I bought my 2016 pathfinder, with 47k kms. Now at 170k kms. No problems yet. Met with a major accident at 90k kms. A ford taurus tbonned us. We all walked away without a scratch. The ford was totalled. Its been 8 years now. Just changed oils, brakes and tires and once the ac fan. I think it all depends on how we treat the car. I treat it with respect.
The biggest mistake I ever made was buying a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. It's nothing but issue after issue. Avoid them, or get the best bumper-bumper warranty you can manage.

Every car model on the market has lemons. When you realize you're sitting on one, you've gotta grit your teeth and take the loss and get rid of it before it becomes a sink hole. Statistically your best bet is to actually buy the same model even though the emotional response is to trash the model and warn everyone against it. Sincerely- someone who has too much experience with lemons.
Ive had my 2015 from 80 miles to now 150k. Best car ive ever owned. Change oil and cvt fluid religiously

I replaced the CVT in one of those. I had to drop the entire powertrain out the bottom. Huge project that took about 15 hours.
I am close to purchasing a used 2020 model but talk of a faulty CVT has me nervous. Any idea if Nissan improved the transmission by 2020 from the initial run in 2014?
I’ve got the fuel gauge problem on mine; just hoping the transmission doesn’t go out I try and take as much care as a newborn child for my cars 😢

FYI I have a 2015 with the 3.5l and mine was displaying symptoms of a bad Mass Airflow Sensor so I went about replacing it, then discovered the rubber boot downstream of the MAF sensor had 2 large splits in it. So the replacement MAF Sensor was tried with the old boot and, same problems. Got a replacement boot from Nissan and now all is back to normal. I kinda think maybe my old sensor was fine, it was the boot that was the original problem. haven't gotten around to trying the old MAF with the new boot yet.
I have a 2017 and it’s ok I have had the timing chain issue. Even changing the spark plugs is expensive and annoying gotta remove a lot to get to the back 3 plugs

2014 Pathfinder - I live in Florida and had A/C components replaced twice, the radiator fan twice, just had the transmission replaced at 148,000, darn CVT!. replacing the front struts this weekend. I wish I would have sold/traded it at 120,000 miles.
Does the relearn procedure need to be done at a shop or with special equipment?
I found my cars problem after many $ . I found the middle wire on the altanter was bad. It's very short wire and I extended it longer as well as the other two. But so far it's working for me.
My 2015 Nissan pathfinder problem: while driving, I foot press my gas pedal and it won’t ride fast - “it stay riding smooth low” I let it go and foot pedal press again and it goes ..🙄 before , I change my transmission To New from dealer. So it not a tran problem. What yall think it is? (Help)
Spot on! Minimal issues with mine since i get oil change at 5k miles and perform maintenance. But at 167k miles my AC went out. Shop quoted me $1,100 total to replace AC compressor & recharge afterwards, is that a fair price?
The price is what it is homeboy, if you don’t like it get a quote from multiple places to compare the best price. Theres always the do it yourself option, but good luck because you need tons of specialized tools and equipment to service an AC system so the prices are more justified
The 17s also suffer from a trans shudder which is caused by a malfunctioning valve body. Symptoms are no response when throttle is pressed and/or slow or juddering acceleration. Mine was covered under warranty at 42K miles.

Great information. I bought a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder with about 36000, 37000. I took it to the Nissan Dealer because engine light was on and my heater not blowing out hot air. It only has about 58000 and they told me that engine had to much carbon build up. Compression was 130 to 150 and should be 180. They said I had tp replace engine. I have had all oil changes done since Iv had Pathfinder. Could this be true I need a new engine?
I mean that definitely has nothing to do with your heating. Take it somewhere else for your heating issue. If you notice a lack of power when driving then you may want to take it in somewhere that is busy, to get the compression checked. Busy places don't wanna change out engines.
Nissan had to replace my CVT because of the jutter glitch. The other problem with my 2015 was the cheap visors that break and flop around
We purchased a beautiful 2018 Pathfinder SV last night and we're picking it up today and of course, it has no warranty. It has 69k miles on it and I only test drove it around the block but it seemed to drive beautifully! My question is, "What are the most common things I should be checking on at 69,000 miles? Thanks!
2018 was a good year, like 2017.
Intake air temperature senser Is it the same on the filter to measure the air?
I've gone through two brake light relays, under the hood. Car would lose power, shuddering and then work normal again. Can swap the AC relay which is the same and right beside the brake light relay to test. Used to think it was the CVT but thankfully was not. Now I keep a spare relay in the glove box ($20).
How do you "teach" the throttle after unplugging it? Does the ECU not recalibrate?

Most of Patfinders have CVT issues on lower speed but there is no need to replace it. You can take step off of pedal unless you know the way is clear to speed up.
Thanks for sharing that because I notice a lot of noice coming from the engine in low speed and when Iam driving faster I hear nothing.
The biggest problem. On all electronics controlled cars is the ground. You need to take of the ground led to the frame. Clean off all paint down to bare metal. Sand off the mechanical lug then coat the connections with No Lox. An electrical paste. That stops the oxidation process. Nisson are bad about this. There should be a cad weld cable ofc the frame that goes straight to the battery. This piss poor electrical connection. Would not pass the electrical code. So clean this. Ground connection , No Lox with electrical joint compound. Then you whole car will run on a 12 volt system. Not 10 to 8 volts and try to operate on a love voltage system. Also. Have to production line. To. No Lox the male pins with No Lox. To complete an electrical connection. This is just a spring tension not a welded or bolted. Or cure but connection. So the connection loose in ability to compress metal to metal , electrical connection. The whole electrical system would not pad the national electric code. Inspection. Nisson needs to have a better quality control. Person with information. Explaining. Your trouble. So you keep a better built vehicle. I see more Nissons in the U pull it ready for the crusher. So sad. Later.
Nissan replaced my automatic transmission and transfer case assembly on my Nissan Pathfinder R52 4WD TI. My concern is now when I drive the car after this work was completed, when I slow down and just before I stop at traffic lights there is a whining noise coming from the front of the car!!! The car never made this nice before they worked on it. I drove the car with one of the mechanics who worked on the car and he admitted there was a noise but said there was nothing he couldn't do anything about that and I should not worry at all because the car drives well and I should not worry!!!!! Hello!!!! I ain't no hilly billy nor did I drop from a tree nearby tree yesterday. I have looked at may forums and no one has any answers
I just got one and the tires grip in dry conditions, but when it's wet OMG normal cornering on streets are scary. Is there any work around with this. What tyres should I get to help?

Great video! I own a ‘16 with 22400 miles. Change the oil annually because if extreme weather conditions. My car has a heavy start with revs going to 5000 rpm- at that point there’s rattling sound. Rattle also happens with slightly spirited acceleration. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Great video. I have a 2014 Pathfinder and I'm experiencing a loud lugging sound coming from the driver side interior of the vehicle. You can't hear it from the outside. I've heard something about fuel dampers and fuel rails and injectors. Would you happen to know anything about this issue? As always, thank you for your content!

I've got a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder SL.
It's has alot of problems.
No air conditioning. Have changed lines tried to recharge 3 different times.
A parasitic draw. Haven't looked into that one to much yet.
It's throwing codes for a camshaft positioning sensor.
Also has a misfire in cylinder one
My GPS radio died. Still can see the cameras but not nothing else on the screen works. So you have a hard time changing my heat settings and all that because you can't see them. This car has a whole bunch of problems

It is April 30. My 2014 pathfinder. Has started . Occasionally will act like no power. You can push throttle all way down. Engine want rib nor car pull. When you let off throttle and go back it works ok. What could that be. Trans. Or engine ?

Wonder why this guy does not reply to simple questions. I have a 2014 Pathfinder S and probably give some kind of a suggestion. I just change all fluids as per Nissan manual recommendations and listen to your car for any unusual noises or anything out of the ordinary. Go to a trusted mechanic ( not necessarily a dealer mechanic). However in some situations you may need help with some programming issues (proprietary reasons). They are getting very greedy at the manufacturing level of all Car/Truck makers.

Hello I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL. It will crank but want start I tryed one one of them plug in diagnostic to see if a code come up. Nothing comes up like nothing is wrong with the vehicle. It do not have any check engine light coming up and it has power I put in a brand new battery. and also, I put a new throttlebody on there. I put a new fuel pump in and it still will not start and I put a new starter on there so I don’t know what’s wrong with the vehicle. It cost too much to tow it to Nissan because I stay in South Carolina and I know Nissan I’m just trying to narrow down the problem what’s wrong with it so I could get it to start back and my fuel economy is bad on that vehicle. The problem started one time stalled out on me and then it started back up and it ran for a good couple months and then out nowhere it did it again and this time it will not start but crank.

Timing chain.?never had a timing chain issue with 2013 -2020 pathfinder.2005 - 2012 yes.

Instale los ventiladores del radiador porke asían mucho ruido lo checo el mecánico y uno de ellos tenia mucho juego compre en orualy los abanicos y se instalaron el problema es que ahora prendo la camioneta con el aire apagado y prenden los ventiladores a toda su capacidad prendo el aire y se bajan los ventiladores bulbo apagar el aire y suben las revoluciones los abanicos espero su respuesta gracias

I have 2018 Pathfinder. Display panel only shows Nissan emblem. Nothing else. no map, nav or radio. Radio doesn't come on and doesn't link to my phone. Backup camera is fine.

I will never own another Nissan after owning a 2014 Pathfinder. CVT and Power Steering rack failure amongst top reasons; always something failing.
On my second Nissan Pathfinder and they just run. I do have a airbag flashing. Trying to figure that out. Looks like there was a recall for earlier models.

Don’t forget the worst problem.. the CVT, the judder that begins and worsens.. it’s a disaster. Don’t invest in a CV Transmission, I don’t care how smooth the ride promises to be.
