The Loving Approach to my Ancestors - Thomas Hübl

  • The hurry to transform my ancestral or my own trauma is often part of the trauma itself. When we are too fast it's a mechanism to feel less. So often what we need to insert when we deal with trauma is space, more space. And to learn to be with what I feel.
There are no "mistakes" in my feelings. There is nothing to get out of the way to get to health, to integration, to healing.
When the energy between us and our ancestors is integrated, the ancestors are here. They are not somewhere in the past. The distance in time and space is a function of trauma, not a function of truth. The trauma symptom creates the sense of far away. When there is trauma between generations, they can't see each other. When one generation can really see the next generation, it creates presence.

So emotionally brilliant and delivers with such humility and deep wisdom. I completed a PhD in psychology and no teacher of mine ever spoke about trauma and spirituality in such a loving and expansive way! I want to learn from him! Thanks Thomas for all you share and do!

Important statements about trauma healing and applying pressure, being in a hurry to do so. "When we are too fast it's a mechanism to feel less." Yes!

this also explains the value of a good friendship - we give each other space!

Being fully present using thé space in-between resonates a lot. The more I do the work the more I understand I need thé feeling of being cut of... As the starting Point of integration of that specific mayor of that trauma. Thank you

Tomás, please, at a bio/physilocal level, does numbness have to do with adrenaline? Because in my observation of myself I seem to be understanding that there seems to be an addiction to a certain degree of "necessary" adrenaline ... when the "pressure" is off the paradox is that anxiety level increases as I start feeling!!! So I will put myself in situations that set off an adrenaline rush ... this is what I know.and as much as it maybe not feel good its familiar, the contact with feeling is not familiar - all this its actually quite a paradox. Is this what Im understanding you mean when you say numbness is active and energy consuming??? Thank you

I found specific answers about those somatic mechanisms and stored survival stress in the work of somatic therapist and teacher Irene Lyon. She is on TH-cam as well.
