  • Rising home prices, addiction crisis and little hope for those lost the city of Tampa is the “Kennsington” Philadelphia of the South. Entire districts are suffering from many vagrant with sad expectations for living conditions. You end up on these streets and your expectations are misery. And in the blinding heat and humidity of the summer even breathing is hard.

The problem with Florida is rent starts at around $1,200 a month for a one bedroom in the ghetto. And a skilled tradesman with 30 years experience in his trade, and his own truck and tools, can only make about $15 to $18 an hour. The running joke here is, "Come on vacation, Stay on probation"
And trust me, you're not even in the bad part of town. Go over by the greyhound bus station after dark... Lock your doors

The ppl saying Tampa is boring.,..it cost MONEY to enjoy Tampa, ain't no free fun,too much hanging out ( unless ur homeless) ppl r touring or enjoying themselves.Nothing free around here unless ur on the system...this video is trying to find something, but even the hood is not the worst kept. Tampa has an image to up hold thru hood/homelessness,they ain't letting that stop the bag,so they keep it presentable with City Code Enforcement, now what's so bad,if it's trash obviously it's garbage day,the bins r all at curbside ,a few lazy ppl left their trash on the ground,bc they know it'll still get picked up.The streets r clean otherwise cause that's how we roll. This guy is desperately trying to find something, but even the hood is kept up. I'd say considering this is the poor side of town looking clean and ok... How do u think the rest look, where u gotta spend to hang out look He ain't showing that tho .He said worst part. One thang we all can agree on is the streets r clean for the hood,Right!!!!? Why he acting like things so scary?only a few ppl moving around, most probably at work ect.The hood ain't giving what he's looking for,so he making perfectly calm areas HOT SPOTS!!! without cause.smh

Always found the apartment complexes to be like resorts. Beautiful pools Jacuzzis, tennis areas - volleyball area- I think my one bedroom back then was $700 a month it might’ve been a little bit more - my only gripe I had about Tampa was the traffic. I lived 5 miles from the medical practice that I worked in and it took me about 35 to 45 minutes to get there and go home some evenings- it was a straight shot going north or south on Dale Mabry-

okay first off... you didnt show 1 'homeless' settlement in your entire drive.... you drove around a 2 square mile block of the "University Area" of Tampa.. Fletcher to the North and Fowler to the South, along 22nd street and Nebraska Ave. There is no garbage piled up.. county waste cans are in use everywhere... no one sleeping on the streets, and not one tent to be seen. you have No Idea what you're talking about. and u need to state that the area ur cruising around in is one of the lowest income areas in the entire county... and the city police and county sheriff presence is active and highly effective. ive lived in Tampa for over 45 yrs... 7 generations on my family... since the late 1870's when my family arrived here...Tampa is a very clean city compared to Philly and yes the roads suck but thats not a homeless issue... we dont have 'vagrant' issues like you claim over and over in the first 5 min of this video.. you also neglect to state that Tampa is a MASSIVE sprawling suburban area that stretches over 45 miles in all 4 directions. if i turn off the audio in this video all i see is a someone driving around... you literally show nothing but everyday traffic. this is a BS video... you need to do a little more research... Tampa is not a 'homeless' epidemic. try again.

It is typically 15th to 22nd between Fowler and Bearss, 22nd street no joke all the way through stacked with homeless and vagrants for decades. They panhandle all that area cause it sits on the edge of whiteyville and they're catching people commuting to and from work. Maybe you don't see as many homeless in New York because the weather is so bad and they are huddled inside? They get bussed down here so they don't freeze? But then again my rent in St Pete ( born and raised) went up by $350.in Jan 2022 so now I have moved into my RV. I'll be damned if I put half my paycheck towards rent and utilities. I go to the gym to shower and have a solar panel to charge up my phone. So technically not homeless? In the pandemic half the NortyEastern Seaboard ( I'm looking at you, New York and Illinois!!) moved down here with their big money and have left no housing for locals. Then big investors ( some overseas too, financial warfare???) started hoarding all the housing stock. Even someone with a decent job now struggles here.

In Hillsborough they are in ever little patch of green living in boxes, under tarps, amd the occasional tent. Park in downtown St. Pete was so overrun so badly they finally started chasing them out. And really it's bad in every major city in the state. It doesn't make the area bad, it just means our state and local goverments suck ass. It's a credit to the people that we have the empathy to not start some war on the homeless like some other cities have.
