Sam, you got you a good woman, Joyce is into every aspect of getting the fish, crabs, shrimp, she even pulls the traps and helps clean and then cook them................ LIFE IS GOOD for both of you, keep it up!
Hi @The Old Couple Outdoors - Sam & Joyce, again a beautiful couple, a beautiful video, a beautiful day, a beautiful catch and a beautiful meal. I do appreciate you both sooooooo much😍❤️ Thanks again
Finally, cooking the crab with the shell on. The best way in my opinion. I'm from Maryland and we steam crabs and would never think of cleaning them first. I love watching you two, and I love Joyce's giggle!
We got in the habit of cleaning crabs years ago when we lived up north in an area that had a lot of pollution, the state recommended cleaning the crab before cooking because most of the toxins are in the guts. I actually got sick eating crabs from a bad area, that.area is clean now . I also can't tell a big difference between steaming, boiling, cleaning or baking them, they all taste good to me. Thanks a lot for Watching
i am from the islands...Barbados & we clean crabs fore we cook um...cooking with the shell on is not our favorite thing to do...i cringe at hw u maryland ppl cook crab
I am a lot like Sam, when I get to throwing the cast net and it ahs good shrimp every throw, it's hard to stop until you have a limit....lol. Love watching you two do your thing, don't ever stop. God bless you and keep the videos coming.
Wonderful video. It feels like I'm right there with you guys catching those shrimps and crabs😊. And the cooking part is always Mmm Mmm fingerlicking good 😋
Thank you, we have been watching all of your videos and enjoying them very much. Our last video we gave you 2 a shout out for giving us a different way of cooking crabs.
Sam you threw some good pancakes and got some lovely shrimp. Those crab have got me fired up, my boat's running well, l missed out last summer coz l was ripped off here and motor still wasn't running, went out of town, it sounds so good now. You guys are so entertaining, you always cheer me up, tight lines lovely people 🎣🐟🇺🇲🇦🇺
We caught quite a few big crabs that day and I planned on picking them so Joyce could make something special and we ended up with plenty of meat, even after we ate a few ( those big ones were full ) I figured we could let the small ones shed one more time. Thanks a lot for Watching we appreciate it
Hay Sam and Joyce. I just watched one of your videos and noticed the serving plates on your table that was marked with the logo of Capt. Starns. Back in the 60's my whole family worked there. My father was a dock master, my mom worked in the office and I was a bate cuter on the Lone Ranger. Seeing those plates brought back a lot of memories.
I started to work on the party boats when I was 10 years old the first one was the Emma R, then as follows Capt Starn III, Capt Starn V, the Capt Swam (commercial fishing), Capts Baby, Miss Atlantic City, Helena G Starn, Endeavor (commercial fishing) and others besides Starn's. All when I was young, I remember the Lone Ranger and all the others, all day boats fare was $5.00. My dad Captained at one time almost all the boats Starn owned. Capt. Bert Whitaker. Some of the best memories of my life. We've been eating off those plates for 50 years. Nice hearing from you.
I'm pretty dang sure I won't ever get tired of watching Sam throw a net or Joyce dropping crab traps. I'm laid up with a broken femur that required emergency surgery to install a metal plate and 9 screws. YUK! Your trips on the water always bring me joy! That's again guys! Stay well and keep bringing us great content! God bless. 👍❤🙂 P. S. Don't ever fall down as a senior person....it's never a good thing! 😕
Thanks Cindy, you're right about falling I tell Joyce that all the time she falls too often because she moves too fast the last time was about 5 months ago, we thought she broke something but she was lucky again, it still bothers her though. We hope everything works out for you and you heal fast. Thanks again for Watching
Nice platter of shrimp and crab there bud... Thought Joyce was gonna yell at ya for throwing those crabbies back!!! Great seeing you still out there catching em! Have a great one!
You guys are amazing. I'm going to move to Florida and become your new best friend that you invite to crab and shrimp feasts!!!! I'll do the dishes!!!! Love you!!! ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Those are some monster crabs and beautiful shrimp. I got some dunginous crabs picked to make a pot of Joyce’s Crab Bisque. Will send you pictures. Stay safe guys
Alice, I planned on picking them so Joyce could make something special and I like picking the large ones, we ended up with plenty of meat even though we ate a few. I figured we could let the small ones shed one more time lol.
We loved this episode watching you catch shrimp as well as crabs. It looks like so much fun and tasty. I love when Joyce makes up recipes on the spot. Take care
We're glad you enjoyed the video. You're right that is exactly what Joyce does most of the time, then she has to write it down so we can make it again lol. Thanks again for Watching
You had a very good day. I hope every day will be this good. Joyce is making me want some shrimp and crabs. I am so happy that you had a good day. You both compliment each other. Keep on keeping on. God keep you and bless you.
Howdy Sam and Joyce. What a great day on the river! Since I’m unable to sit down at the dinner table with you i’ll say the blessing. amen. I know you enjoyed dinner
Thanks, we cook them whole sometimes but when we're in Mississippi we always clean them first because they're not as messy eating them in our hotel room. Thanks again for Watching
Hi Sam and Joyce, Have you ever thought about setting shrimp pots instead of using a cast net? A lot of recreational anglers in Alaska use shrimp pots to catch deep water spotted shrimp, thinking it might work well where you are. What a beautiful platter of big crabs! So delicious 😋 Joyce wanting to keep ALL the small crabs is too funny 😂🦀🦀🦀🦀
I thought about using shrimp pots, they're legal in Florida I just never got around to it. Joyce wants to keep everything lol. The large crabs were heavy and full of meat but the small ones were light and would hardly have any meat. Thanks for Watching
Hi Sam and Joyce... You guys had a very good day... Made my mouth water again!!!..😋 if I was there too try it... There wouldn't be any left for Sam😂😂😂 take care God bless you.. be safe out there!!!
Love the video❤ crabs were nice size! Joyce... Put your foot down on the throwback..lol lol... Actually I'm glad you guys are so picky😂 Love from the State of Virginia❤
Miss Joyce cat fish, R delicious on the Blackstone especially if you’re black in them they are delicious. If you ever want to try one before you catch, you cook your own you and your husband go to Cracker Barrel and get a grilled catfish dinner running about 15 bucks for each person and that’s with three vegetables I don’t believe you just be disappointed.🦀🦀🦀🦐🦐🦐 be sure to let me know how you love that catfish dinner
Years ago we were fishing in the mouth of the Suwannee River trying to catch Redfish but we're only catching catfish so we kept some for dinner at the end of the day our daughter caught a nice redfish that night we cooked the catfish and the redfish, comparing the two the redfish won, not even close. Maybe we'll try it again. Thanks a lot for Watching our videos.
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors will miss Joyce. I believe if you tried that Cracker Barrel grilled not fried catfish dinner if they have I believe you’ll like it I really do and please let me know if you do go to Cracker Barrel and get it like I said, I don’t believe you’ll be disappointing at all, if you are disappointing, you can give it back to them and they’ll bring you something else. Just tell them it doesn’t taste right to you and I’ll bring you another meal. Whatever you choose.
You guys are just awesome and catching crabs and those shrimps were huge! And yes I agree with Joyce there should be a crabbing tournament why don't you guys host one? You guys would be great at it. And I still wish you'd open up a crab pizza joint! I would love to see you guys do that and I would be one of your first customers.
We used to go night shrimping a lot before we started cast netting shrimp, now we don't have to stay up until 3:00 in the morning lol. Thanks a lot for Watching

You won't be far from Pascagoula Mississippi and you don't need a license to crab with handlines or ring style traps. Stop in Wayne Lee's supermarket and fishing tackle for your crab bait ( chicken ). There are several piers and docks at the boat ramps in that area.
The furthest south we've set our crab traps and caught shrimp is Lake George. I've seen blue crabs at Blue Springs Park but I don't know of anyone crabbing in that area. Thanks for Watching

OMG THOSE CRABS ARE HUGE! my hubby and i are trying to decide where to retire…. i want a house on the river so i can crab and fish but he worries about flooding if there is bad weather… he wants to be on a lake or anywhere (even NOT on water).. lakes wont have crabs, etc, right? so i need to find rivers that are not known for flooding but good for retiring where they dont tax you to death, including your retirement income. im not really into fla ONLY due to the constant storms, bugs, gators, and.. did i say bugs? lol. so, if you have any tips of other rivers in the country that are not prone to flooding out homes and good for lower taxes.. I am all ears.
For crabbing shrimping and fishing you can beat Mississippi between Bay St. Louis and Pascagoula, we call it the Biloxi area. We visit about once a month. Homes are reasonable and the people are very friendly.
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors we wanted to avoid that area as its high risk for direct hits of hurricanes, but thought maybe the river that runs up and along miss would be good for crabbing? are you familiar with the areas like that, but northward enough that it wont be a direct hit for hurricanes?
Maybe it's a New Jersey thing, that's where we are from. We just like garlic and I think it's good for old people lol. Thanks a lot for Watching we appreciate it.
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors I would not have it any other way! I love crabs and like crabbing but no one ever wants to go with me but I’m going to do it this summer in NC no matter what. That is where I live.
I planned on picking the crabs so Joyce could make something special and we had enough large crabs which are faster to pick. We ended up with plenty of meat even though we ate a few ( they were packed ). The small ones were light and didn't have very much meat, no rusty bottom like the big ones so I figured I'd let them shed one more time. Sometimes We let large crabs go if they're light and have very little meat. Thanks for Watching

Q ?? Why to the crabs make bubbles.
When they're breathing out of water they form bubbles to get more oxygen. Thanks for Watching
What state are you doing this in?

Do you ever preserve crabs
Freeze them for another day.
We do and they freeze well. Thanks for Watching
Is the garlic a Philadelphia thing ?
Maybe it's a New Jersey thing, that's where we are from. We just like garlic and I think it's good for old people lol. Thanks a lot for Watching we appreciate it.
Why is everybody in the same spot? Is that is where all the shrimp are today? I don’t keep any crabs unless they are 7 inches
Shrimp seem to gather at the same spots every year which are not large. We keep crabs over 5 inches that are heavy. Thanks a lot for Watching
Cat fish is good eating
Just fresh water catfish. Thanks for Watching
I CAN SMELL THEM IN HAMMOND!
That's quite a ways but I believe it, they did smell good. Thanks for Watching

@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors I would not have it any other way! I love crabs and like crabbing but no one ever wants to go with me but I’m going to do it this summer in NC no matter what. That is where I live.
Do you need license to do that
Just a fishing license. Thanks for Watching our videos
You don't eat catfish ?😱
We've eaten them in the past but we prefer saltwater fish. Thanks a lot for Watching our videos
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors 👍
This video was unusually offkilter..... throwing perfectly fine crabs because somebody felt "fussy".
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoorsThank you for that explanation. Very helpful information.
