Great review! How does the CT compare to the new TATULA 100? Is build quality, features, casting ability the same? I am on the fence about the CT vs the 100. I need to replace a couple of old casting reels, so I am looking at buying 2 or 3 TATULA reels. The price diff between the CT and the 100 is about $30 per reel. Comments appreciated. Thx!

So the one aftermarket reel company that works with diawa, I think its called RCS? Anyway they make a Narrow but somewhat shallow SV spool for the 100 and CT body style. I need one lol

I just found your channel. I look forward to watching your videos. Almost a month ago I bought the Tatula CT. It's my first decent baitcaster. I did a lot of research on reels and thought it gave the best quality for the price. I will be curious to see it go up against the Shimano. I am very happy with this reel. Casts great. Nice distance. But to be honest my only other baitcasters are cheapies. But I will say, I have 2 Runcl's I got off of Amazon. And they seem to be very nice reels, especially for the money. They are plastic framed I think. But they have 10 bearings. Are very smooth. And I have had no issues with them. I will use them until I can get better reels. Which since I live on social security disability, will take a while. Thanks for the great videos. I will be going back through your archives to watch them.

I just bought the new version of the Daiwa Tatula CT and like it, except for the small handle knobs. I also have the earlier version. I have a couple of Shimano SLX XTs. I like the Daiwa Tatula CTs and Fuego CTs but give a slight edge to the Shimano SLX XTs for the smooth operation, brake adjustment and better handle knobs. All are excellent. They cast well and are reliable. I am happy to use either a Tatula CT or SLX XT anytime.

I have both and I prefer the CT, but that could be the action of the rod too. Haven’t tried switching them to see. I like only adjusting the magnetic dial and then the tension knob. Plus I feel there’s more range on the CT’s magnetic dial. 20 clicks vs what XT has.

I genuinely like Daiwa reels but I don't understand why they went all-in on the T-wing system. Of the three I own-the Fuego CT, Tatula 100, and CA80-the best distance caster is actually the one I spent the least for [the CA80]. Which, sadly, they didn't even make themselves I don't think AND have apparently discontinued (probably because they could be had for a song and outcast the 100 by a country mile). It's so frustrating. I wasn't expecting the Tatula 100 to be a Steez or anything but I really thought it was going to be a step up from Fuego and it wasn't. I don't know. Maybe I got a bad one or something. Or maybe it excels at a technique I haven't mastered yet. Regardless, I wish I had held out for the SLX XT lately.

Shimano makes better stuff on low to mid range like the SLX or Curado but I think Daiwa makes better higher end stuff from the zillion and up. I absolutely love my Steez A more than any Metanium I’ve owned. Metaniums are probably as smooth when you first buy them but they always seem to go geary. Daiwa’s aluminum gears are cut very precise and are supported well so I’ve never had a problem with them. Daiwa also wins out in the spinning department in my opinion. The drags are smoother which is the 1st thing to look for in my opinion
