SeokSoon Talk I was thinking the same thing!! Then I was thinking why did it bother me so that he wasn't stirring it...? Then I thought I couldn't be the only one who was wondering why he didn't stir it. lol
It is remarkably easy to learn how to keep knives razor sharp A quality Japanese honing block can be less than $20, if you look. I used to work in a restaurant where the Chef used the unglazed bottom of porcelain plates, & did it that way for decades, until I ended up with a cheap plate that had an unnoticed lump in the base & took a massive knick out of a quality blade. Had to have it sent to rehab & I went out & got a proper block while it was away for regrindng ...
The only things unhealthy in this recipe are the added sugar, salt, and the shit ton of coconut milk that was added. Wouldn't say this recipe as a whole is incredibly unhealthy (lots of whole foods and spices and a lack of animal products), but the saturated fat from all that coconut milk, the salt and the sugar definitely prevent this from being worthy of being called a healthy meal. Probably tasty as hell though. Would not think twice about indulging in that deliciousness.
It doesn't contain worrying quantities of harmful substances (carcinogens, for instance) and it's nutritious, therefore it is healthy. If this dish were the only element in a person's diet, or if someone consumed ungodly amounts of it, then you might have a leg to stand on, but this nutritious, balanced meal is just one meal among many. Salt is not detrimental to our health; sugar isn't; fat isn't. It's all great as long as the daily intake doesn't consistently cross certain boundaries. An apple isn't healthier than chocolate. A diet heavy on apples might be healthier than a diet heavy on chocolate. If any meal can be labeled heathy, then this one can too. A normal diet is a varied diet and a good diet is one that, more often than not, leaves us satisfied, not bloated and depressed after eating. Sorry to get all pedantic, but it drives me crazy when people pretend that their rabbit food makes them healthier than someone who eats a regular balanced diet.
It was a lovely dish. In my part of the country dishes made with coconut milk is so often eaten. I would suggest two changes. If veggies are cooked in closed pans the flavour is not lost. Coconut milk upon heating separates and oil comes out. If the taste of coconut milk is to be preserved it is better to add it just before putting out the fire. So my suggestion would be cooking the entire dish with diluted coconut milk and adding the second can after cooking all vegetables, simmering for a minute or two and garnishing with basil leaves. By the way, you cook really peacefully.Thank you.
Lekshmy Ram The way I see it is that if the pot is uncovered, some moisture evaporates which serves to intensify the flavor. As well, flavor is not lost because the ingredients impart their flavors to the cooking fluids.
m. taylor You share a valid point. But Water soluble vitamins are lost in open cooking. Also cooking takes longer. The natural flavour of these vegetables is not so intense. With moisture the natural oils are also vaporised. That is why the steam of dishes have an aroma of ingredients. So open cooking serves to diminish the flavour.
Lekshmy Ram Imo, I don't think the simmering temperature would reach the smoking point of the coconut oil to vaporize it. Whether covered or not, heating any foods may denature the ingredients or some vitamins, and flavor would only change significantly if the food gets burnt...but here he does not heat it for long. Also, most store bought coconut milk has already undergone heating by pasteurization. As for separation of the milk, I think you are referring to flocculation. From my past experience with rendering fat only the water evaporates & the aroma is preserved.
m. taylor Thank you for the information. May be you are right. I use fresh coconut milk only. Therefore I don't know about pasteurization of the same. Fresh coconut milk tastes best in curries if it is just warmed. And also, it may be just my taste conditioning!!
You can re-grow the lemongrass if you cut it about 1-2 inches from the bottom, then put it in water until the roots grow. Then plant them. Sometimes I peel it back a little until I see the root bumps to see if there is a good chance to re-grow them.
I am Thai and green curry is one of our family favorites but we couldn't find time and patience to cook the Curry paste I really appreciate this cooking video of yours.
I’m probably gonna say this in every video but I really love your videos I can watch them all day long and I do LOL I even went out and got some of your tools for the kitchen.
You cook so so delicious I see and feel the test of coconut milk in my country we used coconut milk for everything congratulations 🎈 you are the best chef 👩🍳
Wow! I made your spinach curry yesterday and it was so good I am making your Thai Curry right now! It taste sooo fresh, sooo good!!! And I’m about to make your apple tart! Thank you for these delicious and wholesome recipes.
Peaceful Cuisine has finally hit 1M subscribers! Its amazing to see how far this channel has come and I'm glad i stuck around to see you get this far and hopefully you keep going! Congratulations and best wishes!
Soy milk is great. As long as it's organic and you only drink one or two glasses of it a day it can aid in the prevention of breast cancer, contrary to popular belief raise testosterone slightly, and improve your LDL cholesterol. Go ahead! Nothing but good stuff. Any plant milk will be healthier than animal milk though. (If some people are skeptical, I will gladly provide direct links to scientific literature as a basis for my claims.) Also, if you are interested I am happy to share some vegan tips and tricks and easy, quick, and healthy recipes with you if you want. I love helping people make the switch to veganism. It may seem a bit overbearing at first, but with some support you'll see it's much easier than it might seem. Your body and the animals will thank you! :D
Hello, greetings from Indonesia. I've been your subscriber for about one year. Love watching your videos and trying your recipes, not only because it's healthy, since it's not really hard to find spices in here and not too expensive, so why not give it a try. I wish you could make more vegan asian cuisine videos. Thanks for your hard work :)
What step of the ones shown above you cannot achieve to do yourself?? And if you repeat this and other recipes several times, you slowly begin to make them your own way and thus really start cooking. You will eventually reach this level. Just keep on trying.
Your videos are perfection and i love the music you pair with them:), for a minute i thought the song during the first few secounds was bellas lullaby fron twilight
You didn't specify what the three things were you put in the wok: Tofu and eggplant of course, but what kind of mushrooms. Here in Finland we have different kinds of mushrooms, so it's nice to know what those were. I still remember when you were cooking in your old apartment and now I notice 1000000 subs, you deserve it
I followed your instructions on your website and made this recipe. I love it! I really appreciate you making the fresh curry paste. The kefir lime leaves smell so fragrant as they are chopped... as well as the lemongrass. My only recommendation: when people add the soy sauce, I recommend that they add 1/2 tablespoon at a time and taste. I stopped at 1/2 tablespoon because with the 2tsp of Himalayan salt, it was already quite salty. Thank you for your hard work!
I tried cooking it and it tasted sooooo good! But I took an advice from the comments and fried the curry paste before adding the coconut milk. I also did not add the coriander leaves as I didn't like the taste of coriander, and my curry became brown hahaha but still tasted as delicious! Thanks Ryoya for sharing this recipe!!!
For a second I thought my keyboard stopped working from drooling all over it while watching this video. Green curry is by far my most favorite Thai dish ever!!
You make me want be a vegan now. 🤣. Love your cooking from the day one and will continue support you❤️👍🏻🍀. It's 11:50pm in 🇿🇦. Gonna 😴 now. Wish you have wonderful week ahead.
Video was so pleasing to watch!! Loved it. I think the song was a little much though. Am I supposed to feel sad or somber when watching kitchen magic happen??
I was seriously waiting for him to stir that curry
SeokSoon Talk me the whole time
edit: omg carrot!
SeokSoon Talk I was thinking the same thing!! Then I was thinking why did it bother me so that he wasn't stirring it...? Then I thought I couldn't be the only one who was wondering why he didn't stir it. lol
LOL me too! I keep asking to myself when? when? when he'll stir the curry to mixed them!
and it's pretty annoying for me :(
SAMEEEE
I was getting so nervous when he kept filling up the pot. TOO FULL TOO FULL!
Same 😂
Kellie Montgomery IKR~ He seem so chill in the video, I wonder how it was actually like when he was filming hahah
Me too lol I thought it would spill
Right, I was getting a little stressed and nervous but he was so confident. I was like, what is this clown car phenomenon pot?? Can I buy it too?
Andréaloha
SAMEEEE!
At 3:32 I was annoyed that the jar was out of focus, but when he removed the lid the coriander seeds could be seen beautifully in focus. That is art.
Hearing how sharp your knives are on your cutting board make me so sad about the state of mine 😭
same -___-
lol same :/

As a Thai, i would say that its the most peaceful and beautiful way of doing a green curry. Normally no one could ever think its a peaceful thing😊😊
料理動画なのに癒されると言う不思議な感覚。
Whenever I'm stressed out your videos make me feel so at peace with the world ♡
i don't understand how videos like this get any dislikes lol how do you feel such a strong negativity for a cooking video
I agree! :(
Oliviaaa Murphyyy grrrr food is bad
The Freebooter this is so healthy though

looks delicious! but if you fry the curry paste with a bit of oil first before adding the coconut milk, the curry will have an even better fragrant!

Lekshmy Ram You're very fortunate to get fresh coconut milk. Even the whole coconuts I buy from stores may be stale.

So peaceful and calming☺️makes me wanna try and be a vegan. I'll change to soy milk for a start!
Yan Cheung this could still be an excellent dish to add to your routine.
Yan Cheung try almond milk it's more tasty than soy
I love chia/rice milk! Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can buy it pre-mixed, but you can also mix it yourself :)

This level of cooking is something I dream to, but never will, achieve.
Eunice Dukha this is basically a tutorial. Could give it a shot. Just taste everything as you go.

普通というか茶色🍛のカレーよりグリーンカレーの方が好きー
I am so impressed that not once did you stir the curry while it was cooking.
OMG this chef made green curry paste from scratch using raw materials in Japan. It's incredibly hard. Two thumps up.
見終わった後、映画一本見たのか?ってくらい満足したw
