I've not seen a lot of Buddy Hall's one pocket but that was almost perfection.

What a pleasure to watch these two legends play one pocket. Incredible play.

Nine and ten ball is like fast food. One pocket is like an all night feast.

I see one-pocket like a soccer match on a table and with more balls.

@@heginschristianstrong7707 I guess there is so little footage of his matches that it escaped me. I always thought of him primarily as a great 9-Ball player

@@christopherwelsh7008 unfortunately you are correct. Buddy's prime years were in the 70's. There is very little film of him. All the matches that are available he is into his 40's and was still a killer. But he was a top shelf One Pocket player even though his best game was 9ball.

Curious at 1:45:18 why Buddy didn't just pop the 3 ball in back up couple inches first, then the 15, 2, 10 for the out? Instead he left the 3 for last.
My only guess is the camera angle maybe makes the 3 ball look straighter in than it was? Thanks for any insight.

My only guess is he didn’t want to miss shape by drawing too far back on the 3 on the first shot. I defer to Buddy Hall, though. Lol.

Buddy was a pretty nifty one pocket player.. Beat my brother the match before in an all time all time match.. Jeremy made a length of the table combo hill-hill, and got unlucky and pinned on the 8 ball.. But Buddy escaped quite a few well laid traps along the way.. Good times.. We won all the money, anyways, that week.. hehe..

Jacob, I read your comment and I had to wonder who the hell is writing this comment that he's talking about his brother losing to Buddy Hall and why we should even care. Then I looked up to see who you were. I've gradually been becoming more and more a fan of your brothers pool playing and the way he's been anchoring the US team's.

I don’t like to watch one pocket billiards. It’s such a slow, technical game, I find it boring to watch. The narration, however, is excellent. I need to learn more about the game.❤

I can agree with you only on the narration and wonder if perhaps you've overlooked tiddlywinks as a option. On a more serious note, don't give up, one pocket is an acquired taste.

It's like the saying goes," One pocket, its an epidemic, and there aint no cure" the more you learn, the more you want to learn, a game you can play, even when you get old, its a beautiful game!🎱👍

I once told a very good older player that I would get bored playing pool, and he told me I wasn’t betting high enough.
Sure enough betting higher will get your attention, and you won’t have time to be bored.
