- Welcome to my 1 year update with my yorkie puppy! My teacup yorkshire terrier, Charlie is growing up! He recently turned 1-year old! I've put together a 1 year compilation of his yorkie puppyhood and our first year with this puppy! When we first picked him up, he only weighed less than 2lbs! Now that he's a 1 year old yorkshire terrier, he's 4lbs!!

I miss my dog that looks just exactly like Charlie! Unfortunately, she just died on January 1, 2023...while watching this video, I can't help but cry. I can tell that it's the worse part of being a dog owner. The house is now so quiet without her and it is the most depressing thing in the world :(

I lost my 13 year old greyhound in March, I’m still having a hard time with it, I’m starting to think about getting a new puppy, the thought of doing so makes me both excited and nervous.

Love, love, love your little Charlie. You take him out a lot and that's a good thing just remember to keep him attached to a harness/leash at all times. They are so little and quick a stranger could steal him in a heartbeat. Sorry to be a downer but a woman attempted to steal my little girl one time. Got a little over possessive after that. Charlie is so cute. I love to watch him so much. You all are so happy 😊 it brings back so many happy memories of my Little Elvis. I had him for 17 1/2 yrs . Then he went to Doggie Heaven 3 1/2 yrs ago & I am still heartbroken. ❤❤❤

I had a 3.5 year old, 2.8 lb Yorkie. Unfortunately I had to put him down on December 2nd from sudden kidney failure. He was only 14 ounces at 8 weeks old. I was devasted when I couldn't save him.. I am getting another Yorkie on February 2nd. He will be 10 weeks old. I am so excited.

@@therndcouple Hi. My wife really wants a dog and was looking into smaller breeds. She really likes Yorkies but my concern is that they can be vocal. I work from home and wanted to know if they constantly bark to the point where it could be distracting. If so did you take any steps to minimize the barking and how successful was it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
@@darthstarforce1677 sure thing! Charlie isn’t very vocal so he doesn’t bark that much. In fact I had to teach him how to bark when he was a puppy so he knew how to fend for himself 😂

If a yorkie owner introduces them to a car early on, like within 3 months, and you have a comfortable, dedicated dog seat, then they won't be nervous.
The rollover command works best when you rotate the treat 180 degrees above the yorkie's head.
Our yorkie puppy turns 6 months old in a few days.

How did you soothe his nausea? I have a 10 month old Yorker-Pomeranian mix. For al intense purposes he looks and acts like a Yorker. She is 9-10 pounds Pomeranian tail, long legs but Yorker face, colors, fur and traits. I just don’t know how to handle the car sickness except with otc anti nausea pills, benzodiazepines and not feeding prio to car trips. None work well. What helps you?
I want my boy to enjoy going for rides and car trips -- what was the magic you found that soothed his nausea?
He mostly grew out of it by himself. But we also kept taking him on long road trips with us and familiarized him. And he got better
Just finding your channel. First and foremost, you are doing great with raising Charlie. My only thought would be to stop using the term “tea cup”. Many of your commenters have asked if you got the smallest of the litter or how do I find a tea cup. There is no such thing as a tea cup. This is a marketing phase used by many many non professional backyard breeders and pet shop sellers! However, There are smaller yorkies. But…When one goes for the smallest yorkie in a litter, you are getting the runt. They have the most issues! If one wants to check on how big a yorkie will get, ask a reliable breeder about the size of the breeding parents. There is a chart that will calculate the adult size of a yorkie from weight at weeks. And one needs to get the puppy at at least 10 weeks. It’s actually illegal in many states to sell a pup until 8 weeks. A young yorkie can become hypoglycemic or develop many other social and health issues by leaving the mother and litter mates too soon. Be a good informed adoptive puppy parent!

I wanted to ask some questions about the potty training: 1) did you really wake up almost every hour the first weeks just to make him go to his potty that is in the bathroom? 2) how long did it take you to potty train him? 3) do you walk him every morning and night or he just poops and pees at home?

Hi there yes! For #1, no he is such a great sleeper. Doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night at all. I made sure he was familiar with my smell so I put my pj shirt inside his unicorn bed since day 1. #2, potty training took roughly 1 month or so. He was pretty good with the peepad from the very beginning Bc our breeder had them pee on peepad. #3, we do daily walks with him. Usually in the morning and sometimes at night too depending on our schedule. He used to pee and poop all at home on the peepad. Now he’s used to pooping outside and only pee on the peepad when he can’t hold it

What food did you feed him when she was 3 month to now? And how often
I changed his food several times. First started with farmers dog food dog now he’s eating mostly Stella and chewy Pattie’s + lil plates. Hope this helps :)
My fiancée breed very small yorkies, we call them “petites”. All of our 6 yorkies are under 5lbs. Our puppies usually end up around 3 1/2 lbs full grown. We absolutely LOVE what we do and strive for excellence. We do background checks for all of our potential owners so we hopefully never have one of our babies used for anything bad or being bred,since only full grown yorkies will only be bred if they are over 3 lbs. unfortunately we had to put this into our contract since ppl buy these guys and breed them and are uneducated and they end up dying since they are too small to deliver babies. 😢 so no breeding is in our contract because of this. We actually just had a litter of party yorkies! It was the most exciting time in our lives here with the puppies.❤️❤️ in the 14 years of breeding we have never had a litter of party yorkies. These Guys are the most loving loyal breeds ever! Don’t let their size fool you,they can be fierce when they think their beloved owner is in trouble. 😮 also, I have to hold my babies when we take them in the car to prevent car sickness,don’t worry I don’t drive and hold my dog, my fiancée drives or my daughter holds them for me. It really helped, no more sickness for our babies. Also, I call all of our full grown yorkies babies, they are just so tiny!! I love your little Charlie and hope to see more soon!!

No he doesn’t anymore! He sleeps anywhere from our couch, his crate, or his unicorn bed. We stopped using a playpen when he was around 3 months!

❤I got mine 3 days ago and I have a question, you do feed him every 4 hours? My vet told me they can suffer hipoglucemia I’m so worried about that.
I made sure there was food next time him all the time and he just ate whenever he was hungry. He ended up with a picky palette anyways so he didn’t eat much haha

@@therndcouple thank you (: I really want a smaller Yorkie as my 2.5 pound girl passed away at 16 years old. I found a Yorkie local to me that is 1.0 pounds at 7 weeks old. But It’s all so confusing. According to my moms vet records her yorkie weighed 2.4 pounds at 12 weeks however she is now 10 pounds as an adult. It just doesn’t add up 😮💨

THERE IS NO SUCH BREED CALLED A TEACUP YORKIE!! It is horrible that breeders keep breeding only the tinyest to make the next ones even smaller. I am so glad that where i live, we have very strickt rules of what puppies can be bred and which is forbidden to breed on.
