Best villain ship in the series. Queen Anne’s revenge and the silent marry weren’t as menacing as the Dutchman which could sail underwater, and be used to summon the kraken, those triple guns 👌.
@@Hartsinck1 Agreed, but of course when the curse was broken, the Pearl became a mortal ship, but somehow retained her formal qualities and abilities… still being the fastest ship in the high seas for one… she out ran the Dutchman while it was attacking her.
Woah, woah, woah. Wait, the Flying Dutchman was a real ship? I always thought it was CGI with practical mast or the top floor of the ship with interiors. Wow. I never knew that nor the detail that was put into it. I already love AWE, but this makes me love it more.
Even better, the Flying Dutchman was based on a actual ship called VASA located at VASA Museum, it's a real ship that sunk on it's maiden voyage in 1628. Taken down a lot of soldiers and civilians with it, probably the reason they chose this ship as the carrier of death. You can Google it and see the resemblance.
That's awesome. And Davey Jone's face is still some of the best CGI to date IMO. What I never understand is all this money and work goes into making stuff like this ship, and they just demolish it after they make the movie. They should auction it off to rich people, at least give them the chance to own it... Sure beats destroying it. Hold a contest to give some of the stuff away to people who can't afford to buy it.... Let it live on.
Yeah, it would be awesome if someone just bought the Flying Dutchman and had it placed somewhere where everyone would be able to come and look at it... :) I would totally do that... :)
Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Fun fact: Not only is the most famous ghostship a dutchman but one of the most infamous haunted houses (the Amityville house) is a dutch colonial, must be one heck of a spooky nation. Another fun fact: this version of the flying dutchman is not dutch but swedish, it is almost an exakt copy of the swedish battle ship Vasa that was buildt in 1628 and sunk on her maiden voyage.(because of construction error not iceberg)
i just realized how different the Dutchman is when Will is captain. the sails cannons and the front jaw part are very different from when Davy was captain.
To think Will Turner, local Blacksmith, would ever become a pirate, to finally a pirate captain of an infamous ghost ship, rather reverted somewhat to being a regular sailing vessel… yet still retaining some of it’s notable qualities.
Anyone know what happened to the screen used ships? I wouldn’t think they’d scrap them after since this is a multi-billion dollar movie franchise, but at the same time there wouldn’t be much use for them.

It really paid off to have an actual ship. CGI seems to be at its best when it is enhancing and not replacing altogether.
Dude, this was a movie where an entire crew was replaced with CGI and it looked really convincing.

Omg that's awesome ! Thanks for pointing it out !
Love when they go practical like this.
The most noticeable thing about the Dutchman is the jaws.
The sails are more noticeable for me

You're right it was made by Dutch entrepeneurs based in Stockholm, Sweden

Thank you for this! Ive loved these movies since i was a kid
its really great to put so much effort on this movie, i mean the story is so complex
Even watching the way it was created it is still incredible.
Damn I want one

Mr Apple Man 77 yeah the dutchman became normal again when will become captin but in the new one its back to being her good old self lol

And then there's Justice League who uses a green screen for the entire movie
Justice League is also a generally shit film
@jexrutin well you got what you wanted :D
they should show more of these videos in public like discovery or nation geographic channels
The dutch man most need a captain
I really like this kind of videos 👍🏻
Ohh shit the Dutchman was really made !!! Oh My God
I wonder why they don’t have the rest of the sails. Instead they have one sail per mast
1st very dangerous like 200 feet in the sky putting the sails on
2nd to much money to buy more wood , rope and the Materials make the sails
Great Work!

They added those after in cgi bc it would be impractical and too heavy.
