    I am one of the ones that complained that the Rexton BiCore were absolute horrible, the sound amplification for EVERYTHING around me was terrible, I was not able to understand group conversations, restaurants or God forbid outdoors. I sincerely hate those.
    I then found the Signia Charge & Go 7-IX, and OMG…. what a difference! The Signia 7-IX are simply the best, it resolved all of the issues I experienced with the Rexton and beyond.
    I am very happy to hear the Reach are the same as the 7-IX, and if true…..let me tell you, they will then be considered the best just as the 7-IX.
    The one thing that you haven’t mentioned which is big for me, is that the Signia 7-IX gives you the opportunity to answer phone calls and talk without having to have the cellphone right by your mouth; I can now answer calls and have the cellphone elsewhere.
    I hope that all the new Reach user have the same very happy experience I have with the Signia 7-IX.

    This is great news! I'm one of those guys who wrote you about the bluetooth connectivity issues with my BiCores. I hope they're really fixed them! The additional new features you described sound great too. I've got 3 more weeks left in my 6-month return policy. I'm definitely gonna switch out my BiCored for these Reach's.

    Yesterday i had a hearing test at Costco. I was considering the Rexton Reach but the employee was trying to guide me to the Phillips. It was quite obvious the employee was quite biased and favored the Phillips. I have decided to go back next week and demo the Rexton's. After watching this video I'm town between the Rexton and Phillips. This was a very nice video that was very informative.

      Well today I went back to Costco and went with the Rexton. My hearing will present some difficulty in adjusting the hearing aids. I was told that I have what's called the 'cookie bite' which I understand presents a challenge for the Costco Hearing Dept. and for me. I'm hoping there will be some positive results. Thanks for the informative video!

    I bought mine about a 2 month ago, I called cosco asking about the new reach because I was having issues with the ones I bought ,and they said that maybe I just needed to get them programmed again that this new reach haven’t been in the market that long that ,all hearing aids have the same issues that if I changed them and didn’t like them I couldn’t not go back to the bicore because they are getting ready to discontinue.

    Hi very good video, can you tell me why costco won't program Rexton for tinnitus masking?

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      i have no idea, i really don't. The hearing aids have the capability but we don't have access to it, that is the ONLY difference between costco aids and others. I still don't know why. But i can tell you the tinnitus masking feature in my opinion is pointless. All it does is play a constant noise in your ears that in my opinion, makes it harder to hear people when they're talking because you have this noise playing all the time.

    I love my Rexton Reach so far, I've had them for less than a week. I can't find this question in my tutorials. Can you raise and lower the volume directly from the buttons on heart aids?

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you can but they need to be programmed that way. I think the default setup is one aid controls the volume of both and one changes programs, if there are programs setup. But your fitter can set it up any way you want. And thank you for the feedback Louise!
      To find out how the buttons are setup, with the hearing aids in your ears, try the up button on one of the aids and keep pressing it and listen for the volume change, if they start getting louder, you have your answer and try this with each side, one at a time.

So after peeling myself off rhe ceiling I went about the process of getting the screen replaced. Wouldn't you know it but right after the screen was replaced the Bluetooth started to work much better. Perhaps the old screen was interfering with the Bluetooth radios or somesuch? Great Vids Brian. 👍 First one that has spoken out about the issues with the Bicores. Mine are about 2 months old and I’ve been back about 4 times including a warranty repair that was moot as issues still remain. Biggest one is volume drop of about 30% in either one or the other. Switching off/on does not always reset as it may still have residual power. Back into the charger fixes it. This drop occurs at least once a week. I’m returning them at the end of month for refund. But I’m still undecided on Reach, Jabra or even the Philips. Sure they have a bigger form factor but do most things pretty well. Thoughts?

    Hi, now that it has a few months since the introduction of the Rexton reach, what is the feeling of the community are people returning them? Are they good? Are there any issues with them compared to the Phillips 1950. That is what Costco suggesting I get the 1950 but I believe mostly becausethey have no problems with 9050 has nothing to do with technology or what is best for me.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m gonna answer this in 2 parts.
      1. People are loving the reach and I haven’t had any returns or issues and we are fitting a lot more because of this.
      2. You need to try all 3 aids, bring someone with you to Costco and walk around the “very noisy” store which is a great place to test the hearing aids. Go with the hearing aids that allow you to understand the best. You really have to see what sounds best to you. And when you are testing them, make sure you are talking with that person the entire time, come back, try the other pair. You will know which ones you like. If they all sound the same, it probably won’t matter which ones you go with. Also consider the app, which app has the features you like the most. I’m gonna be working on a video soon comparing all 3.
      3. Although the Jabra is still probably my favorite hearing aid, we have had the most Jabra returns. Low or bad streaming “phone call” quality and low volume, microphone issues and the most Bluetooth issues. I’m going to find a way to wear and test all 3 for a long period of time to see if I like the others any better.

    Called both Rexton & the Costco hearing center in Burbank today, 10-28-24, about the firmware upgrade for Bluetooth LE . Per Rexton, the LE firmware upgrade is available at hearing centers but not at Costco and was told it's up to Costco to decide when they're going to have it available. The Costco hearing aid person said they just had a meeting and the LE upgrade was mentioned but no time frame was provided as to when it'll happen. Anybody have any inside information about the firmware upgrade?

    I’ve had the Reach for about 3 months. I noticed sound volume issues and didn’t realize why until recently. When connected to a device (iPhone and iPad) the ambient sound is digitally reduced by the hearing aid. When disconnected the reduced sound continues for several seconds. This lag is a big problem because often the reason why I disconnect from the device is due to having to respond to someone. When that person
    spoke to me I couldn’t hear due to the reduced sound while connected and then when I ask them to repeat it after disconnecting I still cannot hear due to the lag time before the sound comes back to the volume setting. This is a hassle that happens multiple times in a day. I’m thinking of returning the aids if it doesn’t have a fix.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This doesn’t sound right. Why would you need to hear background noise to talk to someone? You said this background noise filtering last for several seconds(lag) when disconnecting and this keeps you from hearing someone talking? It sounds like when you disconnect them from the phone, it defaults to a different program, why are you disconnecting them from the phone. I would read the manual or watch some videos on how to use the app.
      You are officially the first person to report an issue with these to me, I really think it may be user error. Noise filtering is something people want and something that helps with understanding people talking when there’s background noise.

    • @donkrause3410
      @donkrause3410 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’ll be more clear. Let’s say I’m watching TH-cam. The hearing aid is automatically providing ambient noise reduction to assist me in hearing what I want to hear which is the TH-cam video. Then someone in the room asks me a question. I cannot understand that person due to the ambient noise reduction. So I turn off the TH-cam video and ask the speaker to repeat what he said. I still can’t hear it because it takes 5-10 seconds for the noise reduction to stop. Suddenly the sound goes back to the normal level and I can hear the speaker clearly. Here’s another example: I’m at a gathering searching on a browser on my iPhone and doing this on and off. In between I’m in conversation. Because I’m using my phone the sound volume keeps going up and down due to the noise reduction that’s activated when I’m intermittently using the phone. Again, I can’t hear during the lag time before the noise reduction ends.

    • @donkrause3410
      @donkrause3410 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I went back to Costco to see what could be done about the problem described above. It turns out that it was not user error as you suggested. The problem as explained to me was that the noise suppression was incorrectly set at 40% (meaning you only hear 40% of the background noise) which the specialist said is ordinarily set at 70% for most patients. I had him set it at 85% because I’m usually in a very low noise environment. The lag time cannot be lowered as this is just the length of time for switching to and from streaming given the current technology. Maybe other brands have different lag times. However, at 85% the lag time doesn’t really matter much.

    I received my Rexton Reach almost a week ago from our local Costco. Day and night compared with the previous Serene I had for 6 weeks. I love those Reach ❤
    But I had a glitch today, listening an Audible book: the sound would cut in one ear for a second or 2, then come back. After a few seconds or 1/2 minutes, it would cut again in the same ear or the other. I don't think that it's the same Bluetooth disconnect that affected the previous Rexton, I never had to reconnect the hearing aids with my iPhone since day one. Have you seen this glitch?
    I still love these HA and how they perform inside and outside

      Great question! This is something that seems to happen with most hearing aids. My Jabra’s do the same thing sometimes. I noticed that I could have the cheapest set of wireless Bluetooth earbuds and take them to the gym, listening to podcasts, music and they never once do this. I have a great connection, 100% of the time. But with my $1,600 Jabra hearing aids and pretty much all the hearing aids I test and try, the random 1 second cut offs happen, the same way you explain it. I don’t know why.

    Great review! I’ve fit close to 70% of my members with the BICORE and fortunately did not have the same issues you spoke of-only a handful. I absolutely love how great the Reach sounds compared to our other products. Add that with great battery life and much smaller travel charger, and it’s just a no brainer for the majority of my members.
    One aspect I think gets over looked by a lot of AUDs and HIS’ is the dome system. It is hands down the best for controlling the acoustics in the ear. The sleeve domes are the closest to a mold as you can get and are often times more comfortable. I wish Jabra and Philips had similar domes as most canals are not round, but oval shaped which the sleeve dome mimics very well.

      I’ll probably upgrade so I can hear various voices in groups. The Bi-Cores seems to be losing the setting that the Costco tech set me at. I somehow can mainly hear amplified high pitches and very soft mids and lows which I am able to hear. The closed domes may be blocking out the mids and lows from the outside surroundings. I would suggest if the mids and lows can also be amplified as well when closed domes are installed. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you for making these Rexton hearing aid videos.

Do you think your hearing loss is probably similar to mine? I use VA aids, and they do help a lot in many situations, but I can't hold up my end of the table when I lunch with five other friends in a crowded restaurant unless the person is focusing on me. Can't use them to listen to music, especially piano, because they make it sound tinny. But they're free -- what would a comparable but better civilian aid cost?

If they don't do any better, you have 6 months to return them for a FULL refund. it can't hurt to try. Godbless and have a good night brother. I would say it depends. When someone brings in their aids that need to be repaired, we know our patients really well and the folks that have severe to profound losses are usually offered loaners because we know they can’t be without their aids. For other folks that can still get by, we don’t proactively offer loaners but if they ask, we will provide them IF we have available loaners. We like to save them for folks that really need them.

    i have tried the new rexton for 3 weeks. the sound quality is amazing. the problen with them is their blue tooth is horrible compared to the Jabras. they have poor distance. My Jabras had alot of feedback even is they were just laying on a table. is it possible that my costco fitter has the gain to high? Love all you do. your fan on Arizona. bill

    I recently bought the Jabra enhanced Pro 20 from Costco. Unfortunately, they will not connect with my chromebook via bluetooth like my KS10's do. Will the Rexton Reach's connect to a laptop? That's a dealbreaker for me. Thank you for your great reviews!

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure, I doubt it. The phonak hearing aids use a different type of Bluetooth or take a different approach. They aren’t locked down like all the others. Stick with your ks10’s if it’s that important to you.

    • @HearingClub

      Sure! All of the Costco hearing aids can accommodate very mild to severe/profound hearing loss.

      @@HearingClub That is not what my Costco hearing fitter told me at my last visit. I have mid to severe hearing loss. I had the Jabras and could not hear well on my right hearing aid (muffled sound). He tried different domes which did not better the issue. At the end, he told me that my hearing loss was too bad and that the Jabras would not help me and he even suggested I needed a cochlear implant. Yeah, right??!! Plus, he rushed me through the appointment (4:30pm) and said he needed to clock out and that he did not have more time for me. Seriously??

    If the companies that only make hearing aids don't adjust quickly, they are going to find themselves out business. At the end of the day, the difference between most aids and most upper-end ear buds is getting much smaller every year. It will be trivial for a company like Apple or Samsung to spend just a small fraction more to easily eat a big chunk of the aid market.

      I have had my Rexton Reach hearing aids for going on a month. Bluetooth with my Pixel 7 has been flawless. The Jabra pro 20 that I initially bought needed to be reconnected multiple times a day. Also, I find that the streaming audio quality is far superior on the Rextons.

    Do they whistle?

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  หลายเดือนก่อน

      All hearing aids CAN whistle of certain conditions are met, wrong done selection, not inserted correctly, etc… there’s a lot of factors. They can yes, or they can work perfectly with no whistle. If fit and programmed correctly, no, they shouldn’t

      Thank you, I am in the process of picking out my first hearing aids. I am seriously considering going to Costco. At present I am torn as to what brand to get there. I was leaning towards Jabra, but now hear from you that Rexton Reach sounds so good, I need to consider them also. Will I be able to try both? As for the whistle question, many have told me that I just have to get used to that and they all do it. I want ones the don't.

      I went to Costco today to ditch my Jabra’s. Too many problems in the first few months, ending with a completely new pair after multiple repairs on the first set. Now they’re(the new set) wigging out on me, one of them anyway. Very interested in the Rexton Reach, but temporarily have some loaner BiCore’s until they get some Reach loaners, and make sure the software issue is fixed. I’m excited to get them.
