Hi Enjoy your training videos. Wish I had found them before I paid an arm and leg for dog training classes. The bond between Mr Fluffy and you is amazing. Have you tried bite sized pieces of dehydrated beef heart, known as “doggie crack” in our area? My dogs go crazy over it. The smell is awful, as it dehydrates. Wife banished me, dehydrator and beef hearts to my shop. Turned shop into man cave, all my buds bring their beef hearts to my place on game days. Sling a few brews down, watch a few games, we’re happy, the dogs get to play out in the yard, as they have a “play date” as my wife calls it, the dogs are Really happily crunching a few pieces of doggie crack, as we put them through their basics over the next few weeks until it’s time to make more. Can’t wait to watch ya-alls future videos.
We use all different kinds of treats that I call “dog crack”. Normally his treats consist of different types of meat from butcher, hot dog from our butcher, orijen treats, cheese, fruit and vegetables. This was sometimes he gets his favorite thing and other times he gets healthy stuff. Always keep him guessing and working hard for his favorite treat.
Ok I have an Apricot boy I got during COVID lockdown 😩 He is my First Standard and I Cannot even begin to tell you HOW in Love with him I am!! I will never have another breed of companion again (I’m 50 in 8/10/22). I have rescued all of my life, however I am now disabled now and I could no longer deal with the copious amounts of shedding I had from my last 2 rescues (sisters/litter mates yellow Labrador mixes)Lilly & Lola. I do need tips on How to Socialize my SPoo boy now though that quarantine is ending and life is getting back to Normal. He is not fond of anyone coming to the house. I just found you, subscribed, and will be looking thru your videos to see if I can find any tips to help me with my boy Bridgerton (Bridge for short). Your Fluffy is SO Handsome!🤍💙
Watch the video that will come out tonight on the channel 7:15EST. It’s all about confidence and training. Both should be built on a daily basis to help build not just brain power but the bond/trust between each other. Once you set boundaries your dog will understand what is asked but if you break the boundaries and or not consistent then the dog will go back to doing whatever it pleases. Always here to help and to contact us quicker . Message me on instagram “The Fluffy Poodle”.
I'm considering getting a standard poodle and really like how they're super smart and easy to train. While every dog is different, how long did it take for Fluffy to getting these basic trainings down?
Please explain what you mean by basic training. I personally feel basic training is is quit a bit of things. With that being said you may be able to teach a dog how to do something but without consistency it doesn’t mean much. You have to be able to find what works with your dog each day. Some days they might want to train and others you have to find a way to excite them into training. Yes The Fluffy Poodle is extremely smart but without training on a consistent basis he will just do whatever he pleases like any dog would. This is the same for pets and not just working dogs. If you allow bad behavior they will continue to do it but if you teach them and be consistent with it…. They will be amazing. With all that i said…. Dog training is a marathon not a sprint. Not about how long it takes to do something, it’s about finding a way to get it done and be consistent in it and never stop.
@@thefluffypoodle right on. What part of state you call stomping grounds? I'm bringing home a mini poodle puppy mid June and cannot wait to get her working
Hi, I am thinking about adopting a rescue male of 5 months. Do you think that he can be still corrected/trained at this age or should I consider a younger puppy?
struggling with my 9 mo old standard poodle despite private training and puppy classes. Biggest challenges is her still grabbing at our hands and arms with her mouth and constantly jumping up when we sit at the kitchen table. I do need to practice some skills more but when I see what you do here in this video I feel so bummed because I think I've lost some confidence that I can train my dog to that level of obedience. Please advise. also she lays down when I tell her to sit.
Remember as a child you couldn’t run fast right away. First you learn to crawl, then walk then run. Take your time and if you need help just ask. Here to help as much as I can.
@@thefluffypoodle someone posted on a poodle group that she was overwhelmed when her dog was a pup and her trainer kept reassuring her that 18 months is the magic age. She said it was true and her dog became amazing and more trainable at that age. Our previous poodle was very different and was a much calmer dog. We got her at 6 months old. Our Molly we got at 8 weeks- the youngest dog we’ve started with. Our Rosie passed at 14 and 3 months last May and we got our Molly last July. It’s an adjustment because Molly is only receptive to pats when she’s calm. We could pat and cuddle Rosie any time . Molly is way more hyper .
Hey would you help me with a fetch issue I’m having with my poodle? I posted it on my feed and am looking for help from any other savvy poodle parents. #fetchobsession Thank you!
It's a fetch issue where he releases all balls 5 feet in front of me but gets to frenzied to remember to bring them back fully. I made the video as an explanation, you're welcome to source it and use it yourself I just am desperate for some advice on how to change his behavior. Thanks!
Has he always been that toy motivated or can you train toy motivation in a dog. Keva is super treat motivated and used to be really toy motivated but its like she's loosing her toy motivation the older she gets. She does still like toys but not as much as before
He is both treat and toy motivated. Some days he wants the toy more than food and other days he wants the food over the toy. I try to keep in mind he is just like a human. Some days humans act or want something different and other times is just want the same thing.
I love hearing a Man praising their dogs like this!! Not to judge but alot of men dont get very excited with praise with their dogs
Very true
Calm .. DOWN!😭😭😂 he was too excited ❤️😭😂
lol
This was super helpful
Thank you. I will be doing another video like this soon!

Have you trained in in classes or mainly by yourselves?
Both! We train everyday but also attend classes, conferences and network with trainers all around the world.

@laelprimrose6230 I will post a video tomorrow or Friday that should help you.
Is it a stranded poodle?
What is it? If you are referring to the dog in the video… yes I am a pure bred standard poodle.
