The AMPED 2 changed my expectations for these full on amp-in-a-box pedals....but what did you think?! If you want to purchase the AMPED 2, Get it at my affiliate link here: www.zzounds.com/a--3980954
Just learned about these earlier today and from what i've gathered, it has all of the features as my Silverline Deluxe II, with a few new minor additions. I bought one and the vert cab with 2 celestion's & love it. The noise gate works great too
Love your videos and this looks like something that is going to make my life a ton easier gigging and for playing at home. I did a bunch of research on this and there is a presence control. You hold shift and adjust the treble and it is the presence control. You can also switch between voicings using a midi controller. Still a down side for an all in one solution but you can program a midi footswitch to control it all. Awesome vid and I think I'll be picking one of these bad boys up. Keep rocking
For those interested TC Electronic has released a pedal that combines, I believe, the majority of their pedals into one with multiple footswitches. I recently ordered it and it's amazing for having many pedals in a practical format.
I’ve been gigging the Bluguitar Amp1 which is similar and sounds fantastic. Just have to add your own effects. Soon the AmpX will come out and will have everything this has and more in one unit.
I find it kinda sad that none of these guys on these guitar channels know how to play anything on a clean channel. Not a single melodic bone in their fingers. If I were a company I would say, you arent demonstrating the unit properly and not send it.
I’m using a Friedman IRX into a powerstage 170, I’m much happier than my 6505 head, mostly because i don’t have to carry my head anymore. Played a gig saturday night and the mix in my ears sounded so good
Cool vid. I played one of these today and really liked it. East to use, versatile and I could think of a bunch of ways to use it. Great piece of gear IMO
This is really similar to the Quilter amps. The last batch of Quilter Super Block amps were almost exactly like this except were 25 watts. The updated versions of those Quilter amps should be out soon. Theirs had two versions of the Super Block amps. There was a US AND Uk version. I’ll be posting my review and how I use mine on my other channel soon. As far as this amp goes, yeah I’m impressed!
@@darthgibsonlp6631 For those interested TC Electronic has released a pedal that combines, I believe, the majority of their pedals into one with multiple footswitches. I recently ordered it and it's amazing for having many pedals in a practical format.
I think it does have presence. It is a shift function as I recall hearing in a video. Noise gate would have been a great touch, and I think not using all those footswitches to have a preset mode is a massive miss.
Kids these days just starting out playing guitar have no idea how good they have it. There is some amazing gear available at afforedable prices when considering everything the gear can do.
Hot take - that reverb switch should have been a master volume 2 control with a knob above it for solo boost. Seems like that would have been significantly more useful than switchable reverb :\
Great demo! Man, this looks really cool... Kinda tempted... Next year / next promotion, maybe? Lol. Great job with this one, even when breaking your "no cleans" policy!
I was wondering, have you tried the Bluguitar Amp1 Iriduim edition? I searched your videos and haven't found anything about it. That's the metal version of Bluguitar's Amp1, I think it's a very impressive unit and for someone who don't need onboard effects that defnitely could be a one stop shop (it has a noise gate built-in ahah), it was scary good compared to legit tube amps on Bluguitar"s youtube channel. They are german and Thomas Blug worked for Hughes'n Kettner for years, so he knows his stuff and it shows! I see Zzounds have them in stock, maybe that could be interesting! I would love to hear what you can get out of that thing! Cheers!
Double that thought it’s at or around the Blu price wise the Blu don’t have the effects but sounds pretty incredible and like the other guy said if you want to see what the Blu amp pedals can do you got to check out Euge Valovirita he uses the Blu as his fly rig and the dude has a killer you tube channel for metal guitar stuff.
Hi Kyle, good vid ! About the presence if you've read the Book it is noticed that you Can adjust it by engaging the shift button and turn the high at the same time 😁 I think it sounds good and i'm really interested with it !
ksr ceres or this? both sound great i cannot choose one over the other but i would love to hear your opinion, i already own the 5150 iconic amp head but i would love to have something like this so i dont have to carry around my amp head everywhere i play its frustrating tbh
Looks very promising but I agree about it needing maybe depth/presence and a noise gate. I like to build from an edge of breakup cleanish sound to high gain, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to run another drive pedal in front to help with that and stick a gate in there as well? Love the fact it has a boost and fx for leads and clean tones, not to mention a cab sim out for front of house. Do you know if it’s possible to load your own ir for the cab sim?
I checked it out and you can adjust the presence, and I think the resonance, using the tap button as a kind of shift button and then one of the tone controls doubles as an adjustment for that. It works like the Blackstar Silverline I have. not sure about the IR loader, that would be cool tho!
I have the Amped 1 which doesn't have the high gain setting so I run a BE OD Iin front of it and boost that with a Devil's triad and it just sounds amazing. The built in speaker emulation is okay but really needs some eqing in the software to sound good and honestly after getting a CabM for my real amps I just use that. I'd definitely consider picking this up as a backup rig or for a fly date though.
can you please tell me where you got that pedal stand? i need that like yesterday. awesome video too i like that these all in one pedal platforms are getting more popular.
Does anyone know if I could use this as an amp+cab and just plug this straight into my usb interface and dial in some good tones?I dont need to use an actual cabinet right? Ive been thinking about getting an Iridium but then I saw this one and im really torn about wich one to get? Im a intermediate-ish guitarist thats just looking to having a simple and decent enough headphone/recording setup at home, and I love that this one seems very hands-on with actual psyichal knobs and stuff!
Was going to get a PRS MT15, but now seeing this I'm wondering if this is the way to go instead. This would be for home use only as I don't record or play live, just for my own pleasure. Just really want a great metal tone for playing along to my favourite 80/90/00's thrash tunes. What should I choose, or is there another option around the same price?Any advice would be great.
Same situation for me too man. The game changer, for me, was the TwoNotes Torpedo CaptorX. Attenuator, load box, and cab sim all in one. Software has built in EQ, gate, reverb, and other tone shaping features. Headphone out sounds incredible, and does well with high impedence cans. I use a pair of Sennheiser HD650s, but your taste may vary. The only problem is, finding the "right" amp. I've had a Mesa Mark V:25, Marshall DSL20H, SLO30, and a Mark V:90. All had things I didn't like, or couldn't tame well.
@@jamescarter3708 Thanks for the feed back. I've not even heard of the TwoNotes Torpedo CaptorX. So, did you find the right amp to attenuate with it? Can you run a powered studio monitor from the speaker out? Or do you still use a guitar cabinet? I didn't get the PRS MT15 in the end. I bought a couple of used heads instead. A H&K Grandmaster 36, and a Peavy 6505HM.But these take a lot of tweaking to sound good, and I had to add a boost to the input, and an Eq to the loop. Still not 100% happy with the tone.
@@jasonellis7895 I haven't found the right amp for me yet. I keep leaning towards the ol' reliable, a 5150III EL34 50 watt, but I haven't purchased one yet. Or maybe I'll go back to a Mesa Mark V:25. I didn't need the power or flurry of tonal options that the big 90 watt head has. Or a mini recto. Who knows. I use the TwoNotes with just the headphone out, but you can run monitors with it, or attenuate the signal to run through a cab. I live with family and there's little ones at home, so I can't enjoy playing through a cab, headphones only right now. I do like the Mark series from Mesa though, as the voicings are good, and with the sliders, it's easy to shape a good thrash tone. Another benefit is that, if you want to, you can run straight into the front of a Mark V (or Mark VII now). No absolute need for a boost. A noise gate in front is all you need for rhythm.
Hey kyle! please can you make a comparison with the bluguitar AMP 1 iridium ? I will really be interested by these 2 products and wanna know what you think ( from an hardcore pov)
