I've done an overnight VIP bus from Pattaya to Surat Thani, Donsak pier for the Ferry to Koh Samui and it was fantastic, left Pattaya about 9pm and arrived at the ferry terminal about 7am, slept soundly for about 6 hours. Would thoroughly recommend going overnight as you save paying for accommodation for one night as well!
We are always looking for travel hacks and this wad definitely a winner, for luggage and now for accommodation! We will have to try the overnight next time 🤗
I've used Nakhonchaiair too. Very good service, I think your company would be the same experience. A good idea is to use power banks if your using devices on these long trips.
We loved the vid! What a long journey, at least those reclining seats go pretty far back. Shelbs and I will keep this in mind next time we are heading up that way. Definitely the way to go with all the luggage.
Hey guys, interesting trip on the 1st class bus! We totally agree with you that it's better than taking the train...because we couldn't sleep on the train either. Have a productive time during your working vacation in Chiang Mai! Gar and Ann
Hi Gar and Ann! Hope you are both doing well! We actually slept well even though it was during the day 😅We had a great workaction and now back to making videos 😉
Oh no 2:26 this is def luxury. Look at the service on the bus :) spacious seats, tv. I've taken similar bus like this but in from KL to Penang Malaysia.
Hi, I live in Chiang Mai and used Sombat VIP bus about 4 years ago when I went to a friends wedding in Bangkok. I normally travel by car with my family but this bus was a great option going solo. Very comfortable and I think it was about 780 baht, so the price has hardly risen in 4 years.
Good selection! Sombat Tour is the most business bus to Northern side of Thailand in the normal time... They use the best bus, the best service. among the other bus companies.
Done the overnight travel dozen of times including the VIP buses. Good value for money and relatively comfortable. What I don't like about it: it feels like you travel in a bubble, doesn't feel like you are travelling in Thailand at all and finally they spit you out in the middle of nowhere.
I often take the A1 night bus from Bangkok to my village in Udonthani Province for 550 baht. I ilke it because it leaves at 22:00 Mochit and stops 100 metres from my home at 05:00 in the morning. No weight limit of luggage like an airplane.
I'll need to take your word that this was a good way to travel. I get SO carsick, I couldn't do this. It's better on a train for me. I'll take a 2nd-class sleeper which is only $35. (I'm used to trains, I sleep pretty well on them.) I love Shev's cheeky move with the Lay's potato chip! 🤣 Can't wait to see where you're going next!
Dev was the same unfortunately as it was quite bumpy throughout the trip 🥺 we will have to stick to trains and planes 😂 haha I love my chips! 😂 we are so excited to show you where we go next (we are already there) haha 😉
@@ShevandDev That will be Isaan . Lately, too many vloggers escaping BKK are discovering the charms of Chiang Mai hills. So keep going North and you may beat the other farrangs to Laos. BTW, there was NO sleepers in a sleeper bus. Other countries in the SE Asia do actually provide them and no seats. I've seen them and those buses go overnight between cities saving hotel stay for the backpackers.
Just subscribed to your channel🤩My hubby follows yr channel. Just wanted to let u guys know that you both are so good for each other and so humble the way you both speak. Keep up the good work. Love u guys😘😘😘.
Did the same to Phuket a couple of years ago from the same location you left Bangkok... however it was 14 hours and the bus had only two rows of single seats, being 18 seats in total. Yes its a different experience, and enjoyable, the seats are comfortable and the entertainment system is useful.....you can sleep a bit, and there were 2 major stops for free food and a toilet break. If you don't like flying is a fair alternative, but I'd rather fly given the cost to fly domestic in Thailand is also so cheap........ the long journey over night... your need a swim and a massage after.
I haven't seen you go to the Northeast (Isaan) at all. There is something very interesting there. I guarantee you will be impressed. not defeated by the north
I had traveled with my Indian friend by first class night bus to Chiang Rai like this but not sure whether they were the same since we also got wifi on the bus and the seats were electric massage chairs. Traveling on the night bus was cold that we needed the blankets. Overall it was such a nice experiences
i took an AirAsia flight from Bangkok to ChiangMai for $30 USD, 1 hour 30 min flight. booked 3 months in advance... so if booked early, you can find a great deal. if not.. this is a good deal if train is not prefer.
Always good to book in advance. We don’t as we aren’t too sure of where we are going next until the very last minute. Haha hopefully we can improve on this 🤗😂
Actually there will be another bus company. There is a better car at the same price is Nakhonchai Air. The bus is smaller. The seats are the same as on a business class plane. There are electric device chargers, massage chairs, and single seats throughout the row. Actually, Sombat Tour will have a higher level car. But in 1 day there will only be 1-3 trips that will be a better first class car in this clip that will have a massage chair and a charging port for every seat just like Nakhonchai Air.😁😁🙏
You stopped at a place a bit southeast of the old Sukhothai capital city in Kamphaeng Phet provence. great video! I notice the bus is completely emptied and you guys were able to fold back alway like a bed. But when you do that, it looks you the back person will have no space less that person is also folding back the chair. Would your opinion be any differ if bus the is full? Thanks!
