Well...there are many things that are considered as downfalls. For instance, repeating a scene more than a dozen of times, returning to the same scene after dozens of tries, being flexible with lines, actions, being tough skinned when the director blows their head off at you, withstanding extreme weather (Keira was relieved to be wearing pirate wear after ditching the corsets in the hot weather) what else.... hmm.. waking up extra early to do another scene after possibly working till 3 in the morning the day before. These aren't 100% guarentees, but in this case, that's what it looked like. You're a tired, sweaty, and in Depp's case, slimey human being who's out of sweat, out of blood and out of tears. Acting is a passion, and involves a lot of strength in mind and body. If one is passionate they will see these obstacles as tiny speed bumps on the road. I'm not saying i'm a professional here, by the way. I've just learned a lot about the environment as it fascinates me greatly :)
