- In this video we pack up our things and leave the Dang Derm Hotel on Khao San Road and head to the local bus station. We decided to take our chances and book our Bangkok to Chiang Rai bus at the station rather than using 12GO asia and booking online. Leaving us with only the FIRST CLASS OVERNIGHT BUS option.
Luckily we found a bus leaving the same night and it was supposed to be a really comfortable one.
Unluckily, it wasn't as comfortable as we thought it was. 😬

Even though we don't seem to enjoy overnight buses - we are taking several over the next few weeks! 😅
As a Thai people, I agree 200% with your seat ergonomic opinion, So difficult to sleep without neck pain when wake up.

We absolutely have :) it's so beautiful!
We did something like that at 2014 but heading south to Nakorn Sritammarath and it took us 12 hours. It was really uncomfortable. Got headdech, neckpain, not enough sleep and so tired becouse we was awake most of the time and i said to myself "never again with bus like this". 5 years later we took a fly down to Trang with Air Asia and it took about 50 mins, so totally we saved almost aday worth. In my opinion, the flight is much better choise but its my personal advice ofc. Anyway thank you for the video :)

@@netvigators107 we used 12goasia and try to find the cheaper options that will still offer some comfort!

I traveled the same way with the overnight train. You get a proper bed. In Vietnam I used the sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sapa. I have never seen that before. Comfortable but very narrow 'beds', can't turn but it is ok for the 6 hours with a midway stop.

@@JordanandEmily if you travel in Vietnam on the train do not book 2nd class sleeper. It is terrible, not even enough headroom to sit. Either first class or just the economy seats. If you break the journey in 2 or more, Hanoi to Saigon, the seats are quite ok.
@@JordanandEmily The Hanoi train station caffee has the best camomile tea I have ever had in my life. Just divine. Lol
The law in Thailand still doesn't allow sleeper buses. I think should be allowed like other countries for sleeping comfort

When we were travelling throigh thailand it was getting easier and easier, we would have been able to catch that flight without any restrictions 😀

Flying is cheaper than the bus and saves 10 hrs
Not cheaper. Bus is cheaper because you don’t need to pay extra for luggages. Especially with 2 or more people.
