I have been building gaming rigs since 2005. I am now 73 and learned a new trick from you. I had updated my 7900xtx and thought all was ok. Went to display as you said and there it was 60 refresh rate instead of my 175 thanks you, your a pretty smart young man.
Easily done!
Been there myself. Been building forever. Never imagined I would have to set refresh rate manually
I keep all my PC fans at 100% while at idle just to annoy you.
if you keep your pc on the floor where it goes instead of next to your face you cant hear it anyways and you dont have to do cable management or have rgb because noone can see it :P
Lol
i literally built my new pc (7800xt, 7600x, 32gb ram) yesterday, and your videos have helped me so much! from picking out the parts to building it, to getting it set up! thank you so much for the entertaining and informative videos!!
I’m so glad I got into pc gaming last year ☺️
same here, expensive hobby though :)
Any tips?? Or did you just buy a pre build

I used to always use Vsync but once Freesync/Gsync came out in monitors I simply enable it on the monitor and gpu driver. Then I cap my frames using the AMD driver to 2-4fps lower than my max refresh rate. So 240hz I cap at 236fps as frames can shoot paste the cap by 1 or 2 at times and my goal is to keep my gpu frames and monitor refresh always in sync.
Any tearing or out of sync makes it harder for me to game as I can’t see the game as clearly.
Excellent video Marcus! I'm about to buy a 4090 pc and this is invaluable. Please send us more bro 👌🏻😊
What are the rest of your specs?
Your videos are very helpful
That be quiet case is legit the one I just used to build my first pc, it came out so amazing!! Still I just stare at it
Great video!!!
I haven't done any of these for years. The only thing that I remotely do is go back to controllers after despising keyboard and mouse in the 80's and 90's then enjoying most big N and PS as well as the newer X controllers.
is it a mistake to have 3 fans in your pc for a 4070 ti super?
probably
will i get more when i actually get all the parts?
mostlikely, depends on if the pc case has a fan hub or not, it says it comes with 3 120mm argb fans and a fan hub so we will see when i get all the parts
Edit: god damn it now you making me rethink my gpu choice... the 4060 ti will be able to play the games i want to play in 1440p just fine since i dont play cybetpunk in 4k with path racing and ray tracing, i will have to check if it can do what i want or not
Can you do a Montech 95 king vs Nzxt H6 Flow vid please
I’m new to this confusing world. You have helped to guide me so far. Which I appreciate. I have a budget of £1200. I hope this will be enough. Could you send me a list of a build to fit in this budget as I don’t feel confident in selecting the correct components.
Yes I can help.
I always go for the highest GPU I can afford in my price range and also get a good reliable PSU.
i need some help with my first build, which Cpu and Gpu combo will give the most consistent 4K @ 120fps without overloading/bottle necking the components? Also i want to go Air cooled with this build with enough fans, maybe in the future il go with Liquid cooling. the reason im after 4k 120 is because i have the latest Sony Oled tv which maxes out at 4k 120, my Tv does not support 1440p and going down to 1080p is not an option for me as i want the best picture quality. im not a heavy gamer, it would be a everyday use build for internet, watching content and gaming but still want that consistency 4k 120. a part of me thinks to wait for 2024 when the new intel cpu's and motherboards are released that way i can future proof the pc for at least 14th 15th and 16th gen intel cpu's.
Is there going to be a normal atx Project Zero AM5 Board?
Can’t wait to watch this, go home and tweak my PC, then curse Centric over here for making me doubt myself! 😂
About the geforce experience, the optimization settings don't work as well as me tuning it myself and I've only been on pc for 5 months
Thanks!
Hey Mr M great work as always need to ask what would be a good upgrade from GTX 1660 i have no brand preference Rx 7700xt for 400$ or 4060ti or go last gen Rx 6650xt / RX 6750xt thanks in advance 👍👍👍
7700xt mate cheaper than Nvidia and better performance 😊😊
@@hellspawnx3526 thanks waiting for my paycheck and bonus to get it 👍👍👍
Shouldn't v-sync be off when over your monitor's max rr, because, for example, if my monitor has a max rr of 144hz & i'm getting 180fps, then having v-sync on will cap my fps to 144?
Im still running my Compaq 486. Any advice.?
Nitro N50-650 Nvidia GeForce RTX system with 13th gen i5 and gtx 4060, but cannot find xmp or resizable bar, any thoughts please?
Still on 1080p, and upscaler is hit or miss at this low resolution with FSR become too shimmering, DLSS too blurry, and Xess flicker/ghosting, probably best used at 1440p or above.
Don’t assume you can do any of the following
Swap power cables
Use food colouring for custom loop watercooling
Cheap out on power supplies
Use afterburner with no knowledge
Love the vid
What a great mention of Ray Stubbs
I have 5TB of NVMe gaming space but I also have an 8TB HDD that I backup my games to (just literally copy the directories over) so that I never have to download them again. Sure, it takes about 10 minutes to do this but that's way faster than having to download the game again. I recently had a Lexar 2TB NVMe fail and while, sure, it can (and does) happen, it wasn't a big deal to just copy the games from my WD Blue HDD to my new 2TB Team MP33 drive.
Any good left handed mouse’s ?
I would say for 1080 non triple a games u rather have a good cpu over gpu
Can you do a update $750 build all new parts performance only or a parts list if possible upgrade possibility also
Question when I watch TH-cam videos the display looks pixelated and has some screen tearing. But when I watch it using an app on my on my smart tv I’m using c2 oled it looks great.
So i have a choice between 7800x3d 4070ti super or 7700 4080 super. Which one should i get?
i just put a 7900xt in mine yesterday and you pointed out the monitor refresh rate. mine was indeed reset.
Told ya!
Can someone please help me. So I’m getting a RTX 4070 GPU and I’m getting an Intel i7 13700K ( My motherboard is only compatible with intel CPUs apparently)
Anyway I was wondering is this enough to play most games at 1080p/1440p at high settings with at least 60fps?
I should also say that I have 32gb of RAM
For people on a budget and will end up cutting big corners they should span their build over another paycheck or two. Like don’t buy a 5500 vs a 5600 just to save $40 as you will reduce that L3 from 32mb to 16mb and limit your system to gen 3 support. Which then buying a budget 7600xt/4060 are only 8x which is just fine on gen4 but gen3 + 8x gpu equals very reduced bandwidth.
Buy at least b550 , 5600 and 32gb 3200mhz c16. If you are going to skimp just wait another two weeks and ultimately save money by buying the correct budget parts the first time.
Would agree with you except 32GB is completely unnecessary on a budget. Might as well save yourself some money and just get 16, it’s more than enough.
@@EjayT06 16 is not enough in this age. discord alone can eat up to a gig or more alone and with some games chewing more than 10 its a slog might as well be comfy.
@@toku5029 16 is 100% enough for a gaming pc, especially on a budget. Sure, if you’re going DDR5, you’re only going to find 32GB kits anyway. But 16 is definitely enough and 32 is not necessary, especially if you’re going with DDR4. Save yourself the money and put it into other components.

Hi, i have a acer nitro, but i cannot find xmp in the bios?
Just finished my Ryzen 7 7700x build with fractal pop xl air. Used liquid freezer 3.. I HATE RADIATORS
Not a bad video but I was wondering at one point if it was Nvidia sponsored without being mentioned again but I'll give the benefit of the doubt this time (I questioned a past video that was admitted as sponsored but I'm certain never mentioned in past). Don't think I made any of these mistakes but as far as ultra and high go try them and mix settings many game presets are not great. Example Spiderman Remastered on my card if use ultra preset, performance great, looks great until go to lab where I get very annoying texture flicker, solution change anistrophy from 8 to 16. Some games shadows can flicker below ultra or AA can it depends on the game and what bothers a person so experiment, and a tip if you're playing Jedi Survivor and getting what you dismiss as bugs they may not be that game has physic's issues if you go above 120fps not always obvious but game needs to be locked at 120. As far as letting drivers do the settings goes, on my main pc I haven't used Nvidia for around seven years but laptop is Nvidia. Many games it seems to set to ultra anyway and I can remember trying Dragon Age Inquisition Nvidia setting I think they just made them up. AMD currently not so bad but even then I've found myself using their settings to try things and end up using the custom setting but AMD optimize the driver not the game. Which leads me to hopefully my last point, I may have missed it but don't think so, never seen any type of optimize all button on AMD as you seemed to suggest there is so bit of an accuracy issue there.
If a video is sponsored, I'll say it's sponsored!

I hope editor Karl with a K is still eating good.
don't be lazy to update your gpu drivers
😂
I need someone like Marcus or Marcus himself to buy the bits I need, (give him the money of course) come to my house and do everything I need. 😂
Yeah on my system it crashes with xmp on. Gigabyte z690 gaming x, i713700k. Corsair 32gb 6000 mhz cl30. With some manual tweaks it works but i turn it on from fully off and then it turns off and on again fast and boots fine. Gaming fine. So xmp is not stable i guess.
Have you tried updating your bios
which game was he playing at 9:00
This has put me off PC gaming! I was actually thinking of getting a PC gaming rig but now feel it's just a hassle just to play a game..
Don't use Vysnc if you have a Gsync or Freesync monitor.
I'm going to build a pc, but i can't buy all parts at once. What should i buy first?
My advice is to not do that. Its best to buy all your parts at once or at least within a few days to a week of each other. You want to test all of your components. But you can't test the CPU by itself. You need a motherboard, memory (RAM), and power supply. And if you wait too long between purchases AND if it turns out one your components is defective you may be past the return window and dealing with support/RMA can be a pain.
Doesn't dlss 3 create latency too?
Noticible
Yep, but that's from Frame Gen, not DLSS SR, which reduces it
@PcCentric why do a lot of pros turn it off in games like warzone?
Surely if there's no delay it's better to use dlss in everything?
I didn't Change my ram MHz from 2300 to 3200 and had it like this for 1year

"Buy all your parts at one time. Then in a few months when something new comes out, you can tear it all apart and add the new thing". "What do I do with the old thing I took out"? "Not my problem".

That's a great cpu upgrade if you're planning to stay on the AM4 platform til you can afford your desired parts.
@@FromThisViewPoint my board would be alright for this upgrade? thank you so much mate
@Tom-ry1ne it will support ryzen 5000 series with the updated bios. So just make sure you do that before upgrade.
im not buying a gaming pc to get 100fps in 4k
im buying it bc my laptop is getting high temps in a simulator sandbox game like scrap mechanic, that games doesnt do over 1440p and it has shaders and shadows that are ok
continues to like the video
DLSS is a con it’s a way for Nvidia to sell sub par GPU’s that can’t run your monitors resolution at decent FPS enabling Nvidia to make more money for there shareholders. DLSS and frame generation can never be as good a quality picture as native resolution and it adds delay. Apart from this a good video.

You don't need a Microsoft account to install windows 11...
True, but you do for full functionality, PLUS it's not very user friendly to install it with the command line in order to have it local only

““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him.
