Decided to tackle this job after watching a few videos. Your video was the best to get a feel for all the drama ahead. Agree with several of the other comments, this is a ridiculous procedure to change plugs, but it only cost me less than $85 for the 100k Denso OEM plugs, 2x gaskets, anti-seize, spark plug socket and throttle body cleaner (thanks to Amazon). It took me about 2 hours including the throttle body cleaning (not rushing). Not sure what the dealer wants to do this, but can bet it's way more than $85. If you have a 10mm socket, needle nose pliers and several extensions with 2 hours to kill you can definitely knock this out and save a ton of money. Not sure how much time I would have saved with an electric tool. The bolts are pretty easy to get out manually. Note that I got the 100K plugs because I don't plan on doing this again for another 8+ years (if I still have the vehicle).
Thanks much. I wasn’t going to attempt this but after watching this a couple of times it’s done. I owe you a beer at least!
Excellent video thank you. I looked at many for this vehicle and yours was right on for specific information without talking aimlessly. Love the humor.
🎯
I would junk that car before I did all that work just to change plugs! Great engineering. I give you credit for doing this.
This looks like a $800 dealer job, hope you got half that
I work for IGA usalted peanuts in the shell.
This is absolutely fucking ridiculous that you have to do this much.
Thank you for the video though !
Look at you working with battery tools. 😂
Good work as usual❤
I have this vehicle. 120k on the clock. One problem so far with an engine cooling fan that goes on strike every 40-50k. No problems otherwise.
Did you happen to look down the intake ports to see if there was any GDI junk build-up on the intake valves?
Thank you 🙏
Watching you work on a Nissan pile makes me think about needing to work on my Nissan pile.... Valve cover gaskets... Ugh.... That's going to be a job.
Hope you're treating yourself to some good finds at Manards.
Okay bye!
Thanks, about to tackle the beast, pain in the arse, but not impossible. Think I should do the coils while Im there?
The coils you buy will probably be of lower quality. I say if it's not broke, don't fix it.
@@RustBeltAuto Great point... I went with spark plug boots instead of the coil it self. Thanks
Jeez, what a pain in the butt to change spark plugs anymore. I open the hood in my 96 accord and the plugs are right there, I CAN SEE THEM! The Gov. wants us to move to mass transit, only the wealthy will have automobiles in another twenty years. OK BYE
That looks like a job okay bye 👌🏽👍🏽
My local Nissan dealer charges $566 for doing these 6-cylinder spark plugs.
Did you have any throttle codes after cleaning it?
Nope.
My thought process is on a big job if you gotta take it off and it has a gasket just replace that gasket. Theyre usually under $30 and it saves the customer and yourself as a technician the headache of it later. Id rather have the happy customer not the ever since you customer
I can agree, because you have customers.
2:10 is that an Icon ratchet I spy!? If it's good enough for Rust Belt Auto it's good enough for anyone!
I broke it twice already.
