Hi Danielle, many years ago down here in Sussex I used to set up a pennel rig with a small baited hook at the bottom and a large hook above as the cod loved rockling as a bait. This way it saved casting a live rockling. Great video again 👍
Wow Hinney what a session that's unbelievable catching that codling on an already hooked rockling well done !! Well worth getting cold for ...tight lines next big COD just around the corner
Thank you No frost bite that night, but close 😆 It can be a great venue to fish, I’m lucky to have it just around the corner, I could actually bike it there - might do that sometime for a video - bike and fish 🤩👍🎣
Another good watch . Thanks for taking the time to make and share these videos, I can't go fishing because of bad knees and waiting on surgery these are are next best thing so All your youtube additions are appreciated. Take Care and Stay Safe 👍
Great vid! Lively and informative. I caught a pike once that hadn't actually got itself hooked but just wouldn't let go of a perch that had taken my lure. Perch wasn't in too bad shape after it all either.
You have some great fishing up there Danielle. If we had that sort of codling sport round here the beaches would be packed. You look like you needed that hot drink ❤️🐟
Thanks Chris Haha yeh, the drink warmed me a bit. The winter fishing really is great up here, it can get busy at times but I fish through the week so it’s much quieter 👌
Never seen that before, a cod caught and not actually hooked. I've had small whiting hooked that a cod has taken, but the hook has penetrated the cod as well, nice video Danielle 🎣
I love your videos just came across them by chance I mainly watch the southern boat videos but have found yours very enjoyable a genuine lady enjoying her fishing keep up the good work hinny
Another great video Danielle. Showing you catching a fish inside a fish was quite remarkable. Stay safe and warm and will wait with baited breath for your next adventure 😊❤❤
Awesome again Danielle 😊 cod & chips again 😊 so jealous, water here still a bit yuck 😢, what's with all the guys fishing 4 squid?. Happy catching from Australia Nick 🇦🇺 😊
Hi Nick Haha yeh I’ve seen a few people have been trying for squid, I think it’s more down south in the slightly warmer water - maybe I should give it a try when it warms up next year. Hope the waters clear up for you soon and you get into some good fish 🤞
Another good video and another good fish 🐟, your winter season has started really well, keep catching those cod, and I'm sure you'll break your pb soon, well done Danielle,
Billy Fishing is bonkers at times but a good guy and catches some nice fish and always worth a watch. Stonking Codling and a greedy one too and great catch without the hook. Great video and tight lines
Fantastic video Dannielle, you really raised the bar with this one🦾 Night fishing, rod n’ reel v hand line, caught on both, and snowing when you get home? T’was a good time to bring out that new looking ‘big coat’😏
Thank you for sharing your getting better and better at this fishing stuff .I am just starting out myself after 35 years. And I must say you do inspire this old bugger
Just an idea. But would be great if some of the TH-camrs. Made a video for disabled anglers.places that are easy to get and places where you can park your car close by etc. just an idea
Hi Ray, a couple of places which are easy access would Blyth river where you can literally fish from your car. Amble prom has parking right next to it with plenty of space all along the prom to fish from. Also St Peter’s Basin in Newcastle, you can park really close to the river, just a few yards from where you can fish near the houses. I have videos of all those marks, and I’ll try to remember to mention access and parking etc for future videos 😊👍🎣
Great vid , I could feel the cold 🥶. I am keen to fish the pier , please can you advise how far up would you recommend, and is there parking near by . I caught my first Thornback last week, I had to take 10 minutes out after the shock 😊.
Thanks Neil Great on the Thornback 🤩👍 Parking is on the right, just as you turn in off the main road. Walk to pier is no more than ten mins along well lit road. Fish anywhere along the pier, I prefer just around the bend, but fish do get caught right up to just behind the breakers.

I’ll give that a bash sometime 🤩👍🎣

Thanks Adam
Still waiting for the bigg’un but hopefully as you say, it’s just around the corner 🤞🎣🐟
Well done Danielle , great video :) many years since i fished Blyth Pier, last time i was on it i almost got frost bite :D
Thank you

Yeh I was so lucky it didn’t just fall off when I was lifting up the pier, my luck was obviously in that night 🤩
Nice video again,I couldn't believe it when you pulled that rocklin out of the cods mouth.never seen that before.lovey cod for your tea.

Eeh the cod caught on the rocking! Thanks for the tip about the loo rolls too 👍
Thanks Jo
Yeh works really well and keeps the hooks out of harms way 🤩👍🎣
I feel the cold but what a hit you can certainly teach a few fellas how to do it and every time you catch the pb goes up nice one Lass be safe
Thanks Barry
Yeh it was a cold night, the weather has warmed a bit since, I’m sure that won’t last long though 😆
Another great video Danielle. Showing you catching a fish inside a fish was quite remarkable. Stay safe and warm and will wait with baited breath for your next adventure 😊❤❤
Thanks Stephen
Yeh it was bizarre, I very much doubt that would ever happen again 😆
I was very lucky 🤩👍🎣
Good Morning Danielle , yeah smashed it again , 2 lovely cod plus i can't believe there was no hooks in the second fish , so as always take care
Thanks Steve
Yeh that was the luckiest catch of the year for sure 😆👍🎣

Keep at it, you’ll get one eventually.
Cart / Squid wraps should do it for you 👍🎣🐟

Great video, amazed the codling held on . Keep threatening to try the pier, might get out during the week, but not very big tides.

Cracking video again well done am gone start fishing this pier where nearest parking any help would be appreciated thankyou
Thanks Liam
Parking just as you turn off the main road, ten min walk along and up the pier. The pier fishes best when there’s a good sea on 👍
@fishinghinny thanks for your help
Well done good fish for yr supper k3p em coming
Thanks Colin 🤩👍🎣
Lovely chunky codling that
It was wasn’t it, i thought it was going to be heavier than that when I weighed it
Great vid , I could feel the cold 🥶. I am keen to fish the pier , please can you advise how far up would you recommend, and is there parking near by . I caught my first Thornback last week, I had to take 10 minutes out after the shock 😊.
If you type hole in the wall Blyth in to google maps, that's where the car park is, it's just short of 900M to the bend where Hinny was fishing.
@Martyn-ey9lw thank you , looking now 👍🎣
Thanks Neil
Great on the Thornback 🤩👍

Thank you, I hope to get up to Blyth, in the next couple of weeks, really looking forward to it. Take good care, tight lines 🎣
Two PBs in one session , can't be bad . Things are looking good for you . Did you take the cod home Hinny ?
Thanks Mick
Yeh I took that one for the pan
Delicious 🤩👍🎣
Catching two at a time is just greedy 😂🤣 keep it up, try and catch 3 on one hook on the next video 😁
Haha yeh, I can’t see that happening again any time soon Stephen 😆👍🎣
Very lucky
Haha your not wrong Darren 🤩👍🎣
nice fish your putting me to shame lol
Haha thanks Derek
I’ve done ok last few sessions, I must be due a blank session soon though 😆
I thought that Cod was bigger than 2.5 pounds
Haha I know, it was a proper chunk, I was convinced that it beat my previous of 2.86lb but it wasn’t to be 🤷🏻♀️😆
