    I came here to check out the m50 and fell in love with the R only to have the wind knocked out of me looking at the price. 😂🤣 Great video!

      The M50 is a great camera and I hear you, the R is super. Consider buying used or even better refurbished. Another camera to consider is the Canon EOS RP. Thanks for stopping by the channel, I appreciate it!

    I got the M right every time as it wasn’t up to the image quality of the 70D and R. For me, the R didn’t blow the 70D out of the game every time as they were much closer. Great to see, as I’m currently debating whether to get the R or save up for the R6; based on this video I’d wait for the R6. Thanks.

      @@pablodiazphotography Thanks. I just watched again and I agree that on some of the shots the 70D is better and on others the R is better. Have you done a comparison between the 70D and the R using the same lens (with EF-RF adapter) by any chance? I'm also interested in your views on those two in low-light and action situations. Thanks again.

    Came here wondering if the R would be an upgrade from my 70D.. The R blew the others away, was so easy to pick every time. It's just incredibly sharp. 70D was decent, but I did mix up the M50 and 70D twice. Picked the R correctly all 7 times without hesitation. Bad news for my bank account. LOL

    I like the comparisons. I have a 70D and wonder what I'm missing in the mirrorless R and M50. I think it held it's own here for sure.

      Steve Lopez Hi Steve, thanks for the comment! Honestly, the 70 D is a worthy camera worth doing most any type of photo project. I like the 30MP full frame sensor and the extreme high quality of the RF lenses on the R. It really comes down to what you shoot and if you are happy with the outcome, if so you are good. Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it 👊🏼

      @@pablodiazphotography at the moment I'm mostly using it for videos on my cooking channel. I just bought some softbox lights and experimenting with what settings to use for video. My ISO has been high since I'm indoors so now hopefully the noise comes down. Have a look if you get a chance?

    Man, I want the autofocus to lock accurately and I want good noise free video (at moderate light, nothing extreme)
    Would you suggest me the 70d or m50?

    • @pablodiazphotography

      Tough choice. I like both and have owned both of those cameras. Let me provide you another solid choice that’s pretty new and gives you much better auto focus and that’s the Canon R 100. I believe Adorama has the body for $299 or the lit is about $470.

      @@pablodiazphotography Sorry, That's a no go for me, only for the fixed screen, I need to take high angles and low angles a lot.
      another story: I just went on a shoot with my 1300d and the spot was extremely sandy, I got specs of sand in between the lcd and glass, then to make it worse, rain came out of nowhere and I literally panicked, then as a cherry on top, I dropped one of my batteries in the sand and when picking it up, I cut my finger with a sharp screw on my tripod.
      Does this make the 70d a better choice? and also I would like having a larger battery and no adapter hassle to fit lenses. Is the m50 that better to bypass all this?

    • @pablodiazphotography
      @pablodiazphotography  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally understand. The Canon 70 D would be the choice, it is water and dust resistant.

      @@pablodiazphotography And, how good is it at doing low light videos? My 1300D is able to go upto ISO 400 without messing things up, upto how much ISO do you think the 70d will look clean at night time?

    Is the m50 known to have a bit more of a flat color profile than others? Or maybe I’m seeing the shadows get pulled up on the compressed image?

    What lenses use this type of shots

    • @pablodiazphotography
      @pablodiazphotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      It really could be any lens. I used 50 mm lenses in this video but a good variable focal length lens like a 24-105 mm is good for a lot of photography.

    Hi bro! Love this video :) I'm currently using a 10 year old Canon 550d and now when I started doing some small paid jobs I think I need something more professional. I'm looking for something with good low light performance both for photos and videos (a lot of grain in the image is the thing I want to avoid the most) Unfortunately I live in country where buying a new EOS R with 1.2L lenses is nearly impossible :P So I'm looking at used 70d and M50. I found it very hard to choose between these 2 cameras. Which one will you recommend to me? And maybe there is some other options with 500-600 USD budget? I will be very grateful for your reply :)

    • @pablodiazphotography
      @pablodiazphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kacper, totally understand your situation. I love the 70D and the M50, but both will be more susceptible to grain in low light because of the cropped sensor. However, the workaround to this is to have appropriate light to the subject which can be difficult at times so having a fast lens would help (F/ 1.8, 2, 2.8) or cheating a bit and slowing down the shutter or exposing your image for the highlights so in post you will have minimized grain in the shadows. I would select the M50 with a Sigma 16mm f1.4 or a Canon EF-m 22mm f2. My choice also for the M50 is staying in the mirrorless world. The M50 is a wonderful camera

    • @chrisbo3493
      @chrisbo3493 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm in the same situation having a heavily used 550D. I would consider M50 if it had Canon RF lens mount like the R. So because 70D being available for ~320$ and the M50 for ~500$ I'm inclined to get the 70D until I really need/want the full frame Canon RF Mirrorless or something at that level with min. 30 MP and very good 4k Video including fast/accurate Autofocus. Additionally for small jobs the 70D looks more professional ;-)
