After watching the video I bought a a bottle. The back door was early stained and marked. It now looks brand new. When I stained the decking I managed to get the sealant on the patio doors. This amazing product took that off too. All looking amazing.

Great vid yet again, I personally like to use magic erasers to clean up grubby pvc. Give it all a good rinse with a soapy cloth then just rub down with a wet eraser and it comes up a treat, customers love the chemical free aspect.

good job, although i use Bond-it Upvc Restorer myself gives a great shine with a light buff and a lot cheaper, there are lots of cream restorers out there, be sure to check that they don`t contain bleach (many do) they will discolour the Upvc, regarding the green backed scourers a customer checked with me whether i was going to use them as he swore someone prior to me caused very minute scratches on his sills on inspection there were indeed very minute scratches, i obviously have no way of knowing how they got there, and have never used the green backed ones anyway as i have always use the white back scourers, they sell these in most supermarkets next to the green backed ones there described as Non Scratch, always best just to be on the safe side. enjoy watching your videos

    • @trevhib

I was amazed when I saw green scourers being used, they can definitely leave small scratches all over softer surfaces and I had heard UPVC doors/windows have a protective coating that is easily removed with the wrong product(s). I'm no expert and I can't vouch for the information about the coating but having scratched various surfaces with green scourers I'd definitely try the white scourers first, or even just a cloth with either Bond-it or RubOut.

Thanks for the video. This method of cleaning is actually quite a good one. But for anyone doing it like this I'd recommend making sure not to press too hard with the scouring pad and use plenty of dish washing soap which cleans and lubricates as you clean. It's a good idea too to rinse off the soapy water because dish washing soap contains lots of salt. Salt attacks the surface of the plastic making it oxidise and making it go dull very quickly. There are several types of UPVC mix used for windows and doors and some are more affected than others. The early doors and windows oxidise more easily. Later ones are more resistant to this effect. You will all have seen the dull effect on especially white upvc. When you rub it with a damp cloth white colouring actually comes off onto your cloth. That is the oxidisation. I haven't used the Rubout product but it will no doubt be good at restoring the gloss finish. A nice video producing good results. Thanks.

Yes, there is a reason - the sill was the dirtiest part of this door - I used it simply as a demonstration section for the video - as you see I did not do the entire door - had I done so I would have, as you rightly said, started at the top and worked downwards. The only time you start at the bottom and work up is when spraying degreasers on vehicles or ovens or softwash chemicals on walls.

No, it's Unger Rub OUT. For removing paint, knowing the type of paint and choosing the right remover for it is the key, however use sparingly, and repeat many times instead of trying to do all at once. Some paint removers will burn UPVC.

I would never use an abrasive pad Jesus. A good soapy wash and then a soft cloth with t-cut will remove any stains and when rubbed off will leave a high gloss protective finish. Then a good car wax will give a long lasting protective gloss finish and will stay clean for a long time. Using an Abrasive pad will remove the protective finish of the UPVC.

I am assuming they are white PVC? First I would use a strong solution of UBIX 2000 (From the cleaning warehouse in Willenhall) mix about 1 part Ubix to 3 parts water. This will do the majority of the heavy lifting. Use with a green scourer. Then if you still have any marks left go to the Unger Rubout - again from The Cleaning Warehouse.
Honestly, if that doesn't do it (and it will) you'll need new windows.
To-date however I haven't found any that I haven't been able to clean.
WARNING -- I DID LEARN on my last Nicotine clean up job that that shit is NASTY -- (I am also ex smoker 12 years retired) Even though I wore a face mask and marrigold golves the solution that ran over the gloves and onto my skin left me quite sick for about 3 days. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
