My brother called me to come over for a few, he said got someone I want you to listen to. I go as I always do when brother calls, we had a great time listening to this music 🎤 We are going to be seeing him and sure hope to meet him here in Decatur, Al April 24th 🎤👍
You'll have to check him out, he has written all sorts of things. This guy is one of the best around. If you haven't already been to one of his shows, you have to go.
I've been loving Paul Thorn's music ever since I first heard him on the Delbert McClinton Sandy Beaches Cruise some years ago. I always go to his concerts when he is in my area. His humor is great, his music & voice is fantastic & just keeps getting better with age!
I had the pleasure of seeing Paul live in Santa Cruz, CA about 20 years ago. He is one of the best live performers I have seen. I don't know why he is not more successful.
Well that´s something else. Good fun all the way. This was my first meting with Paul Thorn; (2019 22 Aug), and I´m glad I stepped in to this one! :-) Thank you from Sweden!
I wish i had known this man personally throughout the years. Could you imagine the shit he has said just trying out new ideas. I would love to hear all the ones that didnt make it.
I would love to have heard this whole concert. I would especially like to know what Joe Ely had to say about Paul and that song. He looked like he enjoyed it!!!
I used to have vhs of J Ely, J Prine, G Clark and J Haitt from country music songwriters asn show in chicago, cir 1988, sitting around, Prine "played lets talk dirty in hawaiin", Ely "Gimmie a ride to Heaven boy", Hiatt "when his penis came between us", G Clark "desperado waiting for a train", all humorous except Clark, showtime aired in a a series hosted by Herbie Hancock, J Haitt had the best story leading in and it took a while for the crowd to catch on! watch it if you ever come across it!
Anyone else get a Mitch Hedberg feel about him, or has that been said already? I've just stumbled in on him, for the first time today. Real clever stuff.
@tim allen have you heard his song where he talks about that fight?? The name of the song is "I'd Rather Be A Hammer Than A Nail". It is a dynamite song, you should check it out!
The best songs are the ones that will never get played on the radio.
Every time I hear this, I wish I add another like. Outstanding.

This is bringing hearty laughter in difficult times. Hope anybody reading this is safe and healthy. 🙂
❤️✌🏻🇬🇧
I love this man. And I love his songs. Understated and sharp as a tack.
Paul Thorn is an incredible song writer. to be able to rhyme failure with genitalia puts him right at the top.
Don't forget can't get no cigarettes too.
If more people were as bright as Paul Thorn... we have a much better planet
We need smarter people in order for that to happen.
Paul is so bright, his mom calls him "sun."
What a great songwriter. The yellow gelo part was clever.
Great singer and songwriter. If more guys like him were on the CMA show, I would probably watch it.
Me too...but don't anticipate a cosmic shift in today's country music atmosphere... damnit
the best songwriter I've ever heard this man's a genius I hope he writes more

I thought getting old would take longer. I saw this on a t-shirt the other day. It's a great day to take a pill.
Nothing like laughing before you even heard the song. Thank you
As we get older we need a half a viagra and half a pain pill. One so our back don't peter out and the other so our peter don't back out.
Just love this song. Paul thorn keep writing.
Hahahaha. Paul Thorn, cool guy. Hell of a songwriter. I’d like to see him live.

Someone told me to look up Paul Thorn. Greatest thing about the video is the man sitting to his right!
Luv this song!!!
I just discovered Paul a few months ago, really like his style. I especially like his Version of "He touched me"
Agreed!
That is truly the most amazing & heartfelt version I think I’ve ever heard of that hymn
You never heard a paw have you been living under a f****** rock
You need to go back and check out his earlier stuff. Some really good story/songs. Warning, Paul Thorn music may become habit forming.
Paul is Always a Hit at the King Biscuit Blues Fest, I believe that he writes All his Songs...

My favorite Joe Ely song is, "Ballad of El Cielo" about the fighting rooster.
