ThatDamnBlonde .. It's the enjoyment of the process, ingredient control, learning a valuable skill that may be used to show affection and love to others, mindfullness and just enjoying cooking as a hobby.
I've never thought to use hummus as a sauce for pasta. What a great idea! (One of my favorites is to make a "dressing" for pasta using tahini thinned with lemon juice and water. If you add sauteed tofu for protein, it is very tasty.)
Chickpeas are a great source of protein, plus the pasta he's using is made with lentils which also happen to be high in protein. There's really no need to put tofu in there, I guess it would be personal preference
As a Lebanese man who makes Hummus quite often. Disregard what others say about particular spices or adding lemon juice. Hummus is comfort food and always a side dish, you make it like you like to eat it. Using it as a sauce for pasta is unheard of but I immensely enjoy the idea of it. Also the Hummus looks very smooth and silky, perfect.
At first I was thinking "why no lemon or spices?" but mixing it with the veggies and the pasta makes sense to use a "flavour neutral" hummus and let the other ingridients shine, although the lemon juice would bring up the onion and the mushrooms I think. Great idea, I'll try pasta with hummus next week, maybe adding some spinach to the hummus.
Ahh I'm so happy you're back! Your cooking videos are so therapeutic to me! I love this less complicated recipes because they are more practical for daily cooking. Keep 'em coming pls :)
If I am being honest he's the culinary version of Bob Ross, soft spoken showing us the amazing things you can do with the healthiests foods all the while having that calm music to make you feel more calm and relaxed,
try soaking the chickpeas for 48 hours, changing the water every 6 hours and cooking them with new water for a better digestion and nutrient absorption :D love your videos and recipes, either easy or complicated: they're pure art! greetings from Brazil!
I did not understand a single word that he said but still enjoyed. The video angles, cinematography, his soothing voice, the background music, ASMR like sound made by pasta, the editing, literally everything was on point. Well done! P.S. add some lightly steamed broccoli to make it taste better.
I'm glad you decided to make easier recipes. Probably 99% of your recipes I would never be able to make because you always used either hard-to-find ingredients or some appliance regular people don't own. I love your channel and hope you keep making these videos. :)
When a bit of green appears in the center of garlic cloves, it's an indication that the garlic has begun to age and is about to sprout. This green portion is harmless, but it does have a slightly bitter flavor and people generally remove them before the rest of the clove is used.
I don't understand japanese but he sounds so sweet and nice and genuine. Also his videos are amazing. I love this channel honestly. Keep up the good work! :)
Even when you opened a new can of tahini you're being so graceful. Such a mindful living. as a hummus and pasta lover, definitely wanna try out this recipe. Thank you for sharing.😊
Few suggestion regarding hummus from a hummus junkie: 1) Don't skip lemon juice in your hummus (or maybe you just don't like it?) 2) Use some baking soda while soaking chickpeas, or, even better, dry-roast soaked ones with few teaspoons of baking soda before cooking them. This is done to dissolve chickpea skins, and you can rinse them off after they're cooked. Results in way way creamier hummus. That's the way they do it in Israel ) Tried that once and never went back :) 3) Add a bit of cumin 4) Remove green garlic cores to make it milder. Of course this is all optional but maybe you'll like it :)
I really like hummus in pasta. I tend to add some lemon juice to boost it a bit if I have it as is. I also really like to add some hummus to a tomato sauce for creaminess. Lovely recipe. Thank you!
I like pasta with hummus ! It's delicious! It was a weird combo at first but i had nothing for sauce in my fridge except hummus so i tried and feel in love with the texture.
I usually do this to pasta too and my family finds it weird, I however, think it tastes delicious especially when you play around with flavors for your hummus! I love the sound of saucy pasta! It's so attractive! Lol Thanks for posting!
Good to see you again :D I am making bread starter from your recipe, with golden raisins (it took some time to be ready; around three weeks, it’s cold here now a days. And I’m mixing it with gluten free flour for the first batch) but uh the smell and the satisfaction, hopefully this weekend I’ll bake something with it. Thank you so much for all the peace and support you provide us in our kitchens.
thank you so much for starting to make these simple every day kind of recipes. These kind of recipes are so important to me! And I love this unique and tasty idea of trying hummus with pasta... I think it would be yum! I guess I'll just have to try to find out!
Mmmm this is an Arabic recipe, so I will tell you how we eat it in Egypt, basically it's a dipping sauce, like we eat it with bread and Fried Chicken and potatoes, there are lots of ways to eat hummus but we never put it on pasta, but this is great you done it very well, hope you love it
Awesome idea! I've never heard of anyone making pasta with hummus before, but the idea of it kind of makes me think of pasta with pesto. Sounds delicious:)
I recently discovered your channel and videos. Your videos are fantastic! I'm definitely a new fan. I've happily been going through a lot of your content. I'd absolutely love to see you do videos on any of these foods/desserts: -Handmade brown rice or quinoa pasta (my favorite) -Vegan Armenian baklava -Vegan brioche bread - Vegan macarons using aquafaba - Vegan naan bread (most naan has dairy) - Vegan éclairs - Vegan Hokkaido milk bread
Loved this....Never thought of pasta/hummus like this but I will def make. I make homemade hummus weekly and use it as a base for salad dressings ect. So, this makes perfect sense. More simple recipes please. Thanks for the Beauty, Grace and Peace.
Hi! I'm Italian and as a pasta lover I must correct you: any "formato" (aka shape) of pasta you choose - no one care whatever the cereal/pulse for the mix is, for any sausage, it must be cooked only after the water (already salted) reaches its boiling! 😉
I loooooooove hummus. Like I'm really addicted to it. Usually I put hummus on cold rice with tomatoes, avocados, mais and yellow onion when I want to make something really quick. I will definitely ry this recipe!
When i make my hummus i usually also add cumin and lemon juice. I have also made a batch of Baba Ganoush as a pasta sauce when i didn't feel like cooking a tomato based one, it was delicious.
I've never heard of hummus with pasta either but I'm intrigued now. Simple flavours and I can't see why they wouldn't go together, might have to try this myself
The cooking looks so beautiful and unique in Lebanon there is alot of vegan food from seeds and hurbs I would love to see you making it. And if you give the hummus a good shake under water to take of its skin it would be much more smooth and tast better its the way we do it here and we add squeeze of lemon juice. Love your work
I love your videos! They get me so excited about cooking, and I love this meal! Super easy and simple yet so yummy! I'll totally be making this tonight. I might add some more veggies to it. Thanx for the inspiration.
YES this is so goooood i love these simple recipes AND ur complicated ones. the simple one is nice because I can actually do it, while the others are beautiful and entertaining
I normally skip ads, those 5 seconds that i have to spend before i end my torture are the longest 5 seconds in my life ever, but when i watch yours i enjoy watching the whole ad because your videos are really joyful and classy and i want to support your work 100%.

perfectly peaceful cuisine :-)
Ebru naber?
Can I just admire your drawer for a moment here. It's so organized I'm tearing up.
Adds to it, doesn't it? Wonderful.
I’d like seeing simpler things you make that you actually eat during the week!
you can make this really simple by using store bought hummus
This was really simple.
I'm pretty sure Amber's point was that they want to see more simple recipes like this instead of his more complex ones.
Which I fully agree with :)

tokyorosa try using hummus as a sauce thickener as well! works amazingly and enlarges your nutrient consumption per meal :D
Chickpeas are a great source of protein, plus the pasta he's using is made with lentils which also happen to be high in protein. There's really no need to put tofu in there, I guess it would be personal preference
It's great with roasted seeds, olives and cherry tomato too. Yumm, yumm. :D
Pasta+chickpeas give you protein without any tofu.
Thanks for sharing the idea! Gonna give it a shot as well :D

I agree the hummus wouldn't need lemon. Instead he could sprinkle some lemon juice on the finished dish. That would be nice.

Awesome recipe! Hummus as a pasta sauce is soooo good. My fave is red pepper hummus with fresh basil and lots and lots of nutritional yeast.
You're right! I've never seen anyone put hummus on pasta, nor have I ever seen hummus made as you've made it.

2) Salt the water
3) Put the Pasta inside the boiling water
4) Follow timing in the package.
