Wrasse fishing is fantastic fun especially on the float...very enjoyable and what a summers days fishing is all about...well done enjoyed the vid..tightlines !
Great watching the float fishing, love it myself I do it with a 10 foot specimen rod 20 pound mono on the reel rubber ledger stop to move up and down for depth then a bead float bead leader stop again which is about a foot above the ball weight (use the ledger stop to stop lost the float if I get a break off ) then a bead swivel then dropper about a foot long and hook and rag worm as bait ,it’s just great seeing the float go down in a dive brilliant! but it’s great to see others doing the same well done 👌.
Lovely video Danielle, the wrasse that you were catching were ballan wrasse. They are the most common wrasse around our shores. No two are alike, some of them are really beautiful but some are really drab and you are right, they can scrap a bit especially if they are a bit bigger. Keep the content coming ❤️🐟
Awesome session! I personally love to target Ballans on the light gear too, the fight they put up it’s incredible! Great watch, looking forward to the next one 🤘🏻🎣
Lovely fishing great place well done 👍 just a little tip about returning the pollock you can actually speare them head first from a decent hight and they go away fine saves going right down to the water ,, cheers 👍🏴
The two most common species of Wrass found in Northern waters are Ballan and Corkwing, you can tell a Corkwing as it will have a Black spot on the wrist of it's tail. Ballan wrass are the larger growing to over 6lb. 👍
Been trying locally for wrasse on the lures but nothing yet but that's fishing. Nice when you catch your target species well done D 👏👏 great content as always 👍

Yeh the Wrasse are good fun on light gear, they can certainly brighten up an otherwise quiet day 👍🎣🐟
A good mix of corkwing and ballan wrasse away over there next month myself to try for them
Should be even better next month with the weather warming Richy, hope you get plenty, tight lines 👍🐟🏴
Can’t beat a bit of Wrassin’ 🐡. We get some real clunkers off the rocks and in the gullies, down this way (West Cornwall).
I’ll have to get down that way for some fishing at some point, I imagine the big ones will put up a great fight on the light gear 👍🐟🏴
@@fishinghinny that they do! I landed one close to 3lb on a 5g LRF rod the other day - it was a close run thing, even with a telescopic net.
Haha brilliant 🤩
Great video glad you got your target species
Thanks Ray
It was a great little session 👍🎣🐟
Some Bonny Ballan wrasse there 👍
Thanks Darren, yeh they are a lovely looking fish, pattern and shape 👍🎣🐟

Hi Brian
Yeh it’s really quiet east coast just now, I’ve been out a couple times since getting back with o my a tiny Coalie to show for it … I feel another west coast trip coming up 🤩👍🎣🐟
Hi hinny
Where did you stay, did you camp or motor home or stay in digs?
Hi Allan
I had my tent with me, I camped on the field which is behind the village pub 👍🎣🐟
@fishinghinny thanks could you let me know whom to phone or how to book.
Iv fished there many times but I normally head to burrowhead but that's a treck and the terrain looks better where you were.
No need to book in as they don’t charge, just have a meal and a pint at the pub as way of a thank you 👍
Where is that place thanks
Isle of Whithorn Darren 👍🎣🐟
Looks a cracking little spot on light tackle
Yeh it is, plenty of places to fish with a little scrambling involved, nothing too difficult though 👍
