i love ray steven’s songs that have to do with the government and politics. theyre so funny. no matter what political party ur from u can still laugh at them. ditto with his songs with religious jokes too. i’m a christian (and so is ray) but i love mississippi squirrel revival and i’m not offended by it.

My dad introduced me and my siblings to Ray Stevens when we were kids. He hasn't listened to much music lately as he doesn't drive anymore, he's 83 and not doing well lately. Recently I've been helping my mom around the house and when I go sit and visit with him I pull up TH-cam on my phone and show him Ray's videos. Believe me when I say how wonderful it is to see dad smile and laugh out loud and of course, shake his head and say, "The man is a nut. Show me another one." When he saw Can he love you half as much as I can, he told me to go show it to my mom. I think it was the ef-fing like the guys (can't remember their names off hand) did on Hee Haw years ago that tickled him. Anyway, just wanted to say Ray Stevens has come full circle in my family and continues to entertain. These videos are how I keep my 5 year old grandson entertained in the car every day. Beats the heck out of coco melon hands down.

It's called Ray Stevens Music Journey and it's highly personalized....meaning that I insert my thoughts and viewpoints into the writing rather than simply copying/pasting information I've come across on the internet. If you just copy/paste text or embed a video or insert a photo and offer nothing more then a blog lacks any sort of personal stamp.
We caught Ray's show at CabaRay in Nashville last year. He is as funny on stage as in the videos. What a wonderful evening! He must be about as old as I am, and still going strong. Hope to get back again soon.
He never stops amazing me with what he comes up with. He's was as funny in his younger days as he is now. People needs to not political correct on everything and upset on any little thing and just laugh because it's funny.

I was working at a tax place and one of the tax people was telling me that someone had got a SS card for their dog and was using their dog as a tax break. So yes people will go to crazy lengths to get tax breaks
Okay this is not my favorite Ray Stevens song, that will always go to the Squirrel revival song. Still this is one of the best music video's. It really enhances the song to see the kids.

It's because you have a sense of humor, most people who aren't raging sjws have a sense of humor and understand that sometimes you have to be a little bit Politically Incorrect to get a good chuckle. Just because a joke has racial implications does not mean it's a racist joke or that the person himself is racist, sometimes he's just pointing out what certain groups of people do. I think some of the best comedy is clean comedy, comedy that pokes fun and everybody regardless of your demographic and just has fun over all. Ray is known to have himself a good time and make everyone laugh and that's why I love him, there is not a single negative bone in that man's body and if there is it's overshadowed by all the positivity he tries to give people.
