This is so cool. It reminds me of the pool a friend of mine had when we were kids (in the 70s). Her father had installed a metal stock pond/pool like this at the back of their yard. It was raised higher than the rest of the yard, and he had put cement around it, so it was like an inground pool. I really wish my husband and I were handy and could do projects like this.

Cowboy pool, they sell insulated liner you put in the galvanized tank. I had galvanized stock tank swimming pool set up for a couple of years with only small amount of rust years later bc of chlorine we use. Cheaper to buy new stock tank at tractor supply than the liner set ups. Tank was a few hundred lasted five years, then we can repurpose as raised bed planter when we buy new tank. The insulated liner setup from cowboy pools is a couple grand.

I would be concerned that the plywood wall has a weather barrier on one side, but not on the other, even though both sides are at least partially exposed to the elements, and also has no protection from above. It would be longer lasting if there were a properly flashed water-proofing layer under the pool to act as a roof to the curved wall that the stone attaches to below. I picture water sitting on that top edge of plywood and rotting it away, or getting behind the Typar and doing damage that way.

More of a soaking tub than a “swimming pool,” I really like the “bump out” idea. Keeping the tub off the ground should also reduce your corrosion issues.
Want an easy way to heat it? Mount a coil of plastic irrigation tubing to a half sheet of plywood. Cover with plexiglass. Use a tiny 1/60 hp Grundfos pump and the amount of heat you’ll gather will really extend your season.
Keep the water fresh and clear with an ozone generator. Much nicer, and easier, than chlorine.

Really nice stone. But extremely expensive. Specially if you want to cover a big area. Around $1700 per square crazy!!!!

Nothing is cheap, especially these days but everyone's taste and budget is different. Some like driving big trucks, others small cars, some want a large house, others a small, cozy one. Thanks for watching.

@@AprilWilkerson I can see how my comment came off as hating towards you. But it couldn’t be further from the truth. I was just pointing it out. Im in the trades, and I’ve recently had to install something similar myself. All faux stone is super expensive. Great work april l!!
