***edit about the house price as I forgot to say that in the video and quite a few people were confused. The entire house (with a small plot of land next to it) costs $500 per month. It's not my part of the rent, it is the full cost per month***
Greetings from Dalat! Recording this video was refreshing, something very different (and even new) compared to what I filmed before. Thank you all for being with me 🙏 More videos are coming from Asia and Dalat in particular!

A friend went on a guided tour of Vietnam in 1981 with a group of journalists and academics. It had been organised in conjunction with The Times newspaper.
He loved the country and could not believe how friendly and welcoming the people were, which surprised him after what the Vietnamese people had suffered during the dreadful Vietnam war 🇻🇳🕊️☮️

Nik, you are living in paradise. What is better than to wake up to peace and quiet, while being so close to the big city with all you need. If you are tire of the mountain, it is only a short ride on a bus down the mountain to the beach city Na Trang. You made a fantastic choice to live where you do.

@@VienNguyen-tp5rf So true, thank you for reminding me that there are people who are living nearby with money problems. It must be a living hell for them people without money. Still, it is not my problem nor is it Nikki's problem. He is just living a modest life style similar to the locals. He is not showing off his money by driving a new car or eating at the expensive restaurants. He is eating the local street foods and only pay a lot of money for a few of the imported food items that he needs to eat. There are poor people all over the world and there will always be poor people all over the world.

Love this video! Even if I didn’t subscribe to you, this is something I would have watched because I love learning about new cities. I’ve only heard Da Lat by name but knew nothing other than it was up in the mountains. What a great introduction and if I were to stay in Vietnam for more than a month, this might be my number one choice. I can’t deal with the hot humid tropical weather and Da Lat is mild weather, beautiful scenery from the mountains, and big enough city to have lots of things to do. I would venture to Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City for the occasional weekend stay or longer.

I don't believe it's the same guy. The one Dima that comes to mind decided to leave Russia in 2022. I seem to remember that he was involved in protests, and got a little paranoid about the possiblity of getting arrested. He has (or had?) his own TH-cam channel. I think he first crossed the land border to Mongolia, before he sometime later decided to try his luck in Georgia instead. But he didn't move to the capital Tbilisi, like most Russian immigrants, but to the coastal city of Batumi instead. After a few months he probably ran out of money and had to move back home to Russia.

Niki, this energy of yours is kind of just right for me to follow what you're saying, compared to others in the past. Keep it this way. There are insect repelling plants you can hang outside and inside the house, may provide both esthetic and functional value.

Nico, to keep the screened windows open above your work station you can use a simple steel plate or nut (anodized or zinc dipped to prevent weathering) mounted on each side of each shutter and mount a corresponding strong neodymium or samarium cobalt magnet in a ring formation and fasten each one permanently with a steel screw. That way you will have a permanent and simple way to keep the shutters open. Point of caution: These magnets are VERY strong and because they are ceramic somewhat brittle. Never, ever heat up Neodymium magnets to high temperatures as they will explode. Niko, Konstantin recently mentioned on his podcast that you were living a relaxed life in Thailand. People were asking about your welfare. You were definitely missed!

Or of course you could use Kryptonite magnet.

@@Luke-PlanesTrainsDogsnCars Neodymium and samarium cobalt magnets are real super strong magnets and not hard to come by. Samarium cobalt magnets are used in traveling wave tubes (TWT) to focus the electron beam. TWT's are in microwave ovens, radars and satellite telecommunication setups. Krypton is an inert gas. Permanent magnets are made from special alloys (ferromagnetic materials) such as iron, nickel and cobalt, several alloys of rare-earth metals and minerals such as lodestone.
