    GOD bless you for this instructional video. I just started as audio director for a church a few weeks ago and you have made learning the M32 Live so much easier. I was able to get a good mix the day I started running sound, thanks to you. It took a couple weeks for all the info to sink in, but I finally have a solid grasp of the console. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Keep up the excellent work!!!

      We have an X32 and a P-16M already. We are getting in the S32, 2 Turbosound IQ-15 and a Turbosound IQ-18B later today. I am trying to figure out how to connect them all together and what connects to what. The all have Ultranet connections so I think it should be simple. I just can’t find any videos that incorporates all of this. I just see people have 2 or 3 of these items.

    32:00 The tap is different then how the bus is getting sent audio. The tap is when the audio will output from the bus. On each input channel under the sends tab, you can select where the busses will get signal.
    So basically, you want your bus sends to be prefader and you want your bus output tap to be post fader so your bus fader still controls the overall level for the bus.

    Hey Jake! I wanted to make people aware that if you have a midas branded console with a behringer branded stagebox you would not be taking advantage of the better preamps which is one of the best reasons to get the m series over the x series.
    One of the best little upgrades I recommend for X32 users is to spend a bit more and get a midas stage box.

    • @matlonproductions408
      @matlonproductions408 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. The Midas stage box preamps are superior to the Behringer stage box preamps.

    • @RexyFan
      @RexyFan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Audia what do preamps do?
      When someone mentions preamps, I think of the gain button at the top of each channel on an analogue mixer.
      Sorry I’m not a sound engineer, so would like a simple explanation to help me understand plz ?
      Thanks.

    • @Nixmix800
      @Nixmix800 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RexyFan Google is your friend!!
      However:
      Preamps/ADCs take the analog Input signal and amplifie (preamp) them first (duh) and then convert (ADC) them into digital signals for your console to process. Better preamps equal better sound.

    To achieve 1-to-1 mappings on my setup, I like to "go decimal" restarting a stereo 1/2 to 11/12 (subtract 10) or map 1-16 onto a bank starting with 11, 21, 31, lastly 41-56 etc. Works well. Probably better than say... 33 to 48 potentially (subtract 32). Then again the Midas always goes in banks of 8 if I recall. I love how the faders are so smooth and seem to go forever as you puil them down on a slow fade.

    Very good tuto, tks.
    Some more tips (no big deal but accurate info):
    -for wifi router, you'd better hide your SSID. This add more secure around your network.
    -at minute 25'28", read In (for inputs), not Ln (for Line as you said)
    -at minute 1h21'42", to set back a GEQ band back to zero, simply press MUTE on its corresponding channel. To set all GEQ bands back to zero, use the RESET ALL function under the screen.
    -for the talkback function, I would like to add that the X32 series have also a built in mic that work pretty well (located down left corner of the screen).

    I selected a Presonus 32R for our church's mobile setup, but after doing some research on a different mobile system build, I decided to get an X32 rack for the second system.
    I have to say... While I do like the iPad app for the Presonus 32R better than the Behringer app, I definitely like the X32's feature set and stability better than Presonus 32R's.
    If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the X32 for both systems.

    I understood that the prefader config was set on the sends view of the given buss, which gives you the option in pairs (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and so on), and not on the output section, because you lose master fader control when doing so.

    Question... My church has an X32 compact that was setup by the professional installer that looked over our setup and then installed it after we bought it for them... It works fine, and just has a digital box probably similar to the one you're using, below the stage with the digital box just hooked up to our stage riser and wall plugs, which is fine, but i have a microphone setup at home that I don't use much, as of yet, at least and was wondering about connection types available...
    Presumably I could (if I ever needed the microphones, such as for a kids play) just hook the receiver into XLR jacks on the stage itself, or into the box under the stage itself, but there's 2 issues with that, 1 being the fact that my receiver likes LOS without bodies in the way, for best reception, and obviously, most plugs would be behind the talent, or else the empty plugs on the box would be under a hatch cover in a bit of an electrical closet, neither of which is ideal, and 2, the receiver/mic setup is tiny, and over 300$, so I'm not wanting the receiver to get stepped on... For reference, my receiver has 2 paired mic's that can send data to separate channels,(if I want to) for using a single mixer channel dedicated to each microphone (as opposed to 2 stereo aux channels locked together)...
    So, what I was wondering, was if there's any reason not to get a 3.5 to dual 1/4 jack patch cable, and just modify the resulting audio with the associated aux slider associated with each individual mic? Would that work, or if not then what would you recommend to do for something like that? It's just a Prosumer mic setup that I have that I'd like to have available to borrow to the church when needed, that has line output on the receiver if I need it, and is just 2 tiny wireless lapel mics, with a charging dock/receiver that's all rechargeable, picomic 2/PicoStream if you're wondering the product model name of the mic setup... Any ideas how to incorporate something like that if I ever find a need for it, or ways to improve the original idea on using aux ports? I really prefer having the main unit close to me at the soundboard, assuming it works from that distance when I eventually test it this weekend, after I get my cable delivered hopefully tomorrow...

    Thanks for this video.
    Would you recommend that we get a Behringer X32 and a DL32 (because of the Midas Preamps ) or the M32R Live + DL32.
    Is it worth getting the M32R Live over the X32?
    My concern is the length of future Software updates as I believe the M32R will likely get more years of update considering it was released 6-7 years later after the X32.
    Thanks

    I am watching this entire video (and other video's you have produced). They are excellent! The church I play drums for is going through some major renovations. When construction starts in the Main sanctuary, everything will be moved to the Family Life Ctr gym (where they have the Contemporary service now). They purchased a new Allen and Heath digital mixer a few months ago. We are planning to send audio and video to the control room via Cat5e cable, which is about 100' away. I'm thinking we may implement the stage box to send audio, and I'm guessing the video will travel through cat5e as well. Any suggestions?

    This walk-through was so helpful in helping us clean up and restructure everything. I like having a designated DCA for reverb. Is it possible to have that one "reverb" DCA level control and act as the "main volume/control" for multiple effects returns? Is that recommended?
    Also (let's use vocal reverb as the example), is it best to simply send an equal signal of all vocals to the effects bus and just control all of them at once from there, or is it best to send each vocalist with a different signal strength to the effects bus?
    Thanks.

    Did I understand you right 1:32:01 would I set up my affects based on DCA group? If I bright down the DCA group it “mute” the singer, but if my worship leader is speaking I don’t want to lose him. Can one channel be in multiple DCA groups?

    Router Config - you probably want to change the default IP address on the router. We found that our mixing board router's default IP settings conflicted with our main internet router.

    I have a question! We are running 8 ableton tracks out of a Scarlett 18i2” into the DL32 and have a slight bleed into all 8 inputs of the DL32. But if you test each output of the daw individually there’s zero bleed. Any way the Midas could be the issue? It’s the same console here

    I'm starting a worship leader position in a couple of weeks. I was able to stop by and check out the board (M32) this weekend. When looking through the plugins, I wasn't finding their version of the LA2A, 1176, or Sonic Maximizer, like I have on my Behringer XR18. Do you know if these should be included? Or would you need to purchase them separately?

    Process for taking channels out of Main LR, On Behringer X32, I would like to divert two audio channels from the main speakers to just a single monitor. I don't want them to go through the main speakers only to a monitor. How can I do that? If yes, can you help me to do the thing step by step, please?

    We followed your tutorial to the T, and can’t get the effects to add to the channels. It shows signal going through to each channel, but no effects are coming through. Any ideas on this issue? Maybe something is muted? Any help is appreciated!

    I have a question about routing the PA outputs. I operate a HSD rig, where in order to control the limiting in the drivers in addition to crossover frequency, we run our sub speakers, mid speakers, and top speakers on their own separate outputs. Typically we have just used Mix buses for the subs and mids and have ran the tops on the main 15 & 16. Is there a way I can continue to run each category of speaker on their own individual output channels (tops are stereo, mids are stereo, subs are mono but we do two per channel, so if we have 4 subs we're using two outputs), but then route all those separate output channels to the main 15 and 16? Almost like a sub bus? And if so how would I do that on the console? Is this where the Matrix feature comes in?
    Lol sorry, long question I know. Thank you so much for this video it's so helpful!

    Do you know if this console has a restriction lock? At our main campus we have an SQ7 so if you are logged into the admin you can change the gains and EQs but on the volunteer you can really only change faders, and rename channel strips.

    I notice you didnt have Bass or Electirc guitar anywhere at the back of the console - so are you not using electric and bass or are they being put into the board in a different way?

    Jake, love your channel, it is great information for those learning moments!!...thank you for sharing your wisdom. I have a quick question for you: Do you run wireless mics from the FOH meaning plugging the transmitters directly into the inputs desired directly in the board or do you plug the transmitters for the wireless mics direct into the stage box DL32? I am having a challenge running my wireless mics from the FOH to register a line level into our DP48 stang monitors.

    Great stuff dude as I only at this point do jazz and symphony and rock and roll bands and orchestras however what you're talking about applies to all... I do have a question... Do you have yourself designed by you that is to say,? Do you have a black and white printed flow chart available as to how you think of this mixing board from one end to the other. In other words a shorthand synopsis on print that is available so that one could use it as a checklist of sorts. Long question I know but I think you probably get the gist of it. And so thank you for taking the time and energy to do these things I know that you're making money at doing it nevertheless it's quite an endeavor to produce what you've done here and I do appreciate it believe me!
