- The 2024 Maserati Grecale Trofeo ($105,500 starting in the US, $133,100 starting in Canada) is a 523 horsepower SUV with a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine - the same engine found in the MC20. It aims to stand out with vibrant paint, a ferocious exhaust and a Maserati styling touch. But does the Grecale live up to what one might expect of a Trofeo Maserati? And how does it compare to its rather stiff competition? Thomas and James are excited to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode. SUBSCRIBE!

Ah yes, two tonnes of pure depreciation
The upper half of the car looks like depreciation and the bottom half looks like depression
don't know about your country but they certainly aren't that much worse compared to the other luxury stuff
But always this one guy trying to be ridiculous whereas 100 peasants find it amusing

You wanna compare it to a sports car or what
These are gonna be spicy in a couple years at $67k 20k miles with a great certified warranty…
I dont think you will have to wait that long
more like 30k with major issues. but yeah.. definitely a second hand buy only..... if that.
Does the certified warranty include a dedicated spot in the service department parking lot? It might be there frequently...
There's a few for sale for around 80k-90k with under 7k miles already.
This is so far the best looking Ford Puma I ever seen
don't worry bro, the continent where they sell more of these grecale don't have a clue what a puma is, since those shltty cars are strictly europe only.

@@deangreen3370 fun fact: A Ford Puma will actually eat this monstrosity for breakfast on a windy country road.
every one of you are blind.
That front end is 100% Ford Puma with a trident slapped on. Colour is cool though.
This Giovanni Crotch Rot looks great
Let’s be honest: this front end was always going to look like this. The design elements scream Maserati. It just so happens that Ford beat them to it
Or the first Cayenne.
@@sirskorgedefinitely not the first gen Cayenne. 😅
Maserati 4200
Really speaks to how far we’ve come when you hear an SUV does 0-60 in 3.8s and think…”meh”
In USA and Canada maybe, in Europe 93% of cars still do 8-9s and people say it's ok...
Thomas: "i didn't know this existed until today."
Everyone else: "same."
I knew, and I don't test cars. Just shows these 2 arshats don't have a f-ig clue wtf they doing . They're just joy riding,
Put it in spork mode
sounds like a you problem. get out from under your rock
As a technician for a Maserati dealership in Austin Texas, I know there are active recalls for the touch screens being not sensitive enough
They are called TSBs.
Touchscreen on mine is excellent
why they don't use carbon ceramic brakes for these whereas the stelvio QV can use them?
@@mortensenvick5711probably thought nobody is gonna track the car..
@@mortensenvick5711 A waste of money.
Surprised the Stelvio quadrifoglio was never mentioned in the review, probably the most direct rival. Sportier but less luxurious.
Maserati should have asked them not to name the car from which this Grecale came. The engine and chassis are the same.
Also built in the same factory....
Or the fpace
@@gds1847 yes it seemed almost forced… how do you not mention the other italian suv built on the same platform
shhhh don't mention that, I'm looking for an used one and I don't wanna get too much competitors lol....let's people forgetting about those
$19'000 for paint is the best laugh I have had today.😂😂😂
That's pretty common among luxury cars. Think of Aston, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls, Maybach.
But who are you to know that😅

Second best laugh is you grouping maserati in the same league as rolls royce .😊
You may as well splash out for the expensive paint, if you're buying one of those new... The only thing that'd depreciate faster is a bookshelf falling down a staircase.
For a custom color yeah. Paint to sample color or something like that. But that is a factory color, metallic yellow is unusual I'll grant that, and an overpriced one too. And it has been a long time since Maserati rolled in the league you mentioned, like 75 years or more.@@v12-s65

Increíble lol, I replayed it twice!😂
That little scream when he said oh hey water really got me… 😂
I actually test drove one of these last year, and even I forgot these existed.
It's like we collectively choose to forget Maserati exists. They, the company, could be a bought Chinese marque for all I know. _I just don't know anything about them anymore._

Thomas has more reactions
James is more articulate
This formula of James living with the car and bringing Thomas up to speed on the drive is fantastic.
Another great video!
I would definitely buy one. I could see spending $50,000 on it. I haven't gotten to the price yet, but 50k and I am in.
This Trofeo trim starts at over double that USD and nearly 3 times that CAD.
I was thinking the same... this is a pretty ok 48-60k suv....
In about 3 years it’ll be there
1:29 magnificent vocals Thomas. The enthusiasm outstanding. Really adds to the video. 2:07 the evil laugh tremendously good 5:08 James high note. Harrison you heard all this right lol 😂
It's interesting how people just jump on the trend of hating on Maserati like sheeps, with arguments that can be applied to many other brands and models. This SUV is arguably more exciting and fun than anything else offered in the segment.
Fr I feel like they hating on me 2
That's a pretty nice Ford Puma
Got one as a "family car" (after wife nagging about me owning only non-practical cars). I quite like the engine, dislike the touch only controls, and absolutely LOVE the sound system (Sonos Faber High Premium). Best sound system I ever had on a vehicle, far superior to the Bang & Olufsen on my DB11.
Bought two maseratis for the firm's ceo and coo, one Levante Modena and a Grecale Trofeo.
So far I was surprised with the built quality of the cars, it's surprisingly well made inside.
Exhaust notes are superb and they handle amazingly, looks are great too!
Now 25'000km on them and everything working for now.
Had range/land rovers before, most of them did fine too.
Any shot I could get like $30,000? I need another daily (superbike)

Sonus Faber (pronounced "Fah-ber") is an outstanding Italian brand of high-end home theater speakers. You should check them out - really amazing. I own some. Would own more if I could afford them. It's a partnership similar to Jeep's partnership with McIntosh or BMW's partnership with Bowers&Wilkins.
This isn't even the first video James has butchered their name lol
James use to take pride in his foreign pronunciations and now he just blabbers some accented gibberish. I blame his time hanging out with those rug rats of his. They'll have you saying Zizzerzazzerzuzz and HIPY PAPY BTHUTHDTH THUTHDA BTHUTHDY in your sleep.
Fyi Mcintosh owns Sonus Faber too

@@mortensenvick5711 I haven't heard the SF car audio systems so I cannot comment, but from a home theater perspective, SF is hard to beat. B&W doesn't come close.
My two favourite guys on TH-cam. Always going to be good.
If that had a Ford or Hyundai badge on it, I wouldn't have guessed otherwise. It's an SUV blob w the only style being the paint. The Alfa Stelvio looks better, has a way cooler badge, is less money and has about the same powah. Hey - how about a comparison? ;)
Everything you said including the need for a comparison
Isn't it basically a slightly fancier Stelvio Quadrifoglio? Which, lets be honest, is the best crossover ever made?
Yes the chassis and drivetrain are very similar
Giallo crotch rot paint, $19k. The look you get in a yellow Maserati SUV, priceless 💛
Unleashing power, style, and sophistication
So much fun to watch!
Really didn’t want to watch this but I love you guys and here I am.
Stelvio quadrifoglio owner here, that engine bay looks suspicously familiar to me, can you guys do a side by side comparison of the engine bay?
It's basically the same car but with different interior trim
@@rar23424 alfa v6 is also different from nettuno
The Nettuno is more of an exact clone of the F154 V8 in the California T minus 2 cylinders lobbed off, with unique to Maserati cylinder heads that feature ignition 'pre-chambers.' The 690T from the Quadrifolgios is slightly further revised from the F154, different bore/stroke, etc. The Nettuno and F154 share identical bore & stroke, internal hardware (bolts), coolant passages, etc. The Nettuno then uses dressings (alternator, a/c compressor, etc) from the 690T.
@@95mushroom From what I can tell the f154 seems to have a different bore x stroke to both the 690T and the Nettuno, maybe the Nettuno is just a bored out 690T? It does look like they have the same stroke length but a different bore diameter making the Nettuno 3.0 instead of 2.9.
@@95mushroom Actually I just found out the shares the same bore and stroke with the f154 found in the sf90, and it seems to share the same firering order with the quadrifoglio, so it's definitely copying something.
They make such a cute couple! Love them!
10:32 - Thomas's excitement for the W201, followed by the "eh" when James points out the 911 S/T
The Trofeo is absolutely amazing!!!
Finally Masi review
Maserati is getting ever closer to making cars that make sense - the car's dynamics seem to be where they now need to be. Next phase is giving the interior a sense of occasion, like a Jaguar/Maserati of a decade ago - lots of wood and chrome and style. I believe there is a real market for a "handbag on wheels" kind of car - something about style and fashion where the emotional, Italian-ness makes sense, and for people who don't want a hardcore M or AMG. But still has to be fast and dynamic because Maserati. They've almost found it. The styling needs to be a little more expressive on the outside and much more expressive on the inside.
Great sounding lease machine
Stunning car!
That was the perfect Extra TH cutaway!! 😂
I own one and its a beast
2:48 "OMG that gave me a fright" 🤣 So British it's hilarious
Wet follow through should have been the name of the colour 😁. Well done
Oh look! New Stelvio quad!
I think I'm starting to like this channel more than the main channel.
Masefarti Fecale Turdéo
🤣
Underrated
Lol thanks for the chuckle mate
The turbo lag to audible and visible explosion of boost is pretty incredible
Controversial opinion re: column vs wheel-mounted shifters:
In very-high-performance, track-oriented vehicles, they *_should_* be column-mounted, because if you've turned the wheel far enough that you can't reach them, you shouldn't be shifting.
I call this class of car a FASHION WAGON
I'd like to love it as its an Italian beast, but somehow it doesnt give me the "umph" effekt. Maybe the lights? The front is a bit dull to me.
Also, I absolutely dislike the double touch-controlled center consol design. Bring back those fine knobs and buttons, that is luxury.
You summed it up great! 👍
I dont want a car with many shitty displays. Luxury for me is not having to look at screens all the time.
They heard the exhaust fart in California and you have a state ref appointment.😂
I was just watching the best intro video and this popped up! I am a happy camper
I so want to want a Maserati.
This one, is actually almost reasonable, if you forget about depreciation and how it'll fall apart in a few short years. Leasing the way to go
The Savage Geese Video was hilarious 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The scream at 5:09 😂
Wtf! I didn’t know there was an extra throttle house channel 😮
“You can hear the follow through” 🎉
I purchased one for my wife. She loves it.
And her boyfriend loves it even more!
Here’s a suggestion: shoot the reviews of cars like this Maserati here, in the city, or on the highways, where almost all the owners will drive them. You don’t have to do all the reviews on back roads. Keep up the good work!
James’s yelp when he hit the water 😂😂😂 love these guys
More fun than the X3! Sounds better too
I always thought it's a version on Stelvio Quadrofoglio
As an Italian, the look of this car is simply put a huge shame! Especially considering how prettier it just is any (almost) other competitor
Yep. This thing is an insult to Italian design. I don’t care how fast it is, it looks like junk.

I would have gone with, "BlingWagon," but to each his own.

That's not a coincidence. ....the Grecale is based on a slightly stretched version of the same Giorgio platform as the Stelvio and is built in the same factory.

I want that engine in my corolla
Ok but my 2016 Levante S sounded the same ? Is this the same engine ?
So it was good, yeah? I like it
Just say it, it's the updated Alfa Stelio QV. Got the same steering wheel, paddles, and even the same plastic engine cover and air intake. They removed the Steve QV in the US after 2024 so they can sell the same car for $40k more.
Different engine and then some...
Imitation is the best form of flattery - the people at Ford who designed the Puma.
