  • Sooooooooo, this was new!! Some body purchased cheap dog food from the discount store and now our puppy is reverse sneezing. Our yorkie T'Challa has NEVER done this before so naturally it scared the crap out of us. Reverse Sneezing is a normal reaction that goes away on its own but the problem that started it need to be addressed also.
Reverse Sneezing occurs when your puppy gets too excited, is having an allergic reaction, or a rapid change of environmental temperature has occurred.

My morkie does this and all you need to do is place a finger across his nostrils for a few seconds which instinctively forces them to open their mouths to lick and breathe and BOOM all better works every time. No stress to the dog or you and no waiting for them to "work it out". Sometimes I have to do it twice if he starts up again but you'll realize how easy this fix is and wonder why no one told you sooner. 🙏❤️

Our 4-5 year old Yorkie, Buddy, has a surprising solution for his reverse sneezing apparently. I didn't know what reverse sneezing was up until like a few minutes ago as I'm writing this comment, but after some reading I just kind of realized that Buddy usually just, got rid of his reverse sneezed on his own really.
He started reverse sneezing about two years ago, usually out of nowhere, but whenever he gets one he just starts running around the house and that surprisingly fixes him up pretty good, we all just thought that he had extreme allergies but it seems like he just gets excited or something

The panic I would have if T'Challa starting zoomying around the houses and reverse sneezing! That would have made a great video though!

@@BAnthonyProductions it certainly is terrifying, considering we didn't even know what buddy was doing in the first place.
He's being spoiled rotten now though, he always sleeps in my bed with me lol

My yorkie does this when she’s excited, for example when someone comes back home, and it’s the sweetest thing ever
Edit: It also sounds like snorting, so that’s what I like calling it lol

I’m going through this now with my 12 week old Yorkie and it scared the crap out of me.

Oh it's terrifying at that age, but just remember to watch for things that may be triggering this reaction. For T'Challa it's seasonal changes, ie he's been doing it off and on for a week now.

My puppy does this.. I take 3 medications for allergies.. not to mention I live in a place where we don’t have grass we have dust.. and he does this once every couple of months.. especially if I haven’t dusted. Is ur pup ok? And mine does this when he is super excited also.. we woke up at 2 am with him doing this.. needless to say it’s 7am and I’ve been holding him. I always pick him up hold his head towards the ceiling and rub his throat.. my baby.. I am so worried💔🤦‍♀️🐶🥹

It may be allergies. My girl wakes me up doing this and the vet prescribed benadryl (tablets, not liquids which can have deadly ingredients)

What I've read is hold one nostril closed for a few seconds

I tried that once....T'Challa treated my finger like a Beggon strip. Then continued to try and eat my other fingers! (He just naws, not actual bites lol)

    This is trachea collapse.
The best thing to do is lift doggies chin slightly and pet them to calm down.
These breeds also shouldn't wear collars for a walk but rather a correctly fitted harness to avoid pressure on the neck.

My 1year old Morkie just started this. Giving him Tamaril. Doesn’t seem to help. Thanks for

I’m super scared of my yorkie ): he has been doing it . He does it only when he gets excited so idk but I wanna cry because it sounds like he can’t breath

    • @BAnthonyProductions
      @BAnthonyProductions  ปีที่แล้ว

He will fine, he is breathing in sorta, just very hard. Think of reverse sneezing as like …..snorting lol. it’s scary at first for sure but it won’t be every time he gets happy.

Cover one of his nostrils and it’ll go away
