  • Nestled amidst the picturesque mountains of Vietnam, Da Lat emerges as a serene mountain city perched 1,500 meters above sea level. Seeking respite from the sweltering heat of the beaches, I embarked on a scenic journey to this tranquil haven. After a five-hour expedition, I stepped out of my hostel into the lively streets, eager to immerse myself in the charm of Da Lat.
    My first stop was the city lake, a serene oasis amidst the bustling urban landscape, where I took a moment to absorb the sights and sounds of this mountain retreat. As I wandered through the streets, I couldn't help but be captivated by the unique ambiance and vibrant energy that permeates every corner of Da Lat.

    I have lived in Đà Lạt for 13 years and have a restuarant, K'BE Wood Fired Pizza and BBQ. Well worth visiting and hike the Langbiang mountain, 2100meters! Thanks for the great review. The city of flowers!

    Dalat deserves to be the central city of Viet Nam, because Da Lat has the strongest feng shui of the south of Viet Nam. So Viet Nam country should build more streets and civil works thanks to sea sand from Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan provinces and leveling small hills. I think in year 2035 there will be 1 more central city! Of course, Green trees will be protected!

    Hard to drive there when I was there 8 years ago. Roads not marked with names. Residents do not know directions. Virtually no gps. Plenty of local cops stopping foreigners that are driving for shakedowns. Nha Trang much better place to visit.

      I think it’s a lot better to drive these days with technology on phones. Google maps got me everywhere I needed to. I hired a motorbike and was warned to always wear my helmet when I was on the bike, even if I was stopping for a rest, because of the police, so I was lucky enough not to have any hassling me :)

    Hi Stu, enjoying your vlogs.
    What would you say is a reasonable daily budget to do what you are doing?

    • @olderbackpacker
      @olderbackpacker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I try to get my budget to around £25 a day and that includes accommodation, food, transport and everything else. Obviously I’ll have days when I go over budget and I’ll have day of trying to doing nothing :)
