied with them.
Yes! I’m waiting for Jabra to get me some links so I can share them with you all. I’ll let everyone know when it’s active, I’m going to have affiliate links so I can get a little chunk of change for anyone that wants to try the Jabra’s because of my videos. I’ll update you in a day or 2
Great video. I'm not a Costco member and we don't have one in the area (small beach town). Learned so much from this video. Living in a high humidity area, my main concern was not only the capabilities but the affect of water and sweat. My original Resound was great until sweat got into it, making me replace the tiny battery more than usual.
Well I washed mine in the washer and dryer and they’re fine! I would definitely go with the enhance select aids, they are amazing hearing aids for a great price and one of the best companies out there, period.

This isn't available for Iphone. The brochures advertise Auracast on the Jabra pro 20 hearing aids. I purchased with the need for auracast. This is false advertising. Any idea when auracast will be available for the Iphone I talked to Jabra tech support. Once she found out what I wanted she wouldn't stop talking so I could ask when, then she hung up on me
@@HearingClub Auracast isn't available for the Iphone. The brochures advertise Auracast on the Jabra pro 20 hearing aids. There are no small print or astric disclamers telling us that it isn't available for the number one phone the IPhone. I purchased with the need for auracast. This is false advertising. I talked to the guy at Costco that did the hearing test and configured my hearing aids. I told him I needed Auracast and he confirmed it was there. I picked the Jabra pro 20 for that reason. The Phillips 9050 isn't available yet and the other brand is being honest indicating that it needs a software update before Auracast will work. He also installed the Jabra phone app on my Iphone so he knew I was using a Iphone . Again it is false advertising. It also fraud selling a product that isn't there. I'm 75 years old so it is elder fraud also. Going on the offence when your wrong only irritates people. You say you want people to trust you. You should bring this issue to their attention. Any idea when auracast will be available for the Iphone if ever???
Nothing beyond 9 or 10 channels. If you have a hearing aid with 3 channels, a 9 channel will outperform it, for sure. But no, no studies have confirmed that a hearing aid with 64 channels for example will outperform a hearing aid with 9
lol trust me my friend, we are all impatiently waiting. It should have been here by now. I’ll let you know as soon as we get it I promise. I wouldn’t leave you hangin.
I'm confused from watching the video. You say that the Jabra Enhanced Select 500 has 12 channels while the Costco Enhanced Pro 20 has 7 channels yet you imply that they are equivalent. Aren't more channels better?
The Costco enhance pro 20 has 17 channels. They are not equivalent. Can you tell me where in the video I say they are equivalent and the 29 has 7 channels
Auracast isn't available for Iphone. The brochures advertise Auracast on the Jabra pro 20 hearing aids. There is no disclaimer in small print or astric indcating it isn't available for IPhones. I purchased with the need for auracast. I decided to purchase the Jabra pro 20 because that was supposed to be the only hearing aids from Costco with fully functioning Auracast. The costco tester and installer confirmed the Pro20 aids had auracast and installed the Jabra phone app on my Iphone so he knew it was for Iphone. Why would this not be false advertising. Further it is fraud and I'm 75 so this is elder fraud. I posted a reply a bit ago and It got deleted so this is my second try now at the comment level. Brian you videos are great keep them up. But you want people to trust you so you need to make people aware Auracast isn't available for IPhones Any idea when auracast will be available for the Iphone.
Well auracast is brand new and still being developed across different devices. It’s going to take some time. I don’t consider it fraud at all. It’s a brand new technology and brand new ideas and technologies take time to fully implement. Just my 2 cents. I appreciate the support but we all have to wait for these things to be developed. I will look into this and see what I can find and hopefully have some updates and answers for you. I promise you, I will have some news for you and report back. Just make sure you are subscribed so you get notified when the new videos come out. I’ll start looking into this now. Cheers 🍻
@@HearingClub Thanks I will watch for updates. I got a degree in business data processing 50 years ago and worked in the IT sector for thirty+ years. I know all about the development of new products. No where in the publicity is there any indication that development on the hearing aid part is still under development. I'm not blaming you. You have been mislead as much as the rest of us. Bluetooth is a old tech that has been slowly evolving. There are no surprises. The only difficulty is creating a universal paring with Auracast and not allowing customers to use the $40 Auracast transmitters for TVs instead of the $250 Jabra bluethooth 5.3/Auracast transmitter. While ranting I want to hear sound from natures sound scoops not from behind the ears. I had hopes for the microphone in the ear option but I was persuaded to not go with that option yet. Sound is a wave of a different frequency than say wifi. With todays CPU power it is conceivable that feedback can be eliminated completely so a microphone can fully function in the ear canal along with the SPEAKER (I used to rail against computer people that would use tech terms to try to make themselves sound more intelligent) it's not a receiver.
@@HearingClub Again auracast is new but just a small improvement of bluethooth. Bluetooth 5.3 with a non Jabra lockout is implemented with their expensive $250 TV transmitter. The difficult part is allowing auracast from the intended public locations but not allowing customers to use the inexpensive auracast/Bluetooth 5.3 transmitters for their TVs and computers. The brochures indicate that these hearing aids have auracast but it isn't available. The is by definition false advertising. I was sold hearing aids and specially expressing my need for working auracast which it isn't. That is also by definition fraud. When if ever will it be available
20 vs 500 ? Your presentation is confusing, Finally 12 channel vs 17 channels, Now I get it but I have forgotten what you said about features. I have to watch the vid again to be sure what I need to know or go to the manufacturer site.
Not a bad idea to read the Jabra website but HA websites are not known for the quality of their info. The Jabra Pro line are prescription HAs you buy through Costco. They are the best. All the others are in the Jabra Enhance Select line which are sold Direct to Consumer HAs and not as high tech although the 500 comes very close and is a good choice if you can’t or won’t get the Costco Pro prescription model.

Do more channels provide better performance in noisy environments?
Nothing beyond 9 or 10 channels. If you have a hearing aid with 3 channels, a 9 channel will outperform it, for sure. But no, no studies have confirmed that a hearing aid with 64 channels for example will outperform a hearing aid with 9
@@HearingClub Thanks!!!!!!
When is the Philips 9050 model is coming to Costco? Please tell us
lol trust me my friend, we are all impatiently waiting.
You didn’t say the Pro 20’s have 7 channels. I believe they misunderstood.
But you want people to trust you so you need to make people aware Auracast isn't available for IPhones
Any idea when auracast will be available for the Iphone.
When if ever will it be available
cliff ???
🤔
Can I get a Jabra Enhanced 500 OTC sent to me by you?
20 vs 500 ? Your presentation is confusing, Finally 12 channel vs 17 channels, Now I get it but I have forgotten what you said about features. I have to watch the vid again to be sure what I need to know or go to the manufacturer site.
Just pay attention to the video, it’s all in there. Take some notes 😉
