    I normally end up skipping through these types of videos to speed up the watching time, I’ve never once skipped a second of yours! Love the channel please do the frame in the standard colour unless the bikes going to be dripping in bling then go for something unique.

    back in the day we would drill stops for front end swaps on the ATCs, Your idea works, lotta extra time then a threaded in stainless Allen bolt stop, or welding a new stop onto the frame.

    Great video can't wait for the next! I know you didn't want to molest the RMZ clamp but I was wondering if drilling and tapping the clamps contact points, and then adding threaded tabs to extent the contact points would work? Or would it negatively effect turning radius? Thanks again for the video

    • @G9Garage
      @G9Garage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was one of the other options. Probably my next preferred solution. The problem with that is the contact point on the frame would end up having the paint chipped off and looking untidy. Also, the extended points would hang out a fair way...

  • @timo0413
    @timo0413 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nicely done as always, so much satisfaction watching this.. (i can almost see those backyard engineers who would just simple drill two holes in the triple clamp and put there a long bolt with lot of washers and nuts :D) but i want to ask you why you converted the front end? I know you mentioned reasons like better suspension, brakes etc. but wouldn't this modification drop the value a little bit? I mean if you had a stock front end which was repairable... anyways it's your bike just asking

    • @G9Garage
      @G9Garage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Timo, I don’t think it drops the value much. I wanted to see if it could be done and I like the challenge. One of the prerequisites was to make the modifications reversible so I can go back to original if I want to later. The 250 I recent built was nearly 100% OEM. The 125 will be a bit different!
      Thanks for watching.

    Awesome work mate, another cracking vid. Hey, ive just got a question for you..... some of my Z50's have small dints in the metal tanks. Do you have any ideas how to get them out??

    • @G9Garage
      @G9Garage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey J Gold thanks for watching mate! I used to have a bunch of Z50s! Love them!
      Short of body filler, I’ve seen tanks cut open, the dents beaten out and the welded up. Never done it myself though...

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gday G9, thanks for the response. Yeah cool, ive also heard of filling them up with water then freezing them, and the expanding water pops the dint out, but ive also heard that can split the open. Any ways, the dints anen't too big, so i may just leave them. I love Z50s also, I have 12 in total... some really nice ones too. Id absolutely love if one day you did a resto on one... especially the z50r. I could with bikes/parts etc. Have a think. Cheers mate, and i cant wait till the next episode. JG

    • @keithtarrier4558
      @keithtarrier4558 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JayGoldNuggets I would say that would depend on how much water. It would be a fine line between enough, and too much. But measure how much water it holds... calculated this with the % that water expands and you could get a good idea. Not enough at first is better than too much.

    • @JayGoldNuggets

    It would have been easier to apply some heat to the tank with hot air blower. Suzuki plastic tanks are easy to modify with heat so it won't destroy the looks and you wouldn't have decreased turning radius. Done that and never had any problems with it.
