I have never seen so many crabs on each line caught like this before on any crabbing video. We don't have blue crabs up here in the mountains of East Tennessee. Thank you for the great video.
Nice catch, and a rare catch at that , especially that many, that big , and that fast ! I know exactly how much fun ya'll had because I caught them like that two times, and at the same place. One of those times I caught my limit in ONLY 40 minutes, and with only 3 lines. I never got to put out more than three, because all three were constantly pulling hard. They were HUGE (#1s) and FAT, and I averaged 5-7 at a time. One line was so heavy that I thought I snagged a big clump of grass...NOPE...it was 12....TWELVE ! A little later, another line had ten. That was over 20 years ago from a dam in Wonder lake, between Montegut and Point Au Chene. Unfortunately, it got destroyed in hurrican Gustave, and replaced with one a lot taller, and not even wide enough to get on. Now, nobody crabs on it anymore. I have not been back since, and still haven't found a place near as good.
That is the best crabbing I have ever seen. I have had a few good days where, between traps, hand-lining, and hunting for them in the shallows at night I have gotten 50, but that is generally over a period of most of the day. I thought it was still a little early in the year for blue crabbing.
Wow. Best crabbing I've ever seen on a hand line. Good job.. I live in florids and I'd do a day trip there just to have that much fun. Thanks for the video. Tight lines
Great day of crabbin' for sure, I guess my wife and I need to try there we usually go to blue crab rec area or along the canal heading down to Rutherford beach.
i remember last years blue crab video - it's been a year already ??? what a great first pull ! hell yeah ! that bank does look slippy ! the excitement with each pull ! love it ! that's food for the belly right there !
You have a great technique there in catching crabs. I am only familiar with using crab traps. I might try using the chicken and net that you showed here. Very nice video.
You're usung the right net, one with a small mesh. The large mesh is just a huge pain due to the crabs getting tangled up in them. Plus she actually knows how to use it. She submerged the net first, you pulled the crabs OVER it, then she went straight up with the net ! All I see is people waiting until they basically break the surface then swat at the damned things from overhed like they are swatting giant flies. That causes them to lose the crabs and wonder why they can't catch many. Not only that, you know the right speed to pull them in, and not one SLOOOOW inch at a time, like so many people do. GREAT JOB !
I’ve been crabbing all my life running a 1500’ trot line out of a 16’ jon boat here in Maryland and people always ask why I don’t get a bigger boat. I’ve crabbed in my brothers 24’ skiff and 35’ Maycraft, but it’s just more fun in a smaller boat. BUT my favorite type of crabbing is hand lining! Very nice crabs! The biggest blue crab that I’ve ever caught was a 9” crab that I caught in the Kent Narrows, which is on my wall now mounted on a crab basket lid!
Just use regular twine, use anything for a weight, I use a big nut from the hardware store. Tie the chicken and weight together with the twine and just throw it in the water and tie the end off to a stick on land.
People trashing tf outta the hollybeach and Rockefeller area leaving dem crablines and trash its sickening... They needa go back home learn some conservation tips and pick up after dem selves.
@Louisiana Outdoorsmen That's what everyone should do, but unfortunately the minority is actually the ones using the resources responsibly. I picked up 4 lawn sized bags of string beer cans and chicken packets this weekend.
@@CoastalSouth wow that’s crazy. Fortunately where I go requires some walking and leg work to get to so not many people go there so I don’t see much trash
They are not monster crabs. They are small and female and it is forbidden to catch them. I won't watch any more of your videos. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Awesome video. The hand line crabbing videos are my favorite outdoor videos by far but I do like all hunting and fishing videos

That area must be chock plum full of crabs. I never seen so many crabs being caught in one area. Good job guys

Great day, & congratulations on being married to someone who loves crabbing as much as you do...she's the REAL catch!
You got that right!

We got lucky with a few days of it being warm and the water temp came up a little so we hit the water!
@@LouisianaOutdoorsmen genuinely jealous man 😂Good stuff!

That is frick'n crazy, awesome!!!

Sometimes simple is the best way to catch them and it’s so much fun.
Thas a good spot

As always, another great time on the water.
Never a bad day even if we don’t Catch
Man y’all are wearing out them Crabs! Heck Yeah!
No doubt, it was hectic for sure.
Hello sir from New England. Can I ask if you started at 7am or pm?
AM…I always crab in the mornings
@@LouisianaOutdoorsmen thank you sir, all the best
My mind is blown I’ve never seen that many crabs on every pull,
Love going crabbing haven't been since last year. Yall got some good ones
Yea we love it as well but with gas now it’s a trip that will have to be put on hold
Amazing bro! Great freaking spot!
For sure, sometimes it pays to explore google maps.
What is the name of the lake?
Team work
Makes the dream work

Can’t get no better than hand lines and also can’t get deep in the marshes in louisiana with a big boat
Where is this at in Louisiana?
Rockefeller refuge
Thanks brother
Awesome video, we go to Rockefeller always fish Price road. That looks like a way better spot.
Reports from price lake rd have been good the past couple weeks, this is a spot I found on google maps exploring one day
Dinner served. Where you guys at?
Rockefeller refuge
How do u make those crab lines?
Just use regular twine, use anything for a weight, I use a big nut from the hardware store. Tie the chicken and weight together with the twine and just throw it in the water and tie the end off to a stick on land.
do you keep all of them ? is that legal ?
No we do not keep all of them we throw back the little ones
Whats the limit and how long is the season? I'd have to take a second on my house to own that much crab.
Limit is 12 dozen per boat/vehicle and they really don’t have a season but best times are late spring through early fall
Was this in Louisiana?
Yes it is
Where were you guys crabbing?
Rockefeller refuge
Bruh!😇
Wow, I would have thought the water temp was still too cold to catch that many!
Normally anything above 60° water temps is good to go
nice, did y'all go by boat?
Yes we went by boat
That's a hot spot. Keep it secret!😁
Trying my best, a few others know about it because I seen signs of other people fishing it.
Next time yall gonna have to bring an extra ice chest 🤣
I have a big 120 quart but it takes up a lot of room in the boat
If there crabs fight A lot in the cooler put down layers of seaweed, it distracts them and calms them down
Pretty good idea but they normally aren’t too bad
What part of L.A. you catchin' em'?
Southwest, Rockefeller refuge
When was this filmed?
Last weekend.
Love it the woman does the work handles the crab while the man makes stupid school boy noises. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have you tried or know someone who tried using both fish and chicken in the same trap as bait?
Not the same trap but I have used both before in different traps
Never did good at Rockefeller might have to do a trip with you one day.
Most times you have to go by boat to do decent but I’ve had my fair share of bad days as well.
You need you some them white boots
I got some boots just not white like the delcambre Reebok’s
U get stuck with those in the mud
Does your wife have a sister? Great video! Subd!
Not Maryland Crabs ?
We in louisiana
Showers more water and chicken than crabs
CATCH AND COOK!!
Where r u crabb8ng
Rockefeller Refuge
You must not be far from me I’m an hour drive to Rockefeller
yea its about 1 1/2 hours for me
If you would get in the water you would only need 1 line 1 net ......Wade up and down the bank and they'll be there to get every time
With the size alligators that are in these waters I’ll pass on getting in lol
whirling in circles is making me nauseous please stop otherwise great video
You keep the females ?
Yes we keep females as well as long as they don’t have eggs
Camera work not great. Yawl dumping the crabs without a good view of them isn't that the purpose of the video?
People trashing tf outta the hollybeach and Rockefeller area leaving dem crablines and trash its sickening... They needa go back home learn some conservation tips and pick up after dem selves.
I always cut the chicken off the lines and throw the chicken in for the crabs and gators and roll up my string

It better be a monster blue crab TH-camrs know how to lie to get views
Biggest was 18” claw to claw and 75% of the rest were 15-16” claw to claw those are monsters in my book
@@LouisianaOutdoorsmen in Charleston sc we got bigger fish 🐠
