My 9 year old Yorkie/Silky Terrier has been making weird noise since day one, including this inverted or "backward" sneeze. When heard, these noises sound alarming but apparently it's all quite normal.

yep. when my first yorkie first made this noise, i freaked out and rushed him to the vet. i was told it's common, not just for yorkies, but for all small dogs. i have 5 yorkies right now, and jj is the only one that makes this noise. he usually only does it in the springtime, when allergens are around.

That's strange. I've had my Yorkie for 15 years and he's never done that. Unfortunately, for the last year, he now does this Goose honking sound because he's got a partially collapsed😢 trachea 😢.

yes, not all of them do. i currently have 5 yorkies, and he's the only one that does it. of the 14 yorkies i've owned in my lifetime, only 3 did it. i'm sorry to hear about your yorkie. ❤

@@ItsOnlyBeckyYT , OMG BECKY YOU'RE THE YORKIE QUEEN!!!! How awesome your history with Yorkies is. Wow, you take the cake. Lucky Yorkies🥳! Thanks for sharing. I'm doing my best for my Gizmo. Besides the trachea problem, he has Dementia. His hips and joints in his back legs are getting week, and he's got cataracts. A friend of mine ask why I don't put him down and my jaw dropped. I honestly don't think he's at that point, am I mistaken??? I respect your opinion. I cook his food, give him supplements, and massage him every morning. I love him soooo much.

@@melindahernandez8778 oh, i'd never presume to tell someone when (or if) to put their dog down. it's a hard decision, and it's between you and your vet. as long as he's happy, i'd tell people to mind their own business. but if he's in pain and miserable and won't eat, maybe it's something to consider.

@@ItsOnlyBeckyYT , EXACTLY! @ItsOnlyBeckyYT , I was in shock when she brought up "that subject". I tend to be too polite to friends and family and forget to straighten people out when they cross boundaries. It hadn't even crossed my mind. He's not in pain, he is quite comfortable only now he requires more care. Part of being in a loving relationship, you don't quit because the relationship requires more of you.
