    Thank God (and you). I've been dealing with horrible water stains on my HUGE Tesla Model 3 windshield. Tried a cheap clay bar, vinegar and wet Mr. Clean Magic bs eraser and some elbow grease with no luck. After watching this I have the confidence to rid it from my life forever.....YES, YES, YES!!!!

    I have had this same exact problem, after trying many different methods and I have very hard water too, I found using tiny bit of compound on a magic eraser works fairly well you don't have to press quite as hard. You can also use a tiny bit of citrol on a magic eraser and it works quite well too.

    You can definitely use wheel acid on the glass as well. Dilute it to just as you would do on the wheels, get yourself a pair of gloves and a microfibre cloth and do as shown on the video ( 04:45 ), then rinse off. But if you want to go 100% safe, use diluted hydrochloric acid with the same technique, as HCl does not get any reaction with glass.
    1. Do a test first on a small area, and if you are satisfied, continue.
    2. You are welcome.

    This video really helped me. I had tried glass cleaner, vinegar water, claying and using a razor blade on my windows to remove some hard water spots that dripped on my car in an underground parking garage somehow (pipes?, cracks in the ceiling?! Who knows). There were still some really stubborn ones left that wouldn't respond to anything. I never imagined how hard they would be to remove and I had kinda lost hope of getting them out w/o an expensive detail. So, I tried the 0000 steel wool and some compound as you showed and it worked really well. I bought the Spectrum 420 towels and a Twistress drying towel and I'm going to continue the rejuvenation for the rest of the car now. Just wanted to say thanks for such a helpful video.

    I came to your sight because my 2020 GMC AT4 had severe hard water spots all over it windows and paint. I just waned to say thanks for you advise. However I found a product I used that works just as good and no polishing and it even worked on the paint and the plastic trim pieces. It is called Lemi Shine dish detergent booster. I used 1/3 cup to about 3 gallons of warm water. The applicator I used was the blue paper shop towels you can get at Oriley’s that I saturated in the solution bucket and I simply wetted the hard water area let it sit for a minute wipe the window/ paint. Dried the surface using microfiber towel and repeated until all spots were gone. I did not take long at all. I followed up with a traditional window cleaner and my windows look brand new. Works great on all the Tim pieces too.Hope this helps you out.

    I have a boat that had insane water spots due to an exhaust feature that gets some water on the right side and it dries over and over with horrible calcium deposits. To my surprise CLR worked. Use it every time now. No damage to paint so glass is going to be fine too. No technique really. Spray it on and wipe a bit but not much needed, hose off. Then I wax with the easy stuff. Cheap and works and boat still looks new at 10 years old.

    I was able to just use white distilled vinegar with a paper towel then used windex with ammonia and that worked great. It was just as bad as you see in the video. I had a ceramic sealant on my car and the hard water stains on the paint went away after I washed it with car wash soap. I used wheel acid on my rims to get rid of the spot as well. Car looks good as new. I highly recommend a ceramic sealant. I work at a detailing shop and was able to do it for free but it can get super expensive if you have a shop do it instead of you're self. We charge about 900 bucks for the treatment we have. It last more then 3 years from what the company was telling us. It works much better then wax for sure.

  • @franciscodelvalle1761
    @franciscodelvalle1761 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The problem with water spots is that compounding a lot of times don’t solve the problem entirely. Yes, you remove the spots but the minerals stay embedded into the paint and sometimes when new water fall on them etch the paint/glass once again.
    The reason MDR is “not” giving you the results you want is because MDR is meant to remove the minerals, not the etching. Once you remove the minerals, you have to polish the paint/glass... this is a point that Yvan explains clearly on the use of MDR.

    Hi Anthony, I'm getting the last cut compound but can't afford $300 for the LHR75E polisher. Can I use any 3" random orbital polisher, and what material should the yellow pad be made from, is it just a simple foam polishing pad? I'm new to polishers but see there's a few 3" models on amazon for $60-$70.
    Is this pretty certain to not leave micro scratches/swirls on my windshield that you can see when direct sun comes in? I'll be sure to test it on a more hidden area first.

    What about the razor blade method?

      Has that worked for you? I have trouble removing hard water spots with a razor blade but road debris get owned by the razor blade method.

    Rayon pads work well, but they take forever.

    Boyyyy these water spots better come off! I just spent $35 on a compound and another $30 on a cheap da! I tried steel wool vinegar lime and nothing seems to get these water spots off.

    Excuse my ignorance, decades since I detailed cars for a living, what- is the - COMPOUND? My glass stains are baked on, across from the beach A1A-the sun here,Flagler beach area - takes even for my born state-Florida, an Unusual tole on tires, etc. Anyone. Thank you!

    I tried the last cut on an orange pad with an Adams swirl killer and now I have swirls and distortion on my back window which shows at night when cars are behind me. The water spots are also still there. What do yo recommend I do to fix this?

      Windows must be contaminate free. Hit it with a magic eraser. Then with a clay bar. Then polish again with a DA buffer.

    the compound looks like a heavy cut. isnt that a bit too "heavy" with a yellow pad on glass? what about like a green pad with medium or fine cut polish?

    • @danlc95
      @danlc95 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've tried Adams Correction Polish on their old orange pad, and Meguiar's D300 on a Uro-Fiber.
      The D300/Uro-Fiber worked much faster and better than the Adams, which was more like a medium cut.

    We wouldn't want to remove the residue with just plain water, would we - no commercial value in that. 🤣 Anyway, good video - thanks.
