Hello Chris!! I'm new to this, I use the MT POWER DRUMS 2, with an Alexis Nitro Mesh Kit and I use Reaper as a recording program. I have a question, if you can help me, I would really appreciate it. how to change the electronic drum parts in the MT POWER DRUMS KIT 2? for example, by a cimbal on a tom drum on alexis? thanks!!
Hey Bruno! So I haven't actually used an electric drum set with MT, but what I can say is that you can change which drums sound on any given key. You would go into MT Power Drumkit, click settings on the bottom right, and from there you can change the drums. I'm not sure if that would translate to the electric drum set but you can certainly try it out to see. I hope that helps man!

I was gonna ask how I could compose drums just as you’ve done (with a mouse) from a main track, then split it off into kit specific tracks like kick, snare, toms, etc. but it kinda seems like MT Drums has taken care of my end goal by including that mixer interface… It would still be awesome to know, if you happen to
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar so now that I’ve got the drums configured how I want them, I’m naturally having issues with my guitar playback/recording. For one, the i/o mapping within virtual amps doesn’t work how I’d figure it should. I’m pretty sure I’ve got some sort of issue there because the gain on my audio interface is very low yet the meters in Reaper are sitting between -12 and approx -3. I’ve also got a lot of hissing and digital noise when not playing.
@@TrevorLahey3i hear ya man. im not totally sure about that one. I feel like it depends on so many things so its hard to pin point exactly where the problem is. one thing i thought of was to add a noise gate for the hissing though. not sure if that would solve it but it might help. there's a built in noise gate in reaper called ReaGate you can try.
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar yeah I’ve since found that if I distance my instrument more from the interface I have less noise. The i/o mapping is still confusing but I can stumble around until it sounds right lol. As far as using a gate, I have mixed results. While using that free virtual amp with blue in the name (I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s popular) the ReaGate has to be turned so high that it actually affects the attack and sustain of my instrument to an unusable degree. Lots of strange little quarks I need to work out honestly

When I have problems like this I'll go look it up online and see how other people fixed it on forums. can be a pain in the ass but 9 times out of 10 I find the answer. Another thing I might do is download another free drum plugin just to see if that works. If it doesn't then you'll know there's def something bigger going on. Part of it is just trying different approaches since sometimes things like these can just act up seemingly out of nowhere unfortunately. But the thing to keep in mind is that it's acting up for a reason even though we don't know the answer yet, we just have to figure out what it is.

hm the only times that ever happened to me were when I either put the kick drum on mute by accident, or I tried bussing the drums and configured the kick the wrong way. If you're not sure what bussing is then it probably isn't that. If neither of those seem to be the case it might be something more specific to your DAW or computer. I feel like whenever I have something like that happen 9 times out of 10 I'll find the answer in online forums and stuff like that. Chances are there's gonna be other people who had the same problem so that can be helpful to look into.
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar Hi! Thanks for answering my question. The thing is that in your video the kick is not soundind either! If you go to 2:39, when you click the kick drum there is no sound. Been using MT Power Drums for a while, have a midi controller I just got as well. Is there a way to add more drum sounds into MT power drums besides the same 2 crashes, and what you usually hear?
hey man, how do i stop my beats or squares or whatever from being soloed, they appear yellow and anything else played at that time will just be muted unless its the top one
Hmm that's interesting. Did you accidentally press the Solo button on the left? If so it'll have the letter S in yellow, and you would just click that to unsolo it. Lemme know if that helps or if it's something different.
@@MJK hm I'm not sure I've experienced that before but that's good their working now. yeah if you're talking about the midi that you insert into the grid like I was doing, they turn different colors depending on their velocities. but the only time I've experienced stuff randomly muting by itself is when I accidentally programmed the automation to mute something. it could've possibly been that, glad it's working though!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. One question: How do I put the program in full manual mode? It seems to be stuck in a one-measure loop. For example, If I add the kick on beat one of the first measure, it puts the kick on beat one of every measure. This prevents me from being able to create a two-measure pattern. Also, I can't seem to drop in something like a cymbal hit in just one place in a song. So, if I want to put a cymbal hit on beat 4 of measure 32, it puts it on beat 4 of every measure. This must be a setting issue, but I can't figure it out.
Hey Dan I'm glad you liked it! So if you're using the grooves, I would first go into the grooves section of MT. In the middle next to where it says "grooves" it'll say how many bars you're currently using, you can actually change this so it repeats up to 8 bars. So if you set it to 8 bars for example, the cymbal won't repeat on every bar, it'll just play wherever you put it within those 8 bars. If you're doing it manually, the way I do it is I'll double click on the midi. You see the gray vertical line there? Just click and drag it for as long as you want. This way it'll only repeat the midi item wherever you stop dragging it. Hope this helps!
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar Hey Chris. Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I can't believe there isn't a way to create a pattern that changes over the course of a song. How would you add fills, cymbal hits, etc. w/o them winding up in every measure of the song? I'm not sure what you mean my "double click on the midi."
@@dand9789 np man, yeah basically every time you loop it it'll repeat everything you just did. I actually made this video on drum loops that might help. This is what I do in those situations th-cam.com/video/4P4rpSQoeuQ/w-d-xo.html
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar Hey ... so here's the workaround I figured out. - Create a new track in Reaper. - Insert new midi file into that track. - Move the midi file to the start of the track (if it didn't wind up there) - Double-click the track - This should open up the "keyboard" screen - Grab the Blue/green line with you cursor and drag it to the right for as long as you want your pattern to be (16, 32, 64, etc.) Or, if you're crazy like me and want to manually program a song from start to finish, drag it to like 150 bars or whatever. - Now you can create an original drum where you have control over what happens in every bar of the song.
@@dand9789 sweet man! that sounds similar to what I was saying about dragging the line. I don't remember seeing a keyboard when opening a midi file though so I'm wondering if what we're using looks a little different than mine. anyway I'm glad you figured it out man!!

But yet I record my guitar and no problems. Any help???
Exactly the same for me, mate. Driving me crazy. I can use the predefined loops and all that alright and record songs around them, but if I am to fool around to kick the drums in real time while I record nothing gets recorded. And it's even more annoying since first time when I tried to record like that a song it worked! Now for the life of me I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.
How can I change sound every pad in my Edrums using MTpowerdrumkit2 plugin.. for example in my case I want to change the sound of ride into china cymbals
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar its actually easy af I figured it out, once you drag the track from the samples you can drag it to MIDI and it automatically adds them

Any way, I managed to get a three track recording and I had this drum track to it with MT Power Drum Kit, Rendered it. All is good except when I open my project, the drums track won't play. The only I can do is delete it and put a new one in. What am I doing wrong?
hm so when you click the FX button to open MT there should be a screen with a button that says "Skip" and "Donate". Just click skip and now you'll be able to hear the drums. You have to click that skip button every time you open up the project in order to use it for free. hope that helps Mitch!
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar It's after I I made this project and saved it. The Drum track will not play when I reopen the project. :I recorded a drum track using MT Power Drum Kit 2, into REAPER, using their intros, grooves and fills and can play it back and sounds great. But, when I add additional tracks of vocals and live instrument, (bass), I could not hear the drum track in REAPER at all. I was using the drum track as a timing source for vocals and instrument, but, it's not working for me. Any idea as to why, the drum track will not play with sound while recording vocals and instruments? Thanks.
hey man, unfortunately it looks like MT is limited to 4/4 and 6/8. so you would have to customize it to make it 3/4 by taking off the 4th beat for example and looping it. I know other programs like EZ Drummer come with 3/4 loops though.
Hey man, when using the preset drum grooves, at the end of each bar of the groove you get a symbol crash, I know you can have it to play up to 8 bars, but then at the end of the 8 bars, there is a symbol crash which I don't want, have you found a way to edit that to remove that symbol crash.? Thanks.
Hey Richard, do you mean when you loop the drum grooves to make them repeat themselves? in those cases I'll just copy the first drum groove and paste it right next to it. then I'll go into that newly pasted drum groove and take the cymbal out. then you can just loop that one and there won't be a cymbal crash in the beginning. Hope that helps!

I was gonna ask how I could compose drums just as you’ve done (with a mouse) from a main track, then split it off into kit specific tracks like kick, snare, toms, etc. but it kinda seems like MT Drums has taken care of my end goal by including that mixer interface…
It would still be awesome to know, if you happen to

@@hitermiss986 that's weird. i'd also make sure none of the drums are muted. also wondering if when you play it you can see any volume levels rising visually but just can't hear it, or if you don't see any indication that there's any volume at all. could be a good place to start. honestly there could be a lot of reasons ranging from the plugin, the DAW itself, sound settings, etc so it's hard to tell.

Hi! I've downloanded the Power Drum Kit and it's working here, but the kick has no sound, anyone knows why?
hm the only times that ever happened to me were when I either put the kick drum on mute by accident, or I tried bussing the drums and configured the kick the wrong way.
The problem on my PC has solved itself, next day when I turned on the PC It was working just fine. I wanted to know why that happens cause it was a painful task running through tons of foruns trying to solve it...
@@guidc ah I gotcha. yeah I just listened, you can actually hear it but it's faint, so next time I'm gonna make a point to turn the volume up more on the comp. I'm glad it worked itself out on your end though. I def know how it feels to scour forums ha, can't tell you how many times I've done that. Def can be a pain in the ass, especially since sometimes you'll get random curveballs every now and then that don't seem to make sense. It's a big learning curve but well worth the effort.
Hey. I am unfortunately having problems with the power drum kit now. I have been using it alot and never really had any problem, but now whenever I create a drum bit in a certain part of my song, some of the cymbals or drums don't play back when the other drums do and it doesn't make any sense to me at all
Been using MT Power Drums for a while, have a midi controller I just got as well. Is there a way to add more drum sounds into MT power drums besides the same 2 crashes, and what you usually hear?
How do change the bpm of the track I've just made with the midi ?
hey man, how do i stop my beats or squares or whatever from being soloed, they appear yellow and anything else played at that time will just be muted unless its the top one
Hmm that's interesting. Did you accidentally press the Solo button on the left? If so it'll have the letter S in yellow, and you would just click that to unsolo it. Lemme know if that helps or if it's something different.
@@ChrisSnyderGuitar nope i didn’t click solo, but now they work as normal but are still yellow, i have a mixture of yellow ones and red ones
- Move the midi file to the start of the track (if it didn't wind up there)
- Double-click the track
- This should open up the "keyboard" screen
- Grab the Blue/green line with you cursor and drag it to the right for as long as you want your pattern to be (16, 32, 64, etc.)
Or, if you're crazy like me and want to manually program a song from start to finish, drag it to like 150 bars or whatever.
I’m brand new to this whole thing and have a question. I download the drums and can hear them great through my focusrite. I can play the drums and here them fine but when I record them and play back nothing! I can drag grooves over and play and hear them but if I record them nothing.

@@ChrisSnyderGuitar its actually easy af I figured it out, once you drag the track from the samples you can drag it to MIDI and it automatically adds them

Your video is about the most recent version of doing anything with Reaper. I'm new to all this and just can't believe there is not to much recent tutorials on this.
My two guitars tracks works fine but noting plays on the drum track I had made and the meter does not show anything on it.
