Thanks Gary Not the biggest of the trip though, I had a couple of really good ones further up the coast when I was away, they’ll be in a future video 👍🎣🐟
Thanks Steve, it was a nice break with great weather for the first week, not loads caught tbh but there was some very good fish later in the holiday which will be in a future video 👍🎣🐟
What a great start to your holiday, and its great to see you getting into some bigger fish. You are right about lure fishing, its so much fun and my favourite too. Having no big heavy box, tripod and stuff is a huge bonus too… Keep em’ coming - i’m watching out for the next one 😁
Wow.. love that mobile style of fishing. Your videos are not just entertaining, but informative too. I am learning from you 😁. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Fantastic fishing, well done Hinny fishing in such beautiful tranquil surroundings. Camping is definitely the way to go, hope you enjoyed your curry and a well deserved beer. Just a thought, god forbid you should ever get into difficulty fishing such remote locations, but do you have a means of raising the alarm for help and do you wear a life vest or some other flotation aid. Apologies for mentioning but important to ensure your safety. Tight lines Hinny.
Great stuff I'm off for a stay at that pub in a months time..no fishing though with the missus...I once had the fish n chips absolutely awesome...if u have food let me know what was nice ...tightlines 😀
Thanks Davey, I’ve had a few different meals in there and it was all delicious so whatever you have I’m sure you will enjoy it. Have a great stay when you go over, it is a wonderful place 👍🎣🐟
@fishinghinny You're very welcome indeed 😊 And we call Coalfish, Saithe too. This mainly applies to the Highlands and Islands, as far as i know.. it's a Scottish Gaelic thing 👍 🎣 keep up your excellent work Hinny 🙏
Great to see you back in Scotland, your trip is going well, great video as usual, we must get back down to Isle of Whithorn, been a couple of years, great all rounder fishing location. 👍
Some nice fish Danielle although I think some of them might have been coalies. Nevertheless you had a busy session. By the way, I love the camouflage jacket ❤🐟
Haha thanks Chris, I like to blend in 😆 Yeh I sometimes struggle to tell the difference as they can look so similar, I know lateral line is different, and eye and jaw too, but sometimes it’s tough to distinguish which is which - I’m sure I will get it eventually 👍
Avery nice video, can I suggest, that you get one of those thin life jackets, as you could get into trouble if you slipped on those rocks on your own. nice to see you having a good time.
We go to the same place every year. The last mark you were at is the mark I fish off if the others are adventurous and do the scrambling to get to the point. Not much luck there for me unfortunately lol. Great content because I love the isle of whithorn.
Remember fishing Tarbert years ago off a small jetty into a Loch , it was so deep we caught lots, species Whiting, Mackerel, Wrasse, Dogfish,Pollack, Coalfish Conger Eel, Thornback Ray Haddock. probably best days fishing ever had.
Great result for you. My daughter and I just got back home from a fabulous cottage near Galdenoch Castle, past Stranraer, and the Pollock fishing on the nearby coves was insane, with a bonus sea trout on our last day 🙂
Have fished Whithorn for 3o years live the place ,burrow head ,Port Patrick very good too it looks like you are in pallmalet it's a gud walk and climb but great spot. X
Wherever you see wee circular indentations in the rocks, they are called 'Carrachs'.. always a sign of good fishing places.. 🎣 Limpets were crushed in those holes and then used as groundbait to attract the Saithe and Lythe 🎣 On an incoming tide. Saithe in particular was a hugely important protein supplement to the indigenous peoples diet x A white lure was always the preferred option btw 👍
Thanks Andrew I had wondered about the holes in the rock and suspected something like that about them as they didn’t look natural. Thanks for your comments and info, it’s all very much appreciated 👍🎣🐟
Just watching it now Danielle. Got to say that the first fish in the video is actually a coalfish . If you notice the straight white lateral line. Still a good fish 👍
Any tips hinny? Iv been on the rocks at marsden South Shields spinning for pollock and only had 1 small one on feathers , iv been trying 28g silver spinners but had no look any tips?
It should pick up soon around our coastline, just keep on trying. I’m not personally a fan of feathers, I much prefer a light setup and lures or spinners, try changing your lure after seven or eight casts different colours and sizes, move around to a different spots, try weed-less lures and work them right on the bottom, you’ll get on the fish eventually 👍🎣🐟
@@fishinghinny thanks for taking your time to get back to me I’m gonna give it a go again this Sunday as the weather is looking to be very hot so hope I can pull one in

Hi Thomas, yeh when I watched the footage back I noticed some looked more like coalies, good size for a Coalie though 🤩👍🎣🐟
Is that burrowhead your fishing? at isle of Whithorn
It was Isle of Whithorn itself, I’ll be having a look along at Burrowhead in a future trip though 👍🎣🐟
Coalie the first fish coalies have a straight lateral line
Yeh, watching it back I think a couple of them may have been coalies, I need to look closer next time 👀👍🎣🐟
well done again thanks
Thanks Dave, much appreciated 👍🎣🐟
Great video Love your energy and enthusiasm £15 rod What make ? I have a Go Outdoors near me at Pallion
