Great video, I'm going on my 4th research visit to Vietnam, 1 month each time. Will be my second trip to Dalat...I stay with a girl I met in her Village ( next to K'ho Coffee in Lam Dong ..Next to Lang Biang Mountain ) Good because I see how the locals live, K'ho ethnic group, also handy because they show me even cheaper places to eat in Da Lat....Note, if you stay in a village, you have to inform the local police. Danang was going to be my final retire destination, but it is looking like I could have a good life living here like a local...who are very happy and live and eat very well. Thanks again for the video, keep them coming.
You make a great point Mark. I am showing where many people choose to retire in Vietnam. But the truth is, once you get your expat legs under you, there is no reason to limit yourself to the hot expat spots. The world is your oyster. Best, Dan
I have an autoimmune condition, so I eat a carnivore diet, mainly beef, eggs, and dairy. How expensive would such a diet be in Da Lat? $/lb for hamburger and sirloin steak, liter of milk, dozen eggs would give me a good idea. Could you eat this diet at local restaurants or have to prepare all your own food?
LOL One my old-small apartment rent is $1,900/ month in San Jose. I lived in Da Lat for 3 years, and I loved the weather there a lot. I haven't come back to visit Da Lat since 2006.
Thanks for all the work you two. Just recommenced nomad life with 6 weeks in Ha Long USD$560 per month level 28 on the bay with great views. Luxury apartment. Maybe this is life.

500 dollars for an apartment in Dalat? Locals salaries are 300 dollars a month. These prices make no sense. I am paying 600 dollars for a 2 bedroom apartment in Germany.
You can pay as little as $50 month for a "workers" apartment in Dalat. But most Expats from the west would not like living in those. So I don't bother showing them to people. Do you think I should show those just to round out the information?
$500/mo seems awfully high. Thailand I get 3 furnished 3 bed, 3 bath, western kitchen on double fenced lot in gated community just outside of Chiang Mai fo that amount.
That is for Central Dalat furnished with modern everything. If you are comfortable 4 Kms out you can cut that buy 40%. Everyone online is upset about Thailand right now. What are your thoughts?
Please avoid the irritating music add-on. No music need it. You may talk instead. Why do you force your music on everyone? This is not MTV music channel. Thanks
When in Dalat you must ride the roller coaster down to the waterfall. You and your gf ride the roller coaster and the man controls the speed haha you will have lots of fun and lots of screaming and a good souvenir photo as well
@@VagabondAwake I know it's at altitude, what I'm saying is it's one of the few places where it's literally hotter in the winter (on this side of the equator) amazing. And thanks for the video as always
@@VagabondAwake can you recommend a site for apartment rentals in Da Lat? I would be looking for a 1BR, preferably with a separate work/living space, kitchen, and close to the central market. It would be for a retired single person on a fixed income. Thanks.
I try to put myself in my pre-visit shoes and ask, "What would I want to see if I pushed played on a TH-cam video." Since most videos focus on entertainment I have decide to lean more focus on information. So I just notice what is important to me in making retirement savings decisions and share that. Best, Dan

Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you kindly!
The homestays in Dalat are epic but the hotels can be a bit of a miss. The beautiful pine forest is so beautiful and a must see. A town for romantics
We love it!
Loving your Vietnam series.

$300 to $400? Depends if you eat out more because you are single?

Hi Dan, do you bring your own kitchenware with you to cook your own meal ?
I bring a frying pan, spices, a garlic press, and a sharp knife for chopping veggies. :-)

Visas may be alright for Americans...what about the rest of the world?
You can get a 3 month Visa. So you have to go in and out of Vietnam 3 times per year if you are European or whatever.
I think you can live there cheaper also.
