5 dozen crabs in an hour is really good. Catching 2 or 3 at a time gets you off the water quick! Neat idea cooking them on the BBQ grill. Looks delicious!

Finally someone that knows how to cook blue crabs. It gets so old watching people cook them whole then pick the guts and lungs out of their food. If you don't clean them first you don't get the seasoning down into the meat! Looks great and makes my mouth water.

I will differ, as we pick them with season on top it get through the whole crab. Not including the apple cider vinegar, beer, seasoning. Steaming puts the flavor thru the crab. Trust me!! Maybe not. Lol they do look good Don't they!!

I see this cooking style on so many channels and it bewilders me. I grew up in Yscloskey, LA, about an hour southeast of New Orleans, eating crabs twice a week in season. I have NEVER seen them cooked like this and it truly fascinates me that there are so many channels with this preprocessing cooking style. We literally just put them whole into a pot of boiling Zatarain's with all the other fixin's... let them cool and after that its up to you. Processsing 20 lbs of crabs by hand [for what?] is incomprehensible.

I live in Florida and someday I'm gonna catch me some lobster and blue crabs, make crab meat stuffing to grill cook some crabmeat stuffed lobster. Maybe some Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, or Grouper on the side. Maybe Blackfin Tuna, or whatever kind of fish I caught that day. Ya mon.

Always keeping it interesting Kendall.Well done video!! Gonna have to try this next trip. I make a simple metal clip to hold the chicken on. Cut the hook and curly wrap off of a clothes hanger, then wrap the middle around a broom handle to form a spring. then bend one end 90 degs and then a simple J and leave the other end straight but long enough to go through the J to form a simple diaper pin. Easy to load bait and take it off. Seems to hold better than tying a string around a slippery piece of meat.

This may be my favorite video ever. Skinny water, tight turns and good product for friends and family. Texas loves ya! Edit, how many minutes total on the grill? The family is asleep and I couldn't listen

Thank you! That means a lot! I probably went 15 minutes or just cook till all the blue turns orange.

Hi Kendall, I am still new to your videos, only watched a few however you have got my blood going. I am from Opelousas originally, I have lived in California for 35 plus years and haven't fished La. waters since my Father passed 20 plus years ago. I am almost finished building a tiny 8 foot boat that I am rigging for bass and will be driving down to Opelousas sometime mid September with a Grandson for a month or so of fishing. I would like to possibly meet and perhaps fish if you have the time. My Grandson has never been there and fished very little in his life. I think he would enjoy meeting you as well as I would. I plan to fish til I fall over lol/

Thanks for sharing! I'm just like everyone as far as NEVER putting crabs on the grill! I will most definitely be trying it! How long do you generally leave them on or what do you look for to see they're done?

    • @kfred

It was probably 10-15 minutes. When all the blue turns to orange or red. Thanks for watching!
