I have the same car in the same colour, I'll bet that's gonna be one heck of an upgrade when its done, Ive always wished mine had a bit more power and one more gear
for the shifter location. i don't know miata gearboxes at all. but i see it does have a shift rail. on ford T9 gearbox swaps the shifter is also where yours is with the miata gearbox. but, on the T9 trans the shift rail can be shortened and the tail shaft cut to match and then rewelded back in place. if i'm not clear here you can google up ford T9 shortened shifter mod on google to see what i mean. it's a fairly straightforward modification on the T9... which on just a glance looks like it could be done your miata trans.
i wish i had your talent.. Im about to acquire a 1976 spitfire that i owned back in 1983.. I need to do some work on it.. I dont know what im in for lol
I'd be inclined to put in larger bolts for the seat belts. The ones I've seen in most cars are bigger than that. Just measured some spares of what went in the Miata, they were 3/8" diameter.
Great progess, well done.

I’m hoping so! It feels like it’s got more power just at idle
Well done!

Nice car. You have to really love them to do that much work. Some people don't understand.
Thank you! That’s Forsure, a labor of love.
@@misplacedgarage I have a '72 with an LSJ. Most people love it, some hate it. "Should have just bought a Miata". Those people don't understand.
Right on! It definitely would’ve been easier to start with a Miata. But there’s something about the 70s styling that’s just so cool.

Those are rather large bolts probably around 3/8s. I also added a double nut and a very large washer of the bottom. Should be pretty “safe” ;)
@@misplacedgarage They didn't look that big to me on video. Carry on. 🙂
Hey buddy 😊
It won't be long before you will be driving it.
