Just found your channel, cool build, later spitfires had a lay down radiator set up like that, 79-80, electric fans on the radiator and the cooling system cap was located on the thermostat housing on the engine.
Dude - this is amazing - did just found your channel now and you are such an inspiration. Am about to start my own garage, but is a little bit nervous of it - but you give me confidence. Thank you so much for sharing your progress and you seem to be on such a great path. Keep it up! Looking forward to your next video.
Nice. If it was me, I'd cobble together a top radiator hose from NAPA stuff as well, and probably replace the overflow hose with a black one. Too many colors under the hood, and nothing matches. But that kind of thinking is why the Miata isn't running half the time 😂
looks great. i wonder for hood clearance you can modify the cam belt cover and have ....exposed cam belt. kind of like this guy did to his spitfire th-cam.com/video/hSll8hAo3TY/w-d-xo.html

Oh really! That’s best guess I’m using a similar style to that.

Right on! I’m glad I can be helpful! Thanks for watching. Best of luck with the garage, all takes is a few basic tools and some patience!
Hope it stays cool enough in there even with the snug hood fit. Might end up having to cut vents especially with how hot the summers get here

I was also thinking the same lol. I’m not happy with the quality of the blue hose, I intended on using it for both runs but it didn’t work out.
Looking good, very good fitment, maybe get a GT6 "bulge" for the bonnet?
I’m thinking that’s a good possibility!
The gt6 bonnet bulge would not be wide enough for the cam covers, you would need a bulge more like what they did to an MGC bonnet.@@misplacedgarage
Great work 😊
Thanks!
Looking good, think I'd go for a sealed cooling system with a header tank, but each to their own.
Thanks! I had a sealed cooling system on my old jeep and I wasn’t really a fan of it so I went this route. I’ll see how it pans out.
Looking like progress! Are you thinking about using a dual electric fan setup with an ABS shroud? Saw several on Ebay under $200...
There’s a guy local to me selling some cheap electric fans so I plan on getting them and then building a sheet metal shroud for them to rest in!

Now that’s an idea! Not sure how I feel about the exposed belt. But it’s a feasible option!
