He’s basically saying coaches treat him like the best scorer ever compared to how they treat everybody else which is true…he doesn’t need to use offball screens and needs plays ran for him he can just get it and score 8/10 times from the deep three, the midrange and getting to the basket and coaches don’t want him getting hot so they make that adjustment as fast as possible to avoid not having any gameplay when he gets hot

Ok, so Kevin Durant said, he can't score 60-70 pts in a game because other coaches want to stop he from the first quarter when he scores his first points. He said that when other players score 60 and above points, it's because the opposing coaches stick to their original plan and don't make adjustments on the players scoring 60+. For example, Jalen Rose said his coach refused to double team Kobe when he scored 81. Jalen said, that's an adjustment he was telling his coach to make.
This is the equivalent to when LeBron said back in 2014 that he wished he could take 25+ shots a game like KD 🤣

Mitchell has averaged 20.5 the last 3 years, and same has averaged 20.2 the last 4.
Kevin Durant is 8th in true shooting %, behind 6 centers/non-shooting PFs, and behind Austin reeves. He’s ahead of every person who shoots 3s at a somewhat consistent level at all, and he’s definitely ahead of everyone who makes their own shots consistently

To be a great scorer, at least when it comes to the mental aspect of the game, you don’t have to be a Kobe/Jordan. With what KDs is alluding to in this convo, and how coaches scheme against him, this only adds to his greatness. He’s virtually one of the most prolific scorers to have played this game, and has done it with a high rate of efficiency. That’s what makes him scary as a player. There aren’t many players who can guard him, tbh, and he moves so well off the ball/without the ball. If you actually watch him play, he’s not a selfish player, and when healthy, has made every team he was with, better. You hardly see him take horrible/inefficient shots, and regardless who the coach has been, has always found ways, within in the constraints of the given coaches system, to get to his spots without it negatively affecting the team. Every player has their own talents and abilities that make them unique, so as a fan, I think it’s disingenuous to say that “he’s not Jordan…He’s not Kobe…He’s not, “insert any great scorer who’s played this game…”

I think it’s more so KD is very precise with his shots, he’s not like Kobe & Harden who are these volume scorers who don’t give a damn where their shooting it from or how many guys are guarding them they just chuck up shots. Kd gets to his spots efficiently. If kd had the same mindset as Kobe in terms of scoring then you would see kd dropping 60 damn near every other night💀

KD mentality wise is why he never got 60. He is unstoppable 1 on 1 but sometimes when he gets doubled and tripled he isn't the best passer so he passes out instead of to an open teammate. Once he does that, he rarely moves off ball to get open again. It's like he only tries for 1 play and if the play don't work he gives up on the possession. Guys like MJ and Kobe would demand the ball again and go at it again trying to get through the double or making a good pass. Half the time KD wants to be the best in the world the other half he wants to be a role player. Larry Bird is different asf tho
