it took me a while to understand what is molka is. After some time I remembered that is short version of hidden camera in Korean. I wish it was explained. I think victims and witnesses voices should've been changed and their silhouette should've been covered better. I also wished there were more details about investigation process and Korean law system.
Overall thank you for all brave ppl that stood up for victims and spoke up about this in documentary. I hope few delusional fans watch this documentary and wake up. Also thank you for covering this case.

She discussed the Korean law system and expressed her concerns, stating that the law appeared to be biased against women and foreigners. She emphasized that Korean law seemed to favour men and seemed to hold women to a much higher standard. She warned women to be cautious before marrying a Korean man and advised them to thoroughly study Korean laws before making any significant decisions.

      Don't ask laws online community.
      Ask lawyers about Korea law.
-A 20-year-old man who completed his military service in Korea returned from military service 10 days ago.
      - .2024.6. 27. (화성 동탄 화장실 사건)In Dongtan, Hwaseong, a Korean woman in her 30s reported to the police that a man touched her breasts and genitals, and the woman kicked the man's genitals and ran away.
      - Currently, there is only the woman's claim and the man's counterargument, with no substantive evidence.
      - The man was threatened by the police to stay quiet, and the man who had just been discharged from the military is scheduled to be imprisoned under the principle of presumption of guilt without any evidence. In this way, the Hwaseong Tongtan Police Station in Korea has achieved the highest rate of arrest of sex offenders. This is Korean law. Korean women in their 20s and 30s have made a lot of money through false accusations, and this is the popular culture of Koreans in their 20s and 30s. In a Korean women-only community, many know-hows are being shared on how to report men for false accusations and receive settlement money More than 80% of Korean women who go to nightclubs like burning sun do so with the intention of having a one-night stand. Just ask them directly. These so-called victims have one-night stands and receive millions of dollars. In our country, sex workers receive tens of thousands of dollars in free government support. Discrimination is due to ignorance, so educate yourself. BBC girls get 1000,000$ from bigbang.
Actor Lee Sun-kyun was falsely accused of sexual assault by self-proclaimed radical feminists from the Daum Kakao Cafe (Yeoseongsidae), which has 840,000 members. After succumbing to their threats and extortion, paying them hundreds of thousands of dollars, he tragically committed suicide. Evidence of blackmail and false accusations was presented to the police, leading to the arrest and subsequent confession of the perpetrators. They were sentenced to one year in prison. This story is currently being covered by Korean media outlets.
Many K-pop fans, predominantly women including radical feminists, also contributed to the tragic deaths of Shirley and Goo Hara with their hurtful comments. Shirley was targeted for her appeal to male audiences, leading to relentless online harassment and her untimely death. Goo Hara's suicide was likely influenced by this negativity and the Werther effect. These individuals frequently gather on Daum's official community, Yeo Seong Si Dae, which is known for its 840,000 extremist members. Within this closed community, Shirley was unjustly demonized and became the target of a relentless witch hunt.
Under the Women's Protection Act in Korea, men often bear the burden of proving their innocence in sexual assault cases, leading to convictions based solely on accusations. A notable example is the case involving Yeongsu Oh, an actor from the "Squid Game" series, where the only evidence was the accuser’s diary. This legal bias was also evident in Lee Sun-kyun’s case, where false accusations led to devastating consequences.
Statistics suggest that over 80% of Korean women go to nightclubs with the intention of having a one-night stand. However, the court often renders guilty verdicts based on the presumption of guilt in sexual assault cases while being more lenient in cases of prostitution and drug crimes. Despite Korea's minimum sentence of 10 years for rape, some argue that the penalties are still too lenient. Korea refers to rape as "robbery rape" and follows the principle of presumption of guilt.
The 840,000 members of Kakao's women-only Daum official cafe, Yeoseongsidae, who have been implicated in criminal activities for sharing videos containing personal information of minors, have surprisingly received little attention. Insights from Reddit posts have brought to light the site's reputation for unlawfully distributing facial and nude photos, as well as personal details like addresses and names. This underscores the crucial need for direct permission from the operator to join. Notably,The exposure of this information didn't stem from formal reports but rather surfaced through disclosures on Reddit, where a former USFK member revealed the situation. The Kakao official cafe gained public attention for the first time due to its association with the former President Moon Jae-in's Democratic Party, which had close ties to the police chief who overlooked the Burning Sun scandal. Consequently, Korean media outlets like '뉴데일리' refrained from reporting on it, showing deference to the party's influence. However, it wasn't until the recent revelation of the site's criminal activities by the US military personnel that it was first brought to light. If you look at the on the site and you can show what information is being shared, they secretly filmed a minor wearing a school uniform and commented on it, saying, "he has a pretty genitals," "The face and nude photos are cute who is 17 so perfect as a sexual plaything." This crime is pubilcized for the first time in medias and newspapers because United States Forces were also recently targeted.
      ## Overview of the Training Recruit Torture and Murder Incident
A significant point of focus in this incident is South Korea's policy of promoting civilian women to officers in the military through a quota system. This female officer, who had never seen sunlight and had extremely fair skin, imposed additional heavy burdens on the recruit and failed to take appropriate medical measures even as his health deteriorated severely. This incident tragically involves the death of a recruit due to torture during military training.
      ### Incident Process
      1. **Recruit A Enlistment**:
      - Recruit A enlisted in the military.
      - Recruit A had been in the military for only 9 days.
      2. **Excessive Burden and Torture**:
      - Despite already carrying a heavy military pack weighing approximately 40kg, Officer B forced Recruit A to carry an even heavier load.
      - As a result, Recruit A's health deteriorated significantly, and despite requests for help from fellow recruits, Officer B ignored them.
      3. **Tragic Outcome**:
      - Due to the excessive burden and torture, Recruit A eventually died.
      - Subsequently, Officer B attempted to cover up the incident, but it was exposed due to efforts from medical institutions and military officials.
      ### Controversial Elements
      1. **Gender Disparity in Punishment**:
      - Many people criticize the fact that Officer B, as the perpetrator, received not even an arrest or investigation but instead a month-long vacation supposedly for mental stability, solely because she is a woman. However, South Korean women in their 20s and 30s tend to distort this as a "Chosun Dynasty exile measure" and implicitly support the perpetrator due to her gender.
      - Politicians are wary of the response from young female voters and have thus faced criticism for not handling the incident appropriately. Given the significant political influence of women in South Korean society, it is important for women to bravely report such incidents to the media. However, currently, very few Korean women have come forward with this incident to the press.
Seoul National University's Happiness Research Center and Kakao Geachi jointly conducted and published the "ABOUT H: South Korea Happiness Report 2019" (21st Century Books) on the 9th. Professor Choi In-cheol and the research team from Seoul National University's Happiness Research Center also held a press conference at Gwanghwamun Vertex Korea on the same day.
The survey targeted 1.05 million people over the past year, accumulating a total of 2.27 million records due to the possibility of duplicate responses.
The research team and publishers claimed it to be the world's first and largest "national happiness research project." According to the survey findings, women in their 20s and 30s exhibited the highest levels of materialism, the lowest gratitude index (degree of felt gratitude), and the highest prevalence of neurosis (emotional anxiety). They also showed a high tendency to compare themselves with others.
Professor Choi stated, "The answer to gender differences lies in neurosis. Women in their 20s and 30s showed the highest tendency towards neurosis," adding, "Women in their 20s and 30s also had the lowest levels of gratitude. Therefore, they exhibit a heightened sense of victimization, mistrust towards others, and a significantly increased likelihood of explosive and aggressive behavior even with minor stressors.,

Therefore, they exhibit a heightened sense of victimization, mistrust towards others, and a significantly increased likelihood of explosive and aggressive behavior even with minor stressors

The perpetrator of the abuse and manslaughter was engaged in a current trend in Korea. As a result, the abuser restrained the victim, who was frothing at the mouth and unconscious, and did not receive emergency care for 15 minutes, missing the critical golden time. In Korea, it is currently popular among women in their 20s and 30s to indulge in delusions and hatred, and there are illegal forums with around a million members from this demographic (such as Yeoseongsidae, Jjukppang Cafe) spreading false propaganda. If you are not familiar with Korean, be cautious of false propaganda that lacks solid evidence. My source is scientifically proven by 'PD Notebook'.

According to the survey findings, women in their 20s and 30s exhibited the highest levels of materialism, the lowest gratitude index (degree of felt gratitude), and the highest prevalence of neurosis (emotional anxiety).
Therefore, they exhibit a heightened sense of victimization, mistrust towards others, and a significantly increased likelihood of explosive and aggressive behavior even with minor stress

I'm a high school girl in Korea.
First of all, I'm truly, sincerely grateful that bbc brought this up because If I raise questions about these kinds of issues at school, I'm branded a thumping piggy feminist, an "emotional disorder."
I shed tears of unknown reason when I saw comments from foreigners who said they would listen to this and stand in solidarity. Thank you very much.
When this incident broke out, Korea was quiet. When Room N broke out (a case in which 260,000 Korean men watched a video clip in which a caterpillar was placed on a video device sexually assaulting elementary, middle, and high school and adult women my age), Korean men exaggerated the incident, saying that the women in the video also 'enjoyed' it. The mastermind of this nightmare was sentenced to 40 years in prison, and the person who disclosed their personal information about the criminals in anger was sentenced to two years in prison.
Three years later, just yesterday, a group of male students from Seoul National University, the nation's most prestigious university, posted illegal compounds of 60 women from their alumni and enjoyed watching them in more than 200 chat rooms. Another man from a prestigious medical school killed his girlfriend, who told him to break up at the same school.
Even though women are being sexually assaulted and killed every day in this land, the media keeps silent about the demonstration of a female nursery teacher who has no motherhood, and Korean men treat me as if it is the only big deal. It is a sense of victimization. Women also enjoy watching children's play, but they cover up the case, saying, "Isn't it the female version of Room N?" I cannot comment on these issues at school. That is why I desperately need your attention and solidarity. please Don't believe what they say in K-drama. I hope women take care of yourself and stay safe.

The prostitution that was mentioned in the video was specifically addressing Seungri's case.
Where he brings a dozen of Korean Women to his "investment parties".
Those girls were aware of their "role", hence were called prostitutes.
Now, do we know for sure if they were actually there fully aware they'll be "used" for prostitution? Ofc not.
But so far, there's no evidence that they were forced to be there, blackmailed, etc.

I am a South Korean woman.
I am so grateful to the BBC for reporting in detail on incidents of gang rape, mass violence (torture, including the extraction of women's teeth), illegal filming and police cover-ups committed by Korean men in South Korea over the years.
Korean men secretly drugged women and then tortured them like Nazis.
Before the BBC report, Korean women who had been sexually assaulted were afraid to report it because Korean men threatened to distribute videos of them being gang-raped.
Despite the threats, brave victim Goo Hara tried to expose the crime, but was eventually murdered by a Korean man.
A Korean man was captured on CCTV breaking into Goo Hara's house just before her death, but the Korean men concluded her death was a suicide.
Even after the BBC report, police have not yet investigated the culprit.
Another sexual assault victim also mustered up the courage to report it to the police, but Korean men accused her of making false accusations even though they knew she had been brutally sexually assaulted.
On the other hand, the Korean man who committed the crime and the Korean male police officer who covered up the incident were either found not guilty or sentenced to only six months to 5 year in prison.
Most foreigners seem to think that Korean male idols receive low punishment because they have a lot of assets.
      That's not true
In Miryang, South Korea, dozens of Korean male high school students gang-raped a female high school student and distributed the video, but all were found not guilty.
Most of the parents of those high school students were ordinary or poor people.

Therefore, they exhibit a heightened sense of victimization, mistrust towards others, and a significantly increased likelihood of explosive and aggressive behavior even with minor stressors.,,272

Sulli was a feminist in my eyes, but tragically the world was very gross to her. I just wish she didn't make the choice to end her life.
But I think she deserves alot more credit for standing against the publics criticism of her such as not wearing bras, dating who she wants to, not being ashamed of her body or of being female.
When she posted a video on IG of how she gets ready, there was a split second moment while she was straightening her hair, she had a nip slip due to the angle and the fact that she was wearing a loose fitting dress shirt.
When people pointed this out, instead of feeling ashamed or embarrassed and deleting the video - she responded with "whats wrong? Hasn't anyone seen a woman's body before? It was just a mistake, i dont know whats so bad about it"
She was a really nice person and genuinely didn't understand why people were so mean to her . But online bullying it can seem louder than it is
** * * * EDIT: thanks for all the likes. If only she was still around to all see the support she has.
Hopefully it can serve as a reminder - for all celebrities, whether they're Korean or American artists,
Think of how much Britney Spears went through,

The court rendered guilty verdicts based on the presumption of guilt in cases of sexual assault, while acquitting and then finding guilty in cases of prostitution and drug crimes based on the presumption of innocence. However, except for the most serious charges, sentences often appeared to be lenient, resembling acquittals. In Korea, there is a minimum sentence of 10 years for rape, but some argue that this is still too lenient. Korea refers to rape as "robbery rape" and follows the principle of presumption of guilt.
The concerning events surrounding Kakao's women-only Daum official cafe, Yeoseongsidae, have shed light on a troubling trend of criminal activities and online misconduct. Despite the gravity of these issues, they have largely evaded public scrutiny until recent revelations brought them to the forefront.
The exploitation of minors through the sharing of sensitive personal information, coupled with the unlawful distribution of explicit content, underscores the urgent need for accountability and regulation within online communities. The fact that these revelations emerged not through formal reports but via disclosures on Reddit is indicative of systemic oversight and complacency.
Furthermore, the association of Yeoseongsidae with influential political figures has raised questions about the integrity of media coverage and the prioritization of certain narratives over others. The reluctance of Korean media outlets to report on these matters, influenced by political affiliations, speaks to a larger issue of institutional bias and censorship.
Of particular concern is the disparity in the treatment of perpetrators based on gender. The case of the trainee soldier, driven to his demise by malicious intent and neglect, highlights the pervasiveness of misandry and the dangers of unchecked extremism. The fact that the perpetrator, motivated by intense hatred for men, received leniency and psychological treatment underscores systemic inequities and the need for reform.
Moreover, the prevalence of false accusations and the detrimental impact on innocent individuals, exemplified by the tragic suicide of actor Lee Sun-kyun, underscores the urgent need for legal safeguards and protections against defamation and harassment.
In light of these revelations, it is imperative to challenge harmful stereotypes and promote accountability and transparency within online communities. Only through collective action and awareness can we address the root causes of discrimination and ensure a safer and more equitable society for all.
Actor Lee Sun-kyun was falsely accused of sexual assault by self-proclaimed radical feminists who were members of the Daum Kakao Cafe (Yeoseongsidae) with 840,000 members. He committed suicide after succumbing to their threats, sending them tens of thousands of dollars. Evidence of blackmail and false accusations for sexual violence was presented to the police, leading to their arrest. They confessed and were sentenced to one year in prison. Consequently, Korean media outlets like '뉴데일리' refrained from reporting on it, showing deference to the party's influence. However, it wasn't until the recent revelation of the site's criminal activities by the US military personnel that it was first brought to light. Many K-pop fans, predominantly women, including self-proclaimed radical feminists, contributed to Shirley's tragic death with their hurtful comments, disapproving of her appeal to male audiences. When rape, gang rape, forced prostitution, coercive intoxication, and the drugging of young girls is seen as ‘feminist’, is when you know a country needs some serious introspection. It is not feminist to ask for bare minimum human rights, in a first world country no less. Basic human decency aside, are the men of Korea not absolutely mortified that their mothers, aunts, cousins, sisters, daughters, and granddaughters could wake up one day having experienced what these women did at the hands of people they thought they could trust? Are the men of Korea not absolutely appalled by how women seem to have no level of protection from their law enforcement to the point where matters as severe as this are simply swept under the rug FOR YEARS with no intention of addressing anything?! Absolute shame on Korean society for allowing this to persist for so long, and for letting every single one of these men walk free today. The fact that there are men in these comments berating Korean women for being distraught about their reality, and the fact that some of these comments are the anonymous accounts of Korean women who could lose their livelihoods if found out to have been engaging in ‘feminist’ content is APPALLING. Korea cannot be serious?!

Men in general don't typically make that connection. To them, especially in korea but also worldwide unfortunately, women who go through that or women who are in places like clubs are not people, they're things. It's encouraged through their man on man relationships with locker talk and lack of education on female sexual health for men and is perpetuated through the emphasis and importance placed on men in society. Think about familiar hierarchy, historically the man was above his wife, he owned everything and could do anything. Whilst the idea is outdated, some families cling to it. So those ideas get passed down to children who are never told otherwise in other parts of society and who, once grown up a little, will then talk about it with their friends in ways that more and more snowball towards hatred or objectification towards women. It's an intrinsic part of society and the only way to make it even a little less potent is for men and boys to hold their friends accountable.

The fact that Jung's girlfriend initially tried to announce that she was being illegally filmed but later retracted her statement out of fear of legal consequences if there wasn't enough evidence makes me question the credibility of many bullying allegations and other similar cases in K-pop. It raises the possibility that victims might be afraid to come forward due to the fear of punishment for not having sufficient proof. The proof might have been there but simply not sufficient.

I always question the idols that have the success but don't have the balls to tell their own fans not to bully other people. It always seems to be these exact same idols that have done something awful to somebody behind the scenes. Probably because they condone people pushing other people around. If I see a fandom war and the idols are just not commenting and/or trying to distance themselves from it when they absolutely see it, I know then not to support those idols ever because there's likely no human person behind that heavily edited face.

As a Korean, thank you so much for making such a documentary and letting the world know. In Korea, cases were buried. It was literally covered up. Very few people received light sentences. Now that the small sentence is over, they are living in great luxury.
What is deplorable is that women's human rights are at this level in Korean society. I hope many people know the reality of Korea. I hope there are no people (especially K-pop fans) who are affected by fantasizing about Korean society.

It wasn't covered up, it was a scandal that made it to the international news. It was all people talked about everyday for 3 months. The SK President himself asked to investigate deeply and punish the responsibles. One of the problems was the reporting of the press, it was very negligent, people couldn't separate rumors and facts because of that. Also the worst problem about the sentencing was the laws. The punishment was light because the laws aren's strict enough with sexual crimes

At the time of the Burning Sun incident, I was a female high school student in Korea and am now 22 years old. Despite the fact that the Burning Sun incident became a big issue in Korea, I would like to let you know that there were Korean men who caricatured the Burning Sun victims, blamed them, and rather envied the perpetrators.
Right next to my alma mater at the time, there was a boys' high school that shared the same foundation. The boys' high school students named their year-end school festival "Burning Sun" to remind them of the incident and caused controversy by mocking girls and female teachers.
Readers, in Korea, these things are really EVERYDAY LIFE. Just looking at the comments on the BBC KOREA video, which is the Korean translation of this video, Korean men have not seen the essence of these incidents, saying, "Whatever it is, filter out women who go to clubs," and "The woman who got it is responsible for visiting such places."
Women are killed by men every three days, and Korean women are under pressure without speaking up. And maybe these structural problems will never be solved.
Nevertheless, I would like to applaud the women for being brave in giving their honest opinions under pressure. Reporter Kang, Koo Ha-ra, thank you.

Don't take those truths by distorting them into criticism of yourself. It may be a matter of honor for them, but it's a matter of survival for us.
