How do you feel about your management of macro in your HotS play?

      One word: lacking hahahaha

What is incredibly annoying is your team committing to brawls too much and then blaming you for, say, soaking, when you're down a talent.

not stealing the enemy camp when it won't actually help is something I'll have to keep in mind. thanks :)

this has so much value yet almost no one sees it.. it's so sad seeing such a great game not being appreciated by the devs/community. thanks for the guide

Blizzard should promote you and youtuber's like you that explain how Heroes of the Storm is actually played. I don't think even blizzard expected their Moba to become such a macro focused game. I believe they wanted this to be just a pure teamfight action game. However the meta turned out to be laning and exp was just way better than hunting for kills.
Only problem is most players just don't know how exp works. Especially in the cesspool that is quick match. I wish blizzard would give people incentive to do unranked. Maybe like more exp or gold from the first 5 wins in a week or something. Draft pick really is the definitive way to play HotS.

Again, these videos NEED to be mandatory to watch before you start Storm League. This video and the Merc video could help so many Bronze-Gold players get out of their current rank. I'm currently in silver, and these videos helped me out. But I'm at the mercy of my team, you can ping all you want to all the right things to do and it's like a 50/50 shots if they listen or not.

ive been hardstuck in silver in the past and i know the feeling. If i may i would like to say a few things that might help with that as those helped me going to Plat2 on EU (its not much but at least its something):
      1) In this elo(silver-gold) ppl and brawl no matter what. sometimes despite what ur team says its more worth not going for that 1/3 obj on cursed hollow/garden and just run it down on some other lane to get ur lane pushed maybe even granting ur team a fort/lane pressure with catas/more xp. No matter what u do tho ur team needs to win the late game fight. Ppl dont know how to exploit the xp advantage nor the numbers advantage.
      2) Neglect how much free aa dmg front liners take. Its really funny to see tanks and bruisers standing in front of u while u dps them till they either run and leave backliners open to be purged or just simply die.
      3) They tend to clump together, meaning Skillshots/AoE burst dmg is most likely free to get. (a great example of that would be KTZ) Its the same reason they tend to ban KT nonstop even tho KT is played incorrectly (convenction) by low elo players. Ppl clump, KT uses bomb, ppl spread bombs, KT gets free dmg to all of the enemy team, then the enemy team dies.
4)They tend to fight no matter what. is it 4vs5?they will still go for it! and blame whoever wasnt there even if u r right for not picking that fight with them cause of lvl disadvantage or useless 1/3 obj. Stay with ur team in the late game. they need you, they dont know it, but they do need you and its not as if that matters but in order to win u need THEM to stay alive (or at least minor the casualties) which is why u need to be there with them holding hands/babysit and hope for the best.
      5) win the solo lane. do u have toplay with the odds or r u ok by just getting the xp without dying? Unless u can guarantee the kill u shouldnt flip coins. Stay safe dont give them kill xp and wave xp with structure dmg potential for free.
      6) dont miss a wave for a camp in the very early.
I could keep adding stuff depending on roles but for 1 i aint no expert and for 2 u need to understand that progressing in higher elos doesnt mean u can copy paste a strategy and expect to win. Yes the same principles apply but its a different game, u have less time to react and u always have to consider the fact that in ur process of climbing u might have created( and will create) some bad habbits. Be skeptical of ur game and take breaks otherwise ur brain will suffer a lot. I hope i helped a bit. GL and HF :D

@@AristoKan Thanks for the input! I do see where you are coming from and will incorporate it into my play. You're basically saying, I have to somewhat ignore my play style and adapt it to my team play style from game to game. Play how they are playing. Im hoping something helps and just gets me out of Silver -_-, it's literally so toxic in there.

One thing i find frustrating is the common belief that merc camps should *all* be "fire and forget"...up to and including the zerg/bosses. As you mentioned briefly, some camps are best used to force a choice on the opponents, but in several maps fighting alongside the merc/boss is too big of a force multiplier to completely ignore.
Hanamura : The Sent stun arc is a huge force multiplier--by itself it can be handled by the enemy rather easily, but with 4-5 of your team escorting it, you can very easily push core even before level 10 if you want.
Infernal Shrines : Again--force multiplier for your team. Alone, they are killed relatively easily by 1-2 enemy, but with escort, they can be used for much more value.
Zerg : Same concept--especially if you have the larger zerg, putting just 2-3 dps/siege heavy players inside the ball can make an easy zerg clear for the enemy much more difficult.
BoE : Even here I see a lot of QM teams simply let the immortal go and get killed on it's own while they go back to soaking, or grabbing other camps. Yes--you're building up a long term advantage, but making it difficult for the enemy to kill off the imm easily gets much more value.

Id say the thought process on going turret asap on Volskaya is a bit different. If you cap turret right after it spawns you will have enought time to cap it again during the objective which will effectively double the amount of xp you get and provide you with the additional turret. Also its not mandatory to rotate to support camp after and have a massive fight there, just simple double rotation mid-top and checking that camp in case your opponents want to sneak it is fine. Another strat is if you know you are playing vs decent opponents who will go to their turret at 1 min you can rotate to mid camp at min 1 (since it generally provides more value to the obj contest).

A good idea would be to pick heroes with good macro potential in the first place: Auriel, Blaze, Greymane, Jaina, Johanna, Malthael, Raynor, Rehgar, Sylvanas etc. Even if the team doesn't do macro stuff well, you'd be able to help out on your own in many cases.

I would prio Sentry camp before turret on hanamura, the faster you do it the faster it will respawn, often times hanamura comes down to how quickly that camp is finished and how effectively it is pushed

My favorite thing to do is to take out vulnerable wells. I've had teams go as a five man squad, take it out, and retreat to lanes to soak before the other team can even respond. Especially on bigger maps like Alterac Pass.

Dear God, I'm so out of my league in this game. "Get this camp at 2:45 into the game."
I'm basically a -100 IQ player compared to that: "LOL camps go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" -as I spam camps because I feel like I'm contributing to putting pressure on their team. i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/020/941/gavin.jpg
